Dear Mark,
Until recently I was a regular poster on Robert Bruce's site. I also have dabbled with my complete set of Gateway CDs, but have yet not explored them in a longterm disciplined way. I think they're great, but just too time consuming. I have had one retrieval experience and a few OBEs that thrilled me at the time. But upon further reflection, I reluctantly came to the conclusion that they were nothing more than lucid dreams fueled by wishful thinking. By plunging into discussions and debates on this site, I hope to soften my skeptical mindset enough to work with the tapes in a motivated and disciplined manner.
But the real reason I'm replying to your post is ask if you own the new book co-authored by Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer, "Mastering Astral Projection." From browsing it, I have the impression that it is the best book of its kind ever written. I'll let you know if it works for me. My preliminary plan is to build motivational momentum to work regularly with the Gateway tapes first. After all they cost me over $500! My intincts tell me that the R. Bruce-Mercer book woiuld be more effective. So I'm a bit torn. I'd recommend that you not buy this book until you've had a chance to browse it, say, at at Barnes and Noble bookstore.
If you're wondering why I've so far overlooked Bruce Moen's new book, it's not from lack of respect. In fact, long before I ever heard of Bruce Moen, I once experienced a mystical flash insight that the afterlife could be explored through a disciplined use of the imagination. That insight is what drew me to this site. But Bruce Moen's book is not designed to cultivate OBEs and I think I need a genuine OBE to be convinced about this type of afterlife exploration. If my priority approaches fail, I'll definitely buy Bruce Moen's new book and give his approach a shot. Good luck with your quest.
