Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I hope to be able to contribute to this community. I am not usually a book-poster, but I wanted to get this out right away. I promise to try not be so long winded in the future.
Also, I apologize if this is the wrong place for this kind of post.
My first reason for registering was to convey a message: I have been reading your books Mr. Moen and I have to say they have really hit me just right. I've read a good many books on the subject of consciousness exploration (including Monroe's books) with much love for them and what they taught me over the last 5 years or so. But none spoke to me more personally and clearly than your books. I bought Voyages into the Unknown on a whim. After I read that, I hurried up and bought the rest of the series. So I wanted to thank you for writing your books.
I can remember teaching myself to fall asleep willfully and to have what I thought of as controlled 'waking dreams' when I was younger; not realizing that I was learning to have altered states of consciousness on my own. After trying to talk to my mother about it I learned that no one else did these things, so I stayed quiet about it and it eventually stopped, though I could still put myself to sleep with ease no matter what state of mind I was in.
Then, one day some years back a friend handed me a printed copy of the on-line Treatise on Astral Projection. Intrigued, I started gobbling up all the media I could on the subject. I found my way to TMI and its products and set out on the at-home Gateway voyage CDs. Having read all this stuff and more or less forgotten my childhood waking-dreams, I realize now that I had certain set expectations (despite all the advice against just such a thing.) I became very aggravated with my progress in my explorations.
Then I read your book. I found in its pages parallels to my own experiences. Old doors opened, filling me with wonder. I set aside my expectations, followed earlier paths of intuition and found myself developing my own previously atrophied ability to have waking dreams again, which I now know are experiences of altered states of consciousness. You helped re-awaken my missing childhood wonder and your second book, Journey Beyond Doubt taught me acceptance of what I already had within me and what I already knew worked for me.
So again, thank you. And thanks to all the people who helped bring your books to us.
