I vaguely remember the "eye switch" method
from one of his books. You said its in
his first book "Voyages into the Unknown"
Chapter VI? I couldn't find it on my first try.
Perhaps, can you specify a page
number. Hopefully, I've got the same edition.

Thanks for your patience in showing us
where the 'eye switch method' is mentioned.

I agree that it is confusing and it is not elaborated on anywhere else in the book as far I can remember. But, we can gather that the technique either means one of two things. Either he actually switches between the left and right eye (which doesn't seem right to me) or he switches between his regular sight and his third-eye. People practice this to learn where there third-eye is and how look to through it. If he found this switch method was useful, I would've expected he would've included it in his guidebook, which I don't think he does.
We're going to need his input to get the final word on this unless it happens to be an esoteric TMI technique that a TMI graduate would know about.

Hi All,
         I started doing this some years ago, and it works great once you 'get it working'. The first really vivid experience I had, I was staring into the 3-D blackness, with no sense at all of my physical surroundings. Suddenly, there was a huge 'eyeball', about the apparent size of a beach ball, with a green iris, right there in front of me, just staring. It was so vivid and 'real' it startled me right out of the state.....  I am sure it wasn't an actual 'eyeball', but rather my translation of being non-physically observed, if you know what I mean. I have since learned not to be startled by this sort of thing
