Hi
I like your question and I don't think you have missed anything.
Personally when I come to a board like this I hope to see more "How to " stuff. I don't have vast experiences to offer and what little I have offered is insignificant for most folks, but that is what I do look for. Often through reading between the lines.
I compare this search to the search I might do if I want to find out about something to do with my car and how it runs. Hopefully I can find something that says "Step A, Step B,..., Step N" either for troubleshooting or for fixing (I can't do the fixing but I like to try to be informed as best I can).
I always wish to do the same when I am trying to learn how others explore alternate experiences. But often I see people offering "The Truth" instead. With cars, we know there is no "Truth" but there are solutions to temporal problems.
well maybe the same is an accurate description of Jesus. Maybe Jesus is just a temporal solution.
I think the problem is that we get into these discussions (Like about who saw the real jesus) without understanding how the mind works, how concepts work, how beliefs work.
In math, we can build a system with premises and with rules of inference. well maybe we do the same thing with our belief systems. We build parallel systems because we start with different premises. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc. all just parallel systems. Is one of them really TRUE? The problem with answering that is that they all work. They are all effective structures. You can't claim that anyone is the TRUE one because it works, because they all work. Just because it works does not mean it is Truth. After all, cars work (even mine). The problem is that it is difficult to stand outside of a religion and see that it is a creation of the human mind.
I think the infinite knowlegde is that we can create different experiences by the assumptions we start with, by the premises we take.
So maybe the wise ones to look for are the ones who help you have your own experience of meeting Jesus in outer space/oobe and helping you decide for yourself what is real.
We have these problems because we simply do not comprehend the power of the mind to create.
