Since i was about 14 or so, i've had psoriasis, and around age 16 i started to make dietary and lifestyle changes on various levels; physically, mentally, and spiritual.
I've had the psoriasis since, but usually it's been minor to moderate, with only occasional flare ups. I believe this is because of the ever increasing discipline and awareness i've garnered over the years when it comes to my diet, and general lifestyle.
Part of my dietary etc. changes were based on the Edgar Cayce readings, which have helped me a lot in various areas; health and otherwise.
But, for some reason, i never really completely followed the more specific advice in this work re: healing psoriasis on the physical level.
This changed somewhat recently when i ordered a pound of American Saffron tea, and a half pound of Slippery elm bark powder--two of the most mentioned herbal treatments specifically for people with psoriasis. More specifically, in the morning as soon as one arises one should take a large pinch of Slippery elm bark powder and mix it in cool water, wait till it starts to expand and gel some, and then drink it all soon after.
Then, towards the evening, near when one is retiring, one should use about a little less than a half teaspoon of American Saffron and make a hot tea with it. In more severe cases, it was recommended to make "Saffron water" by boiling like a gallon of water and letting a large heaping teaspoon seep in same until it cools--then keeping this in the fridge and drinking as much as possible throughout the day (except in the morning when one takes the slippery elm).
Well anyways, i'm definitely noting improvement in this and other areas. Body odor and hive issues have lessened noticeably as well (i believe these are all related to the same basic issues). I don't have to run everyday to sweat in the cooler season now in order to avoid painful hives that would happen every time my body got warm (at one point this was a bit of living hell, and i spent a whole MA winter holed up in my room when i was 16).
It seems like these herbs are really helping to clean out my general system, and more specifically are healing my intestinal lining and digestive systems (Cayce linked psoriasis primarily to severe imbalances with the digestive system and more specifically to a compromised intestinal lining).
It is fast approaching a "verification" for me, and apparently Dr. Pagano has had a lot of success using the Cayce recommended treatments for psoriasis and healing people of this "incurable" and only genetic caused disease.
Just wanted to mention this for anyone else who may be having similar issues. A couple of other things which have helped: I've found that not eating ANY, or very, very, very little chocolate really helps both the psoriasis and hives issues.
Omega 3 oils seem to help as well, and I originally heard about this via more mainstream sources, but none of them ever explained "WHY" omega 3 oils helped psoriasis beyond a general "lessens inflammation" reason.
A light bulb went of in my head, and i realized that the real reason was because the omega 3 oils more specifically would coat the intestinal lining, and had a similar affect as to how Cayce explained the Slippery Elm bark worked for helping psor. It would speed up the healing of the intestinal lining and meanwhile provide a protective barrier so that waste byproducts ("toxins") wouldn't pass directly into the bloodstream via the G.I. pores.
* it should be noted that the cases and the treatments of same in the E.C. readings involving psoriasis tended to be VERY holistic in application, but with a lot of stress on right diet primarily, and then often eliminations advice (colonics, salt baths, etc), circulation help (exercise, massage, etc), attitude changes, and also sometimes spinal manipulation (ala Osteopathy or Chiropractic).
