Another planet, Shirley?

Then there is the option of reincarnating on another planet if and when this one is no longer "viable"..
*****************
Yeah, and probably having green skin, or tentacles, or maybe three eyes (on stalks) and no sex, you just bud off spores... How about a really short (say 15 years) lifespan due to the fact that your sun is a high-radiation-type star? Or maybe a "hive" collective society where there's no individuality (like the Borg or something?) FORGET it.
On the webpages of Wade Frazier (interesting fellow, do a google and check it out) he makes the speculation that if we "fail" as a species... we might reincarnate as something which CAN'T MANIPULATE ITS ENVIRONMENT... but has intelligence, like a whale or a dolphin... to try to "get it right." (If you'd find such a prospect enticing, then I... PITY you.)
So what this tells me is, the afterlife is fundamentally... INHUMAN! O.K., keep it, I don't want it! Bring on the Obliterators, upon my "crossing over."
Wow. Come back as a whale (or alien whale-equivalent?) Yee-haw, I can't wait. The boredom of being a fish-form just sounds so exquisitely wondrous. (*Sound of Bronx Cheer*)
Kind of defeats the whole idea of a "second go", wouldn't ya say???

Aww..B-man..if the same conditions on Earth are found on another planet, the odds are that the same type of life will exist there.

Personally, I don't believe we reincarnate in a cross-species way.  That is, I don't believe I could come back as say..a cat, nor do I think a cat could come back as a human.

The beauty of the afterlife is that you could choose which form, that is, whether a planet where everyone was green and tentacled, or just very similar to the human type.

I think it would be cool if there were a "Klingon-type" or "Vulcan-type" (perhaps more like Romulan, I wouldn't care for the nonemotions nor the 7 year sex cycle either)

But, whatever is "out there", the excitement is in finding it.

I had this dream once that was so real..close to oobe, and it sticks with me..that it was a real place..not here.

I call it "the yellow planet" as everything seemed..yellow.  Not the people.  They were just like us.  But, the fields, the dirt, the streets..you get the idea.

In the dream, I actually boarded a spaceship to get there.  Then a yellow train ride towards town, a walk down a yellow paved street, where I saw a yellow truck parked along the side.  It had a name on it, like "Ford" only..it was a language I could not read.

Was it just a dream?  Perhaps.  But, I've been looking for that "yellow world" ever since.  I think..that's where I'd like to go next.

yellow reminds me of summertime. yellow sunlight making the air look yellow and warm and bright. winter is gray colors..I think that's why when fall gets here I start getting blue gray feelings..
be willing to bet anything you can dream up can be found somewhere in the afterlife. we may have a lot of exploring to do here gang!

haha... I didn't ask for my "spirit" to be brought into existence too, but here I am...

Alas, my curiosity saved me from the oblivion, and I just want to find out whatta f*ck is this (what everyone is calling) life all about...

and I'm sure I will find out...

it is my choice to live or go to oblivion after this 'revelation'...

so, in some degree I feel like you, B-(wo)man... but, I know one thing: at least I'm not impaired like you... for that I thank you...

hahahaha

We definately do!  Today..around noon, I got real sleepy, so I took a brief nap.  I saw "yellow planet" again.  It was nice to be there.  I hope to go again..and to explore further.  Perhaps "yellow planet" is my place There.  It sure felt  comfortable..

Hi Brendan -

Gee, I'm glad that you aren't suicidal.

But now that you've incarnated you're now in a world in which the odds of getting out alive are extremely slim. So it kinda moots the "whether", and leaves only the "when". The same is true of rebirth as well.

Since the evidence is that we fall back and forth through the cosmic looking glass, we can neither be eternally alive nor eternally dead. Perhaps that's not really as important as what we're doing at the present moment, and how we feel about it.
