it appears to me you are getting initiation rites into the retrieval areas. same thing happened to me my first retrieval, to not be able to tell in what way I was related to a young man in an alley whom was running and had been shot. the guide with me only observed my reactions and urged me to take action to awaken the young man that he could turn away from this reenactment of his demise. they only thing you need to do is get the guy's attention and the rest will be taken care of for you by the guides who are watching you. you might approach the person and inquire of their fear, or just place your hand on their shoulder, do what u can to get their attention. we are able to do this because we still have a physical vibratory rate and the retrievee is still "believing" that he also is within physical plane reality, and is the reason that the guides  who are of another vibratory rate, are unable to get this fellow's attention: the guides need your assistance, that you direct his attention to these others and they can remove him into a better mind-frame then. fear is definetely a prison. break him out of jail!
