I must confess that despite I’m no longer in a proof pursuit I understand those who still look for it.

I know that only the proof we get through our own experiences can touch us deeply inside. And remain.

Despite that, I’d like to ask if anyone here has had an experience that I would say VERY simple but of great importance.

In my opinion a very simple way to convince my self that I went truly OBE (we are proof focused here) would be going Out Of Body and checking a physical place for a single detail like, for instance, a pair of shoes forgoten over my neighbor’s roof and once back to the wake state, simple went there and check it to see if the pair of shoes were really there. (no Spiritual question here, only a simple easy test)

hi there. yes I have many such simple experiences as well as the more earth shaking kind. but I see that simplicity is the best pathway to take when we try to share, so I appreciate this thread idea.

I move around a lot, fancied myself a world traveler once but so far have only made it to live in washington, colo. calif. and new mexico, but its a start.

when it's time for me to move on I get nervous where I'm going to live next so I go out of body, we can call it that for simplicity, but sometimes its like a simple dream undertaking.

so my exploration is to step out of time to see future residences. this most simple images within dream tells me how to recognize my next house by what I've seen maybe 6 months previous in dream or obe.

once I saw as in dream and sensation of flying up to observe a wall decorated with Southwestern pottery faces and I floated there admiring them, but wondered what it meant upon awakening. a sense of "when u see this wall, you will be home, was upon me.

then I moved in a house which had the same neighbors I had dreamed about also next to me and soon I started putting this pottery up on the wall in back..then I remembered I had seen this wall within dream about 6 months previously and it made me start thinking about what is time? and who am I who wanders through time?

hi Carlos, u don't seem skeptical to me not at all and a valid question. to answer your question I always nowdays have the intention..or set the intention to explore future residences..but at first my intentions masqueraded as mere curiosity and I did not know curiosity was like opening the door to the imagination, but it did. I just wondered if it were possible to see the future. I did not even know that when it started "happening" that I was seeing the future, not until I started to "live" these events within mundane reality, then some "AHA!" moments would be on my menu.

which as I said made me ask who am I, what is time?"

and those answers and questions is another story

"My guidance must be from beyond this physical World."

It's not beyond anything but more within..

Most of us have had convincing OBEs, but it is often very difficult to describe them in a useful manner because English (and most other languages) are not well suited to handle metaphysical ideas.

I recall one day when LSD was legal (and I was still dumb) I was "investigating" what I could do, and abruptly found myself rolled up inside a window shade. I was there for quite a while, and thought that it was fascinating. The structure of the shade, that it was rolled up and thus had repetitive layers seemed to be important.

Another instance was a fine morning when I awakened in the mountains at Big Sur and as I began to take in the clear air I found myself looking down at me as I flew by above, and then a few moments later, I saw the hawk whose eyes I had been using.

My first OBE was when I was an unhappy cadet in a military school. To gain some options, I had become a bugler (which was OK when I cold remember what call was supposed to be sounded - and embarrassing when I couldn't). I was up at about 5 AM getting ready to wake the rest of the world when I lapsed into a momentary trance and discovered that I was in the corner of the room, looking down at my body sitting with my horn. I got so interested that I tried to see if I could watch myself doing something, but that snapped me back into the body.

As a student of your local religious practices, you might go to one of the senior members of a Candomble, Umbanda, Macumba etc group and ask to have the experience of being mounted by a spirit. If your heart is pure, it's safe, and would certainly be convincing - at least to you.

Unfortunately as they take it really serious only the ones who “officially” take part of the group can join the happenings at the “Terreira” that is kind of a stage where the Mediums are “mounted by spirits”.

So I’m allowed only to watch the ritual but not to take part on it.

Hey Recoverer, I like what you said.   

Put this way, some of the best experiences I've had, I've had without having any idea of how to initiate them. They were gifts that I'm very thankfull for.

As a result, I don't have any techniques to share.

My feeling is that everybody gets what they need.

Of course it does help to open yourself up to what's available.

One thing that helps is to not have preconceived ideas of what you're going to discover. If you insist on having preconceptions, it's hard for the guidance that is available to help you. It won't force itself on you.
