For those who like facts

Greetings to all !

Yeah I don't participate much anymore because the board changed too much to my taste. But still, for those whole like to know what science is going through to prove or disprove the after life, I suggest reading this story : http://www.near-death.com/experiences/evidence01.html

I heard about it years ago on tv I think but it is the most unusual story of its kind.

Long story short : the woman goes through a brain surgery, she is brain dead (Pam's brain was found "dead" by all three clinical tests - her electroencephalogram was silent, her brain-stem response was absent, and no blood flowed through her brain.), and she still had an NDE with memories of what she saw.

Dum dum dummmmm !!!!!

I love stories like this, they hit you right in your face and give you no option to believe something is there! Cheesy

must read soon, bit busy at the mom but cheers for the link, can't wait.

Amazing story, Raphael.  I had not read it in her own words before.  This must have completely baffled all her doctors and nurses.  I would have loved to have been there when she described to them all she experienced.

Has anyone else gone through a similar type of surgery that you know about?

love, blink

that is an amazing story and its gotta be proof of something even if you are the most skeptical! Maybe science will ever figure out the answer...well prove what we all know.

Hi Raphal & Blink -

One of the most common anesthetics, Ketamine, is famous for producing OBE during surgery. There's a general surgical consensus that these are hallucinatory and any information recovered is either coincidental or obtained by natural means.  It would be useful to actually perform a few experiments in this regard. Unfortunately, the "human subjects review committee" of most major healing professions prohibits such things.

My information is that Ketamine used to be available in Mexico with fewer controls than in the USA. Perhaps a Mexican physician and some American volunteers might be assembled. Another possibility is the Netherlands, but I don't kow the laws there or how much effort it would take to do this kind of experiment.

If anyone is interested, I'd be extremely happy to assist, help with experimental design, statistical analysis and so on.

Hi all,
before you try Ketamine think of the possibility that you may get into fear while under influence of Ketamine. You will not be able to get fast back to your normal C1 body feeling then!!! You will be unable to move! So, think twice!

lol I know of a couple of other stories but only this one is really troublesome to science. And this is also why most scientists don't even know about it Wink

Anyway your idea of testing on human subjects is starting to sound like a book I read a couple of years ago but I don't know if they translated it. "Les thanatonautes" by Bernard Werber.

Anyway they were doing that in the book but the scientists selected their subjects in prisons. They were prisoners that were sentenced to death.
