Living with Ghosts
Aug 22nd, 2008 at 6:27pm

We had just finished moving into our rental home. The house was over 100 years old sitting on the original farmland in rural west central Wisconsin. It was a sunny June afternoon, I had finished sliding our bedroom dresser drawers into place, admiring the old hardwood floors and the simple design of the two story farm house.
I took my glasses off and set them on top of the dresser, as I turned to walk away, I saw out of the corner of my eye, my glasses slide across the top of the dresser and fall on the floor. No way! I thought. There’s a ghost in the house. Surprisingly, I smiled. The smile came from years of retrieval and OBE explorations. I’m sure had it been years earlier I would have been freaked out. One of my greatest childhood fears had been seeing a ghost.
I immediately sat on the edge of the bed and relaxed, set my intention to connect with this spirit and establish some communication. We connected very easily. The spirit was the original owner of the farm. She was a very small women but full of motherly and grandmotherly energy. She was very nervous about all the moving activity and confused with what was going on. I attempted to send her calming energy and to ask her permission to stay in the home, promising to take care of it. She was to agitated at the time and did not respond to me.
I decided not to say anything to my wife and kids yet, seeing if everything would be all right. During the first week of our stay in the house, my wife sat up in bed in the middle of the night yelling, “who’s there!” She woke me up in a panic, telling me she saw someone standing in the living room. Our bedroom had French doors which opened to the living room. I tried to calm her, telling her to go back to sleep that I would check it out. This happened two more times.
During that same week my two little boys, who shared a room on the second floor started having problems sleeping. One night when I was tucking them in bed I asked my son what was bothering him that he wasn’t able to sleep. He embarrassingly told me that giant flies kept touching his hair. My other son, who had been laying in his bed, piped up and said he had seen one of the giant flies standing by his brother’s bed looking down at him. I asked him if he was sure it was a giant fly? He said no but it looked kind of like a person but was kind of see through or like a flies wings. I told them everything was going to be all right.
I figured it was time to tell my wife about the ghost and see if I could do a retrieval to help her move on and release from the house. My wife wasn’t to happy with me not telling her sooner, encouraging me to do what you do, just do it now! The next morning I connected with Emily, the ghost. She was much more relaxed and actually enjoying our company. She told me that she enjoyed sitting with my boys at night. She liked to stroke their hair while they slept. (The giant flies touching their heads) She told me she would do this with her boys, who she missed very much.
Emily’s story began to unfold before me. Her husband and neighbors had built the barn and house after they had gotten married. She loved the house and was always busy cleaning, cooking and taking care of the kids while her husband tended the farm. The scene moved to her as a grandmother, she had been very sick, very tired and not able to breath very well. Her husband had already died years before. One day she decided to lay down and take a nap, she was so tired. When she woke up she felt better than ever. She continued to busy herself with the habitual housework. Not realizing that she had died.
It was very hard to keep Emily’s attention, she was always leaving to cook or clean. I wasn’t sure how to hold her attention long enough to help shift her awareness from all her activities. It was time to ask for help and guidance.
I was told she loved family picnics down by the river and her family would be waiting to assist her transition. Using this knowledge, I was able to get Emily’s attention. She was busy preparing something in the kitchen. I told Emily that her kids where having a picnic by the river and would be waiting for her. Emily became very excited, bustling around putting things together for the picnic. I was hoping that I would get some help with this picnic idea, because I wasn’t sure what to do next.
Emily had lived during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The helpers came through providing a horse and buggy for Emily. I helped her in and climbed on myself. Emily was very excited and kept telling me how much she missed her boys. At the park, Emily was met by her boys and other members of her family. They brought her into their arms and surrounded her, they floated off over the river and faded away. Leaving me with a feeling of love and appreciation.
I told my wife about Emily and that everything should be ok now. Little did we know what was in store for us. While on a business trip, I got a frantic phone call from my wife saying she was scared crazy. Apparently, she was awakened to a man standing at the end of the bed than disappearing. She said that there was an awful smell, like something had died and was rotten in the bedroom. Frustrated and worried, I told her I would check it out and see what was going on.
That evening in my hotel room I relaxed and went to my rendezvous place to meet my guides. I asked for there assistance in finding out what was going on at the house and to help me do what was needed to bring things back into harmony. I was immediately back at the house, only I was outside by the old barn. I was standing in front of a very angry man who was dressed in what looked like homemade clothes and old worn work boots.
He kept screaming at me, “where’s my wife!” “What did you do with my wife!” I was confused and worried. I had never experienced this kind of anger directed at me during exploration or retrievals. My guides must have sensed my concern and shifted me to a place where I could collect myself. I was told that this was the husband to Emily. That he had died years before her. They held the funeral at the house and the body was shown or on display in the room we where using as our bedroom.
He had stayed at the farm wanting to be near Emily and to keep caring for the farm. When Emily had died, they basically had picked up where they had left off. He would go out to do the chores and farm work, while Emily would do her housework and prepare meals. Than I came along and helped Emily leave. Leaving him alone with a missing wife!
I was stunned, I actual came back to my hotel room amazed. I did not even think of finding out if there where others. Thinking back to all the retrievals, many of them involved more than one person. I just took it for granted that Emily was the only one there, I didn’t think she would have a husband working out in the fields. How was I going to get this very angry person to want to leave the farm and reconnect with Emily?
The next morning I met my guides and set my intention to go back and help Emily’s husband  move on and reconnect with his family. I was once again taken to the barn at the farm. We were now in the hayloft or top of the barn where they store the baled hay. Again, I was met by Emily’s husband, still very angry, telling me he wanted his wife back. I asked for guidance on what to do. I was told to tell him the truth. Tell him about the picnic. Tell him about the picnic, kept popping in my thoughts.
Emily is waiting for you down by the river, they are having a picnic. Your boys and Emily are down by the river waiting for you, I told Emily’s husband. He immediately calmed down and seemed to relax. I told him I came to take him down to the river to meet his family. I could sense he was ready to go. We walked together down the driveway and along the dirt road towards the river. As we reached the park Emily, or what appeared to be Emily and the family met her husband and surrounded him and floated over the river much like they did with Emily.
Wow! My poor wife had to endure the previous night of banging doors and the sound of an adult walking across the floors. All is well.

Super, Mikeel,

that's an amazing experience!
Just like life, it had some true surprises!
Dealing with a whole family--and they were interacting with your own family-- What a challenge!

Your Guides and Helpers were always ready as soon as you brought the situation into consciousness by explaining it.
(I'm just sort of thinking out loud here.)

Your calm manner must be the key.-- So you didn't have to stop and 'emit' PUL every time they suddenly 'popped up' ? But your attitude of kindness was the basis of your relationship with them.

Congratulations! and
Thank You for sharing those wonderful retrievals!

PUL,
Betson

Mikeel
What a wonderful retrieval thank you for posting it, i could see it unfold with pictures of her/husband at the farm and what she was doing and himself too, love it.

Yes sometimes we seem to forget that those older folks who has live together for a very long time are still attached to one another (husband/wives) they are still watching for one another there.

I understand very well how it goes cause i was born on a farm as some of my family members. Most of those big houses are the place of rest for parents, before the funeral we all had  the wake in the living room for 3 days before going to the cemetery, was hard and still is hard on family; it's still happening in the area where i live now.

Again thank you for sharing this retreival

Great one Mikeel! Hope everything's allright at your home now!

When I read this:
"She told me that she enjoyed sitting with my boys at night. She liked to stroke their hair while they slept. "
I remembered an experience I recently had. I awoke from dreaming, but was still bodily asleep; I felt someone was there in my bedroom, pulling the bedcover in place, patting me softly on my head; it was my mother (she's still in the physical), treating me like a little child. She obviously was OBEing in a dreamy state and visited me.
