A retrieval of Susan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had this awesome retrieval on Monday 22nd. I sat down to my usual meditation in the morning and I seemed to be pulled straight away to Focus 23. I wondered about this as it sure surprised me. Normally I like going through my routine before I “take off” but I seemed to be pulled there. So I knew that “they” had something for me to do – probably a retrieval. In F23 I usually feel like I’m in a railway station depot – but I see people with hats, gloves – like in the 1950s. They are all milling around…..walking around….not sure where to go or what to do.

I then go out of there and I’m just hanging around when I see Susan – she’s a patient at Sunshine PCU and has been there since April. I last worked there Monday 15 June and she was not so good – but then she hadn’t been good for a long time. She was looked after by her partner Wayne – who was absolutely devoted to her and spent ALL his time with her from when she was in – day and night. She recognizes me and her eyes light up and she grabs my hand and plaintively asks “where’s Wayne?” She was very dependent on him and hated him being out of her sight. She would get panic attacks if she couldn’t see him and would have to be sedated. I talk quietly to her, reassuring her that she is ok…reminding her that she knows me…we’ve talked a few times…that things will be ok….Wayne can’t get to her just then but she’ll see him some time soon…she quietens down a bit and seems reassured that I am with her….someone she knows...she still thinks that she needs looking after...that she's still very sick. I ask her if I can take her some place where she’ll be comfortable (I was told that she needed to go to the healing centre). Then something happens that is quite different to other retrievals I’ve done. She splits into an adult Susan and a child Susan. The adult Susan is taken away (?by guides) and I get the sense that she is being taken to the healing centre. I take the child Susan by the hand and emerge into Focus 27 (the Park/Reception Centre) where I see an older couple come towards her (?grandparents…?parents) and she runs up to them joyfully. I know that my job there is done.

But what I wasn’t sure of was if Susan had passed over or not. I went into hospital in the afternoon to do my shift at PCU and asked Cheryl (the coordinator) where Susan was as there was someone else in her room. I was told that Susan passed over on Thursday 18th. Of course I was stoked at being able to help someone that I knew. I also realized that I was asked to help because I was someone that Susan would recognize and would respond to me. AND the added bonus was that it was verification for me.

I had to attend a meeting with Michael (the volunteer coordinator), his boss, the nurse in charge of the Palliative Care Unit and three other PCU volunteers. One of the questions that Michael asked the nurse in charge was "how do you let volunteers know when patients have died? Do you have a list or something similar?" I had to keep my mouth shut because I wanted to say "i get told in meditations". I did share my retrieval with him later. To say he was surprised is putting it mildly. He doesn't disbelieve me as he knows that my experiences are 100% true for me but he doesn't know how to get the recounting of the experience past his own belief systems. But i'm working on him - at least he loves listening to them.

That's so excellent Irene. Well done. I especially like the moment where her separate beingness splits into two distinct identities. I think that when we look into our selves, we are all made up of more than the just one. Your retrieval really shows  an understanding that we are not made up of "I", but are more made up[ of the "All". Keep up your good works.

Hi Irene,

I am just so thrilled for you!  I know how much you've been wanting to have real and meaningful experiences and how diligently you've been working on your meditations.  I think this one is so great and it has wonderful verification.  It must have been a neat experience to get to retrieve someone you actually know and have worked with.  You know what fulfilment you get from something like that.  I especially love that you were led to do this, it wasn't something you were trying specifically to do with Susan.  This experience has a lot of meaning!

Love,
Vicky

Very nice, my friend. I think this represents the resolution and peace within you that has always been there, but sometimes forgotten. I love your grace and generosity, and am so pleased for you.

Thomas - thanks for reminding me of stuff that I sometimes forget.  Vicky - I sure hope this inspires you to continue with your own exploration in more depth.
Hawkeye - thank you for your kind words.

Love

This is such an interesting retrieval; I keep coming back to it. The experience of witnessing the different aspects of the individual split off and go in different directions is so fascinating.

So many times you see different retrievals of the same individual by different retrievers and the accounts don't always agree. Maybe we all have many different aspects and what aspect one person sees(experiences) in a retrieval is not necessarily what another sees. Of c ourse, this is like life in C1 only magnified and expanded. But if each retrieval represents a different aspect of a person, it would explain why some stories sound different.

But to witness two aspects of one individual is pretty interesting. And both outcomes sound positive.

Hi Lucy,

That's an astute observation!  I hope Bruce, Spooky, Romain, etc etc will notice this thread and add their take on it!
