Hey Ryan- Many years ago I was teaching a statistics class and I got to wondering where everybody went. The bodies were there, but often it was lights on, but nobody home. So evidently they were "phasing". Ha! I's thesame place I used to go ... but that's another story. Mystic Dreamer- Alysia's advice for protecting yourself is very much to the point. The spirit world has absolutely no power over us unless we allow it. Some spirits try to create fear in us so that they can use that to gain control, but unless you buy into the imges they cast, they're nothing but passing thoughts without any ability. You are not alone, I'm sorry to say, in having been forced to defend yourself from a sexual predator while asleep. However, that was a physical attack on the material body, and evidently you handled it. Psychic attacks while asleep are far less dangerous.
As an example, a few years back I attended a convention on the Queen Mary, and with my wife I stayed in a stateroom on board. (The ship is used as a hotel.) Just outside the cabin door was a cold spot in which there was a strong odor of burnt fabric, but it didn't extend down the hall, nor into the cabin. At night I was visited in my dreams by a half dozen children, ages from toddlers to early teens. They offered to play with me and have fun if I would agree to stay there with them. I refused, saying that I had my own life to lead. (This was an emotional response, not a conscious waking response.) The kids were angry, and some seemed disappointed, but they could do nothing. My wife complained, in the morning, that she had slept poorly. The next night I got the same treatment, and gave the same response. The third night was spent ashore in a nice Best Western motel, where my wife was vastly more comfortable, and I had no further bother. (Anyone interested in doing a retrieval there? Go for it!)
In the same way, so long as you are your own person, you are bulletproof. There are three simple ways to armor yourself. First, be joyful, don't let anyone rain on your parade. Second, be open minded, aware and honest, especially to yourself, even if it means learning things that are not what you prefer. On the other hand, don't get stuck in your head to the exclusion of feelings, or vice versa. Third, be loving. The world is like the human body, and has its share of arm pits and rectums. They are necessary, but you don't have to dwell on them. It's all lovable, but we can hang out with the parts that we prefer.
Carried to their extreme, these are the properties of God, and in each of us they are the degree to which we join God in the work of the world. Those scary spirits are generally terrified in themselves. Usually they have forgotten who they truly are and are afraid to find out. Your joy, wisdom and love is not only good protection for you, but it's a gift to them by your example.
