Dream Sharing Forum
Nov 1st, 2005 at 2:46pm

There have been a number of requests to have a  separate forum just for sharing and discussing dreams.  Now there is a place to post your dreams, ask for help interpreting them, or perhaps just to document that you had a specific dream about future events before those events happen.

Posts not about dreams may be moved to a more appropriate forum, and posts about dreams on other forums may be moved to this forum.  Visitors are encouraged to utilize the Peer Moderator system.

Enjoy the new forum!

Actually I've noticed that when I read about other peoples dreams, it triggers me to remember mine.  So thanks for the forum where I can focus on what I need to remember and hopfully relate some of my nighttime experiences to jobs or learnings I might be doing and then forgetting about.  It's much easier than weeding through the varied topics that sometimes tend to overwelm and not allow me to complete a personal theme.

hey Carolyn, now u just have to remember a dream so I can pick it into pieces just for practice! he he he he! then I promise I'll return the favor.
seriously, we're all dreamers, we just don't remember dreams well until we train ourselves to remember, so welcome dreamers one and all. and ok, I'll be the first one to smash my champagne glass on this ship with last nights dream, and Corolyn, I might need a little help on this one. love, alysia

Okay, actual official dream to share...

Very short dream...I'm in the kitchen, doing I forget what, and there's a knock on the door.  I go to answer it, and when I open the door, standing there looking through the screen with a big, somewhat sheepish grin on his face, is John (my at that time about five weeks dead husband).  I yelled "What are you doing here?" as I flung the screen door open and threw my arms around him.  He seemed somewhat surprised, and when I looked up at him and said "You'll wait for me, won't you?" he answered "Uh, yeah, sure..."  I'm not sure if it was a "Yeah, sure" like "Crap, what do I say now?" or like he couldn't believe I'd even ask (I like that translation better).

Everything was absolutely real, I can remember the cool dusty feel of the aluminum screen door,  how warm and solid John felt, and the feel of his shirt against my cheek, even the temperature outside.  About that time either the alarm went off or that stupid rooster started to crow under my window, and I woke very abruptly.

So, someone with more expertise in this area than I've got...analyze?

hi Cricket! hey! our first dream here! cool!

nonphysical beings use our dream state to communicate to us best because while we are dreaming we are more accepting of this contact. so, I say, it was your husband for real. same thing happened to me when my hubby died, and it was around 5 weeks it took him to come by and say hello.
u lucky! although it's not exactly luck. you are receptive and sensitive. man, I wish I had a rooster to crow at me! I love chickens.

"man, I wish I had a rooster to crow at me! I love chickens. "

I'd gladly send you a few... Wink

My take on my dream was about what you said, but I wanted a "second opinion".  It was one of the most intensely "real" dreams I've ever had, and I do a lot of lucid dreaming.   One thing that really struck me, don't know if it's unusual or not, is that I never for an instant (during the dream) forgot that he was dead...I was actually thinking "He came!  He actually came back to visit!"  I had gotten the impression, from reading here, that all of that kind of pointed toward "the real thing", but it's nice to hear.  I love John with all my heart, but he was hard to sleep with (imagine a tall boney individual who snored and thrashed all night...and I'm half that size).  One thing I'm noticing is that, sleeping alone, I'm having a lot more dreams I remember, I'm "lucid dreaming" a lot again, and getting a lot more rest.  Looks like life is telling me to get into that side of my psyche now. (Fate dropping a tree on John's head was not absolutely necessary, sigh...)
