hahahahaa, that is neat Ryan!! It must make you feel good inside to be having contact with your grampa! You know, when my dad died back in 1987, he did something with a lightbulb every single night at midnight, every night up until his funeral service. Every night at midnight, sometimes maybe 2 or 3 minutes just before, the lightbulb in the ceiling fixture above my bed would go: ping! Sometimes two or three pings....and then that would be it. There were 5 days that passed between when he died and the service. On the night before the service, instead of the light pinging....the alarm clock went off at midnight. It was set for 6am....so why it went off at midnight, I don't know. (actually, I have a pretty good idea why he chose to do that....in fact, certain of it) ...........so at midnight, the alarm is blasting away. The next night was his goodbye....the hand on my cheek...his words and then the ping on the lightbulb. And then he was gone.
