Empaths, easier marks for scammers?
Sep 15th, 2005 at 4:48pm

Would empathetics and people who feel that all are one be easier to scam than the ordinary me first type person?  Would an empath or all is one type person feel good about giving, even though they knew that they were being used by a scammer?  Or, do you think that there is another factor that makes one an easy mark?

Hi Mr_Satan,
to be empathetic is one thing, to be intelligent/smart/clever is another. I think it's not necessarily so that empathetic people are more scammed than others, but it may seem so: Because some people don't see the joy of helping others, so they would tend to think one is scammed instead (even the one who is helped).

MS,

Hi there.  I think the "me first" attitude might lead to being scammed by life in general.

The empath might get scammed and come away with a gift out of the experience that was worth the scam.   Experience in life is always a gift.   I know that I personally can only see the gift MUCH later sometimes, but it is always there.

For instance, and this is unrelated but can serve the purpose of this topic, if I turn in a library book late and I am fined, I simply consider it my donation to a worthy cause.  And if I pay good money for "holy" water that someone poured out of a tap unknown to me, perhaps the ritual fed my soul.

It's all worth it to me.

love, blink

I'll admit my philosophy "all is one" got me into some trouble but I utilize the experiences ...I also consider myself empathic, but thats something I never knew.
the main problem I got into is not listen to my first hunches about a situation, or not speaking about it, and instead ignoring it was there, like it might go away if I ignored it. now I trust myself when I get a hunch and I feel better about speaking up instead of turning my head, because if u do turn your head, it just keeps presenting itself in another form somewhere else, the same kind of problem. love, alysia

I have found the same thing happening.  What could cause the same problems to keep coming at a person?  My theory is that we call for them subconsciously.  In other words, there is a large part of us that wants it.  The subconscious of another person who can carry out what we ask simply responds.  All the more important for us to know ourselves by exploring the subconscious.

agreed. some level we draw experience to us. I always say..no way...I did not draw this in...the other person I interact with...but after the show is over..then I can see how I did it..brought it to me by some act of omission...not speaking up my mind on the spot was my problem. I usually let sleeping dogs lie, that relaxed attitude..hope for the best whatever..sometimes if u get a nudge to say something, might be better if you just said it, save yourself some trouble down the line. if I get myself in trouble then I usually have to go astral and talk to the person out there..clear up the mess. I don't want to have any karma later, so it works. love, alysia

I think this is a way to address the subconscious of the other person w the possibility of renegotiating a previous deal.  When i have an issue w someone, i often do this in a focussed meditation.  It seemed to have worked, when i verified it a couple of times.

agreed again, with one additional comment..that when I've gone obe to re-negotiate something, or, the way I put it, after I've declared I want a win-win in my C1 meditation, sometimes they show up in my obe with a guide alongside them, like a mediator guy. Grin
I end up talking to just the mediator/guide, who btw, comes as an individual which has characteristics I don't think I could have made up. in this case I'm thinking of, the guy I had the dispute with would repeat whatever the guide had said, but they were totally different people. I'm not tooting my horn. this was embarrassing...obviously I couldn't handle my own relationships! Embarrassed but it all turned out ok in the end.

I don't think the concept of we are all one has any think to do with being scammed. Its a fact after all that we are indeed all one ,just each playing agreed roles so each can learn what is needed for the soul to grow.

Its taken me many years to realize , that I did indeed give to much of myself to others and in the doing I was scammed if that terminology works for you. But through the encounter I have grown, I've grown to realize the real truth. Was I scammed through the higher planes they would say no, for I learnt what I need to, from the play.

Its all just a little game we agreed to play, thats all it is.A game so our souls can grow. I've grown and thats whats important.
