People Who Fake Ability's
Sep 28th, 2005 at 3:29pm

Greetings people,

I went to see a so-called psychic (My first actually), the other day, she did the toro cards etc, i asked about spirit guides and so forth, but i can honestly say, im 99% certain she was a fake.

Im quite young (18 going on eternity actually), and she started saying the cards showed a policeman at my door, i assume this to be that she does'nt get many people my age coming to her, and that she made a stab that i was in trouble with the law etc.

She continued on about, my grandad was standing next to her etc, and she could smell fish and chips eminating from him, (and she felt offended because she was vegitarian etc), but it's pretty easy to say most people born along time ago would have had fish and chips at some point.

The main thing that bugged me was i could'nt get a word in edge ways, i said to her, what does my grandad look like, and she was just sat there zonked out in her chair, pretending not to hear me.

The point im getting to, is that are there any real psychic people or such things?, or are alot/most of them fake?, alot of them i see on TV i can explain the things they say as good guess, and i saw one medium who charged 70 pound for an email, in which a deceased relative would magically appear on his moniter and whisper him infomation to relay.

I hav'nt seen alot of psychic mediums, on TV who really convinced me theres life after death etc, though the few i have seen that i believed had ability's really relayed acurate infomation.

I have quite a few books by mediums etc, but words are easy to fake, unlike a real session being filmed.

I just wanted to know if anyone else had seen/had experiences with fake psychic/medium type of people, or if they know any good mediums who they believe are genuine.

Use an old interrogator's trick: include questions you already know the answers to to see if the person is lying.

It's called "cold reading."
Google "James Randi + cold reading" and see
what I mean...

In my opinion, I agree that ‘truth = belief’.  In short, if you believe it; it’s real (to you).

My feeling on this topic is that I t  IS real (I believe it is real)  this (I feel) makes life more interesting.

However, that being said, there ARE many charlatans out only to get money.  The main thing I look for is how quickly and importantly money figures into it.  After all, as Kirk said “what does God  (spirit) need with a starship(money)?

Besides, I think we are all Potential mediums:  we just need to pay attention to the correct things.

For those who believe no explaination is necessary; For those who do not believe, none is possible.
