Hi Ryan,
Playing & singing really gets juices flowing for me. It doesn't happen every time, but often after a little while of playing & singing I'll enter into this expanded state that is also deeply grounded. Everything becomes vibration and at the same time I am occupying my physical form fully. All thought stops, there is a wonderful silence there, I listen to the music that's flowing through me as-if someone else was playing it, i mean I'm enjoying listening to it as it happens and am surprised at the life within it. Moments of discovery can happen; a song I've played a zillion times will start having new improvisations going on with it that surprise and delight me. I often sense non-physical beings around when I crack thru to that expanded place while in the creative flow... Man, playing gets a lot of energy moving, I am always surprised, everything is alive in that expanded/grounded place.... These words just poured out right now, hope something translates from them, maybe even make some sense.... I tell you brother, music is one powerful thing; when learning, it helps to have the goal in mind (that you wish to be a player) That way you might be a little more patient with yourself as you work on it, it takes time, you will jump levels in your learning, all of a sudden you'll be in a totally different place with it, being patient and consistent in your practice is key, not to expect immediate results, but just hang in there, do some practice every day, and be gentle with yourself. The rewards are infinite...
Love, Tim
