Hi everyone...new member here :)

I stumbled upon this board yesterday, and it wasn't long before I knew I had to join  Smiley

I suppose I'll start off by telling a bit about myself and my never-ending quest for spiritual knowledge....

I was born and raised in North Carolina and raised as a Christian, although not of the "fundy" type (although I was certainly given exposure to it by way of my grandparents.)  My interest in Christianity reached a high point in my teen years, and waned after that due to various circumstances in my life, not to mention that I couldn't cope with the idea that only Christians could go to Heaven, etc, etc.  Even back then I knew what I had been taught as a child was only a shadow of what was out there spiritual-wise, although I didn't explore it for many years.

My interest in religion/spiritual matters reached a low point a few years back, and while I never considered myself agnostic, I certainly had my doubts about it all.  Then, about a year and a half ago, I began to have a series of psychic experiences that launched me onto my current quest of spiritual knowledge...and I came to realize that there is so much more to "me" then I had ever realized, not to mention the infinite realms of God, Spirit and the Universe.

I've also discovered a side of my self that I've actually had all along but have never acknowledged due to my stubborness of my right half of my brain that kept insisting that anything outside of currently accepted scientific principles just wasn't possible.  Once I finally came to acceptance of my "greater" self (spring of '04...seems like a lifetime, though Smiley, it was like one door opening after another showing me things that I had given little, if any, consideration to like OBE's and the afterlife.

Anyhow, just last week I was feeling a bit depressed about not being able to find work (I've been unemployed for quite some time now...sigh), and I began to think about the true meaning of my current life here on Earth, and where I might go after I leave, plus the added jolt (sorry for the pun) of nearly being struck by lightning nine days ago while I was standing under my carport watching a thunderstorm...talk about a kickstart to the heart!..LOL.  I did some Googling, and came across the story of Howard Storm and his NDE, and then I went to a bookstore and bought a book titled "Think Logically, Live Intuitively" by J.R. Madaus, and I really connected with his experiences at the Monroe Institue and the whole idea of exporing different Focus Levels, and then I found Bruce Moen's site and this board, and I knew I just had to join.

I can't say that I've had an actual OBE other than the typical "falling into bed" stuff as a kid, but that's something I'd certainly like to experience, if I can just learn to properly meditate for more than five minutes at a time...lol...but I do have a very active dream life which probably comes close to having OBE's considering all the strange and weird places that I've been to in dreamland, not to mention all the psychic stuff that seems to be happening more and more frequently as of late.  The key thing is that I have a burning desire to learn more about all of this and to not to be stuck in a limiting belief system, which is why this board resonates so well with me.

Guess I'd better leave at this for now before I wear out my welcome  Grin...but I'm certainly looking forward to sharing and learning on this board.

Much Love and Light to All,

Byron

Hey welcome to the board.

just one major point i picked on which i didn't believe for a while is that we do actually porject when were alseep, not conciously (which i thought was the only way) but yes we do. You say you haqve an active dream life...ever come out of a dream thinking man that has gotta be real, that felt so real! well it was you yopu were probly boarding conciousness in it which is why you can rmeember being there so vividly just not at the time...

this is a good thing and if you are thinking about projecting this will all help. just keep at it, something i never did and wish i had now i'm getting results, its truly wonderful. Hope you ahve fun!

Hey Ryan, Blink, thanks for the welcome... Smiley

I've certainly had dreams which seemed "as real as life", but I've never considered them to be OBE experiences since I don't recall slipping out of my physical body, etc.  But interestingly enough, my most vivid dreams that I recall aren't based on my personal memories/experience like most dreams are, such as travelling to places that I've never seen before, etc.  So perhaps I'm projecting in these dreams and just not realizing it?  A lot of these dreams involve me going into the mountains...lots and lots of those....lol, as well as the ocean, etc.  I've always wondered where these dreams "come" from, so I'm certainly open to the idea that I was having OBE's and just not knowing it at the time.

I've got the first set of the TMI Gateway Series on the way...I'm hoping this will open some doors in my mind...I'm certainly anxious to give it a go, anyhow...lol.

A question to anyone reading this...have you ever attended the Monroe Institute, or personally known anyone who has?  I'd love to give the Gateway Voyage a try sometime, especially if the Hemi-Sync stuff works for me here at home.

Hi Byron,
cause you found this site you know there's Bruce's new book and there's the TMI and I can recommend both.
>>>Once I finally came to acceptance of my "greater" self (spring of '04...seems like a lifetime<<< Exactly what I feel! Also 2004 (TMI Gateway Voyage), seems also to be a lifetime ago for me!
So just stay here and I think you'll find some interesting stuff! (Unfortunately there was that crash and many posts are gone...)

P.S. Yes, did the TMI GV not in U.S. but in Europe, and it really changed my life! Was at the TMI in May for Lifeline, lovely people there, and it worked! It's worth a try I think. Some say that the GV done in the institute is much more powerful than at home, but that might vary personally. And again, there's Bruce's new book...

Byron,

Welcome and thanks for joining us in our journey towards wanting more C1 knowledge.

I've been using the hemi-sync tapes nightly for the past 6-7 years and find them helpful for many reasons. More recently I used Moen's CD's and unexpectidly found myself doing a retreival while relaxing on the bed.

I mean more than C1. I got a little shook when my pc announced it was going to shut down.

Jean, your computer shut down when you were replying to me?  Not that I should be surprised, as that's what happened when I registered on this board earlier today....I had just clicked on the e-mail link to verify my registration and was in the process of changing my password when  -blip-  my machine just shut down... (no power failure or anything like that)  When it booted back up, I was already logged on to the board, but the registration e-mail I got was no longer there ???  Good thing I didn't need it anymore...LOL.

Too weird, huh?  Well, that's the story of my life, having all these "coincidences".  I could go on all day about this sort of thing, but I think you get the idea  Grin

Byron,

It's normal for my pc to give me all kinds of crazy messages and then proceed to do it's thing of shutting down, but threating me first,LOL. But this time it just threated and allowed me to proceed. Thank you, thank you, thank you. That's why I rarely respond directly on the board, that and the fact that I can't spell worth a darn and leave out key words on a regular basis. My highly technical #3 son, who does not believe in all this stuff-yet, gave me the best advise I ever had concerning my pc and that was never to-never-never to talk bad about my pc when I was in front of it Wink.  That might be why, in spite of all its threats it continues to allow me to contribute to this site.  Thank you, thank you, thank you, good boy. Byron,

Guess what??? The sucker froze a soon as I posted my responce-guess I can't even write anything negative about it either Roll Eyes Grin.

Anyhow, I wanted to mention that I belong to the Monroe Institute and have for a number of years. Today I received 2 more CD's, from the Network of Light and Mind Food series.  I'm anxious to listen to them--now if I can only get a CD player to work a week or two, gone through 6 since January.  That's why I'm still listening to Monroes tapes and rely on one battery operated Cd player for Moen's.

Oh well, Love and kisses to all, again glad you found us Byron.

Jean

welcome Byron I think u will like it here; I've been here since 2001 and the family just keeps getting better and bigger! I think we all deal with a sort of religious hangover thing as we go along..I know for myself there can seem like 3 of me; one from the old school, and one from the new, then theres the one who brings them both together so that they don't all talk at once... Grin

you know Jean, it's funny really... Roll Eyes ever since our board crash I've been learning so much about technology it feels like my head is twice as big with the new info. coming in; wonder if I can utilize my new tech head in the afterlife Grin?

Byron, thought I'd mention I agree with Ryan that obes and dreams are so closely related that a time has come upon me where I no longer can differentiate between them; I just wake up, write it down and say thank you thank you as theres always something to treasure, as I suspect you have some rather interesting travels to report. would love to hear all the details if u get a chance.
love, alysia...

Alysia,

Just received TMI Focus and an reading Lauie's article on unpublished work of her dad's about defining overveiw, specifically "A Different Overview (D/O). It's all about, guess what? CHANGE. Danged good but I'll get back to it as it seems to be describing what's happen' here.

Tried the chat to connect with you, but it didn't seem to work for me. Bottom line is-looking forward to your book being published in 2/06. Much Love and appreciation.  Jean Kiss

Again, thank you all for your warm welcome   Grin

It's been a real pleasure reading through the posts...too bad that the crash erased a lot of what was here before...anyone know what caused it in the first place?

Yes, I'd like to share some of my "travels" as I have the time, especially since some of my dreams have to do with events that haven't happened yet, or otherwise outside my personal experience...like the one I had a few months back of me (more likely "me" being someone else) visiting someone in Seattle (I don't know anyone in Seattle in r/l btw) and experiencing a major earthquake, which was a vivid experience, indeed.  When I have the time I'd like to share this and others that I've had in the past.

A question...I've always thought that having an OBE was a "real-time" event...that is, leaving your body and going somewhere else in that actual timeframe, such as visiting family in another place and later verifying what they were doing...so what is it when you experience stuff like I have being another place as well as another time, as well being in the eyes of different people (which is what I seem to experience sometimes)?  So many questions and not enough answers...I guess that's what we're here for... Grin

As for ghosts, aliens, etc, I can't say that I've had too much experience with those, although I did share an apartment with someone a while back whose previous tenant was an elderly lady who had passed on before we moved in...we had the usual weird stuff happen like lights turning on/off, etc, but we seemed to "make peace" with her within a few weeks and she apparently went on about her way...but this happened before I started taking this kind of thing seriously, so I never really gave it much thought back then.

Anyhow, gotta go for now...but I can't wait to share more with y'all   Smiley

Hi Byron,

To answer one of your questions about OBE's, I recently had an OBE that went into the future so to speak.  Or rather, the event I experienced was a future event that happened about 12 hours later that day.
