I was wondering, have any of you used lucid dreaming to learn more about the afterlife? If so how does it help you, and how do you have lucid dream? I have seen on the Monroe Institue has hemi-sync program for lucid dreams. Do any of you have it, if so does it work??

Dear S.S. , Years ago after achieving a state of grace through doing a Course In Miracles(reading), and staying authentic and in a high state of integrity, I was able to do lucid dreaming. It took a few months of journaling and demanding my subconscious to listen and help out in a sleep state but it happened. Now that I have done more reading and the Monroe Institute, and the Silva Method and the Heartlife Institute youd think Id be lucid dreamig 24/7. What I have found is that the less peaceful and satisfied I am with myself, the least amount of dream control I can do, it seems to be hit and miss. The material I have enveloped into my life has been powerful and yet perhaps I dont feel deserving because I have lost the way and my lucid dreaming is not as powerful. But when I was lucid dreaming I got information about my life now, I never asked about the afterlife because I knew anywhere else would be better then here, at least easier. what my minimal lucid dreaming experience has taught me is that programing your intent before you sleep will bring the information you seek, mostly symbolicaly, and the hemi-sync tapes work if you dont put so much pressure on yourself. Somehow there has to be a balance of believing and letting go of expectaion. What your brain needs to know from you is that you absolutely will not give up, keep programing!! Laurell

briefly, yes it works. I've never used hemi sync but I'm sure it's helpful. I'm just persistent, is only reason I learned it or stumbled into it through sheer curiosity. I'm in agreement with Laurell here. just add my 2 cents. the dream landscape doesn't change much when you finally become lucid within it. generally, you become lucid when questioning yourself if this is real because something looks out of whack and u can say to yourself at that point, oh, I see, I'm dreaming. this gets interesting then as you can get some great subconscious information about yourself, maybe some relationship or problem you're working on consciously has a chance to show up here, a solution is presented perhaps. many inventions have been created this way by paying attention to the dream landscape and memorizing the symbols or conversations that took place.
Intentions set before sleep work well for me. if I intend to do a retrieval or visit a family member I can be successful if the intention is strong enough. if you continually discount the dreaming landscape by saying it is only a dream and not important, your subconscious tries to honor your belief or disbelief, by not giving you a dream as it's not important anyway, right? if on the other hand you start to use dreaming in a conscious and curious manner to explore yourself you are telling your subc. it's ok, it's important and you can make new discoveries and possibly even have the illusive obe experience where it feels you are in a more subtle body and floating or flying. it's a feeling of freedom when this occurs. Nothing can compare to this freedom from the restraints of our physical body and a knowing we are more than bodies. explore! it's your life. listen to your heart. follow your dreams, trust that guidance is available....

Lucid dreaming works really well for
me as a starting point for exploring the
realms of the afterlife. From the lucid
state I can either switch attention to
my body to OBE or request to do a retrieval.

I'm not sure about the Hemi-Sync LD CD's.
My experience with other HS CD's is that
it may increase your chances of become lucid
the night you use them.

LD's are a phenomenal way to explore the afterlife in my opinion because they can be very vivid. But they are not necessarily the easiest route. Bruce Moen's imagination method appears to have a higher rate of early success.  It can take several months to a year to get good at LD'ing. Although, I'm not sure how CD's or other type aids could provide quicker results.
