starting out basics?
May 20th, 2005 at 11:09am

can someone exaplin to me what thier basics are for phasing ?

I've almost had a OBE, i got to the point of full body vibrations from within a deep trance, but the sensations scared me. this happen many years ago. i still meditate, i had a really nice meditation last week in which... my awareness kinda shifted. kinda like inbetween sleep and my awareness of myself was pushed against somthing.

i really can't describe it, but i am curious because this sounds much easier.

is the trick the intent? asking for help?

do you relax and create a mental image or just watch the colors? i would love to read each persons methods.... thank you,

take care and best wishes.

I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about in phasing but I'll give it a shot for the sake of conversation and maybe others will add to the thread.
I know you are conscious throughout though, unlike dream obe/exploration. the first time I did it was a surprise for me. I asked Bruce even what it was all about and he said it was phasing. it was at the time of the 9/11, several weeks after. I was curious if anyone was needing retrieval or if there was anything I could do to help. I'd heard rumor there were still ghostly figures being seen there. I started using the imagination which was my basic way to get there. just waiting for whatever image might pop up, then I would follow it. almost before I had verbally or set about to state my intention (I like steps to take, 1 thru 5, whatever, only sometimes the steps get bypassed, I assume this is phasing.) before I could chug along thru my steps a man's face popped up for the viewing, covering my entire inner tv screen of the mind we might call it. first time I saw this kind of thing in waking consciousness so I didn't dismiss it, I just kept looking at his features and try to pick up his feelings as assumed I was already at the locale I had thought I would "fly" to. since his face covered the whole screen, was wondering how to fit my form in there, let him know I was there. I fit myself in as a small light flitting in front of him, dancing, all the while trying to think how to get his attention, as thats your main job when retrieving. finally he notices me and grins because I'm like a bug admiring his face, admiring his devotion to the building he saw spread out in pieces around him. I keep asking can you see me? flit, flit, dive, I'm here! I'm here! we have ourselves a moment and I share his feelings and ask if he knows he's crossed? he certainly did, he said, but he'd kind of gotten lost a bit in the sadness and was taking a moment to say goodbye to what used to be. seemed he really loved working there, had some pride around it, some devotion. workers approached to him and that was that.
anybody else here that can talk about phasing?

woah that is really cool. is that your primary way of retrieving ?

i came really close once to having what many would consider a traditional OBE, but the vibrations were very real for me and i got scared. I'm going to keep trying to do basic energy work, I really like Robert Bruces NEW system.

I also have some hemi-sync, the first gateway series. i'm going to start trying those again, maybe just wave 1 for a couple days then go to # 2 ?

this is the hardest part for me, deciding what to do and sticking with it.

To me phasing is a matter of changing your focus. This is what happens when you listen to a hemi-sync tape or when you follow Bruce's methods for retrievals/contacts. We phase/shift our focus many times everyday when daydreaming, etc. It's just an altered state of consciousness.

i think i'm good at that Smiley

i know somtimes i can phase or kinda... zone out, stare at nothing and focus inwards... its kinda like relaxing to me.

i also daydream quite abit. i hope to soon be able to purchase the home study course and mp3 cd to help me out as well.

what do you all focus on when you are shifting your awreness ? do you look at the wall ? or must yo close your eyes ?

i used to try and stare at the wall then close my eyes.its not really staring as my eyes are not focused on anything...

is phasing like when your sitting in a really dull lesson (lol) and you daydream without knowing it, suddenly your somewhere else doing it, but you only relise it when u snapp back??

except for phasing you actually know your've gone somewhere else. Is that possible because that would be really really good.

the thing i like it it looks and feels so real, its like you were actually there...mabey you are...

if someone could explain i'd be very grateful, cheers

Hey!!!!  Can I add something to this?? I don't know anything about this topic specifically.....but I was witness to a very scarey, scarey thing once.....oh...about 2o years ago. I was in a room with some friends....and we were talking about trances and stuff...one guy claimed that he could put anyone into a trance state. One of the girls said that he could never do such a thing to her because she said she had too strong of a mind for anything like that. He dared her...and she took the dare. They sat cross legged on the floor, facing each other for several minutes....staring into each other's eyes. Several minutes had passed....when suddenly this girl literally propelled herself backwards......TOWARDS ME!!!!!! (scared me half to death cux I didn't want any of that scarey stuff coming towards me!!!!)....she was still crossed legged....one of her hands was on the floor moving her while she held her other hand across her eyes....she was screaming hysterically. When she was finally able to calm down enough to talk about what happened, she said that she saw a very dark, evil shadow rise from within this guy and was coming straight at her.....she was hysterical over this...and I don't think she was ever the same again. We were all very scared over what we had seen that night....and, every one of us who were in that room that night and saw this, were all plagued with evilness around us for months and months later. I for one, became really sensitized to evil vibrations...and I could feel when there was something evil in a room, if it should be there at the time. You know, there were times that I would plain refuse to enter a room because of what I could feel. In fact, this is the time period when I was being attacked physically, in a sexual way (sorry....I'm not trying to sound crazy here...this is really personal stuff here, but the truth, no matter)....while I would sleep.
I don't know anything about what this thread is about....but I think that it would be safe to say that a person should be careful.....I think that our bodies become available to those opportunist seeking spirits when we place ourselves into any kind of meditative state....and you should learn some basic control techniques prior to pursuing this.

______

sounds about right to me Ryan. and when u get there if you get a few surprise interactions that was not in your expectations, I believe you've made a genuine connection with what I call the collective mind where we are one in spirit. not only that when u snap back it still may not seem real to you what just happened. so you keep studying. later on you can find the meaning to you personally what just happened. it often tells me something about myself that I did not really consciously know before, for instance, it does tell me I am more than this body. that is the really cool part of it. love, alysia

_____

theres an unwritten law of the spirit realm that many do not know about until they start an intense study of it. this law is infallible. no spirit has access to your body, your mind or your soul unless you give them the power to do so by believing that they can somehow have dominion over your will. The word to say when confronted with anything fearful can be many different words with the same meaning. basically, the word is NO! Christians stand on Jesus's words if they feel weak, they rely on the fact that he has defeated this world so therefore they thrust their faith there. it works as I've done it.
theres other ways and words if it is protection you seek:1) placing a white light around yourself through the imagination can work well
2) Seeing it not there (Bruce's words) very good way of not believing in something, thus giving it no power. power is in believing in something.
3) try love zapping; what sends u fear, you project love back because fear and love do not inhabit the same space together.
4) utilizing the basic premise you must command respect from all life as to how you will be treated and not accept less than loving and respectful treatment of yourself, for you mystic, you deserve the best. knowing you respect yourself nothing can enter your aura which is not in agreement with your self respect, you will attract only friendly guides and helpers of a similar vibration to yourself. I'm not disputing your story; these things happen on occassion. I don't believe in evil though, I think your friend the hypnotist faced a challenge which he could not resist where he needed to prove his power. I hope he got over having to prove something as it was most rude to do this, even if she did sort of ask for it. we all have mind powers we haven't used yet.

Thanks Alysia!!  Wink...that what good advice!! I don't know anything on OBE stuff yet.....other than what I have experienced thru dream power. And you know, what you said on protecting yourself with white light....or love' against bad...I have found to be really helpful and true with things that I have had to deal with, as I have used these very techniques to protect myself when I go to sleep....although I don't have to do that anymore because whatever was chasing after me, seems to have given up. I had learned how to call on the power of God to help me during those times while I slept when these confrontations came up. You see, I am at my most vulnerable when I sleep, as with most of us I think....but I really believe that at one time there was a battle going on for my soul. And I was being attacked when I was at my weakest point...when I would sleep.
I didn't  realize that one could use the same techniques when attempting OBE. So...thanks for that!!!!!
Just as much as I believe in 'good'..I also believe that there is bad, or evil. I believe that these 2 powers are in confrontation all the time.....whether there is actually a 'devil', well, I don't know about that. Is that just an imaginary figure to symbolize 'bad'? But then why couldn't there be a devil....when we do acknowledge a 'God'?
I do know that we shouldn't be dwelling on evil or bad as we go thru life....but, I think that we should be aware of it.
Maybe I just babble too much!!!!!    Grin

Hi all,

Regarding meditation I have personally found it helpful to explore different types of meditation.  There are so many kinds of practices with different gifts to offer.

If you are afraid of undue mental influences you can start with some guided imagery recordings which focus on very positive imagery.  These can help you personally in many many ways and teach you how to relax and better use your imagination.

Exploring quiet meditation such as Zen can be very centering and help you with concentration.

Exploring sound with mantras in group meditation can introduce you to strong group energies.

Recordings which include brainwave entrainment can help you reach specific states of consciousness.

I personally believe it is important to ground yourself in positive thoughts, always seek positive helpers and guidance wherever you go, and you will have no reason to fear.

Heres something then...

The reason i describe the comparison of phasing with sitting in a boring lesson is because that was when the most real one i have ever had happened...

I was sitting in English class, it was a nice sunny day, and i just had my head on my hand rested and staring in front of me, and without relising untill i got back i was somewhere else..

I still remember it cleary, it was really vivid and so real which after what you said alysia makes me thik it was probly a real connection. anyway all i remember was getting hit by a truck, i dont actually remember the bit of getting hit by the truck, all i remember was being trapped agasint the wall and the font of it. It had the classic front white drivers compartment, then a seperate rear green open top cargo box type thing, reminded me of a waste disposal truck. Actually come to think of it, i was watching from like another persons view of me wedged inbetween this lorry and wall, but floating half way down the lorry and slightly up.

not sure if that makes sense but was real as. Just wondered what you guys think this could mean??

This happened just under 2 years back now.

cheers Ryan

Very interesting, Ryan,

and particularly strange and vivid for a "daydream," so there must have been an important message there for you....

I've had this sensation myself Ryan, as if I am watching events from another's point of view. sometimes I think of this as the "observor" part of the mind developing. heres another thought;  try to get your head around this: the premise is we are all one being experiencing being individuals. look at it from a spiritual sense. one spirit. when we fly or explore our innermost minds we could be living many lives all at once and this life scene may have happened exactly as you seen it. love, alysia

that is how I kind of think it is...

I really like your posts Alysia! Do you have OBE or would you consider that you just use phasing?

can anyone explain this 3d blackness?

thank you so very much.

Hey Ryan-
Many years ago I was teaching a statistics class and I got to wondering where everybody went. The bodies were there, but often it was lights on, but nobody home. So evidently they were "phasing".  Ha! I's thesame place I used to go ... but that's another story.

Mystic Dreamer- Alysia's advice for protecting yourself is very much to the point. The spirit world has absolutely no power over us unless we allow it. Some spirits try to create fear in us so that they can use that to gain control, but unless you buy into the imges they cast, they're nothing but passing thoughts without any ability. You are not alone, I'm sorry to say, in having been forced to defend yourself from a sexual predator while asleep. However, that was a physical attack on the material body, and evidently you handled it. Psychic attacks while asleep are far less dangerous.

As an example, a few years back I attended a convention on the Queen Mary, and with my wife I stayed in a stateroom on board. (The ship is used as a hotel.) Just outside the cabin door was a cold spot in which there was a strong odor of burnt fabric, but it didn't extend down the hall, nor into the cabin. At night I was visited in my dreams by a half dozen children, ages from toddlers to early teens. They offered to play with me and have fun if I would agree to stay there with them. I refused, saying that I had my own life to lead. (This was an emotional response, not a conscious waking response.)  The kids were angry, and some seemed disappointed, but they could do nothing. My wife complained, in the morning, that she had slept poorly. The next night I got the same treatment, and gave the same response. The third night was spent ashore in a nice Best Western motel, where my wife was vastly more comfortable, and I had no further bother.  (Anyone interested in doing a retrieval there? Go for it!)

In the same way, so long as you are your own person, you are bulletproof. There are three simple ways to armor yourself. First, be joyful, don't let anyone rain on your parade. Second, be open minded, aware and honest, especially to yourself, even if it means learning things that are not what you prefer. On the other hand, don't get stuck in your head to the exclusion of feelings, or vice versa. Third, be loving. The world is like the human body, and has its share of arm pits and rectums. They are necessary, but you don't have to dwell on them. It's all lovable, but we can hang out with the parts that we prefer.

Carried to their extreme, these are the properties of God, and in each of us they are the degree to which we join God in the work of the world. Those scary spirits are generally terrified in themselves. Usually they have forgotten who they truly are and are afraid to find out. Your joy, wisdom and love is not only good protection for you, but it's a gift to them by your example.

dave

 ____
I like your website forum Shawn. I rarely phase but consider it to be by far the more advanced  type of exploration due to what I read about Monroe later doing just phasing and no more out of body trips. I read books, have a few favorite authors and try the suggestions they make. Monroe was the first book I read that got me interested in exploring like he did. I  personally do a sort of meditation state where I'm waiting for some understanding to come in about something.  usually I'm writing something down or exploring the double meaning of a word. something like that. I don't have the 3d blackness, but suspect it is tied into what I do, when I'm waiting to make the connection to greater awareness. it's like suspended animation in a way. I have gone obe a few memorable times. come to think of it, once in a retrieval I experienced zooming through dark space, maybe that's the 3d blackness. it did seem dimensional in the sense of being relocated somewhere else, but I always thought the fast rate of speed of movement I was traveling at is what caused there to be no sight seeing along the way. lol. it's a limited viewpoint I offer.
the easiest way for me is to explore lucid dreams which is really close to what obe is.
cheers, alysia...
