Retrieving
Aug 3rd, 2012 at 10:21pm

I haven't done a lot of retrievals even though I took Lifelines.

Before Lifelines, I did a very simple retrieval of a friend who died of prostate cancer. He was heavily drugged when he passed and all I needed to do was get his attention, which I did by sending PUL to him, and then a white light appeared and he disappeared into it. I told my partner that I thought this man had passed, because of the retrieval experience, and it turned out that he had indeed passed that evening.

Much more recently, just a few weeks ago, someone I was very close to passed after a bout with meningitis; I had talked to her on the phone only days before, and when I found out she was in a coma I decided to check in on her as best I could. I don't seem to be able to access the Afterlife unless I'm under quite a bit of duress.

So....I found her sitting in what felt like F22 or F23, which made sense given she was in a coma. She was surprised and happy to see me, and we decided to take a walk. Since I only get impressions of things, all I can say is that we ended up in a park-like setting, with green grass and a path. Sure sounds like the Park in 27, but that would surprise me a little since she was quite Catholic. Maybe she didn't know she was dead yet?

She was still hooked up to life support at this time but I believe "she" had already left and her body was just being maintained by machines. I'll be curious to check in on her again some time and see if she ended up in a BST or not.

Hey Mystic,

Because you've taken Lifelines, do you think it makes a difference in how you view your belief that these retrievals are real experiences compared to before, or do you still have some doubt?  I'm just curious since I haven't been to TMI at all.  (I'd love to but just cannot afford it).  I've had two or three retrieval experiences, none with anything I could validate in the physical, but they certainly seemed like genuine experiences to me.

I'm full of doubts Smiley I doubt I'll ever really believe anything until I get there. I go on by holding my skepticism in check for all my afterlife stuff. It's hard for me to do, too. I lose it for long periods of time when some internal mental thing decides it is all totally crap. Especially when I ask for help from a psychic I get all up in arms and manage to block the whole thing. I've probably scared the bejesus out of a couple of them.
If I hadn't had two spontaneous bona-fide OBEs, I'd probably still be in the "it's all crap" category. On the other hand I'll argue til the cows come home with someone who says that spiritual experience is "Only electrical activity in the brain." I think many of us are all riding around in the same doubtful boat a lot of the time.

Yep, I hear ya.  If it weren't for a few amazing experiences which keep me locked in for wanting more, I would give up for all the lesser ones which hold so much doubt for me.  I know there is a middle ground I could shoot for and be happy about if I could only find it.  It seems there are so many more times than not where I "do all the right things" and get nothing for it, get so disappointed and feeling "why me?"  Then every once in a blue moon something amazing happens that for all intents and purposes seems like came out of nowhere, blew my mind, and the next thing I know I'm back to drooling for more.
