Hiding in a Hedge
Mar 8th, 2008 at 7:34am

Greetings,

Lots of shootings within this geographical area. Will post some questions on another thread.
The following went along for 2 1/2 hours, seemed like 10 minutes, May 8, 1:20--3:50 A M.

Preliminaries of setting intent to find a young murder victim and requesting Helpers were all taken care of. A voice said "are you ready?' and felt myself gently moving away.
Soon I was outside at night in a big yard. I began calling her name quietly and felt like I was walking randomly from yard to yard, but I think the Helpers guide one. She had possibly been running when shot so who knows how far she might keep going? I think Helpers know and move retrievers in that direction, giving them time to get set first.

She was under some shrubs sort of curled up hiding. Maybe she'd thought she was sleeping but also seemed in some shock, eyes and answers (mind) unfocussed. I told her she was OK now and I'd been sent to take her to a safer better place, the standard approach. She accepted a brief hug but didn't want to be held. She wanted to go to a friend's apartment and rest. I sensed a nod of agreement from a Helper and immediately we found ourselves in an apartment.

She was both aggitated and intent, if that's possible. I told her that cou ntless people missed her and wanted to help. She seemed to know she was not among the living here. I asked her if shw was surpised and she expressed dissappointment in her friend J---. About this time I saw some white dinner plates with a border design called 'greek key' in golds and browns. I don't know if they belong to the apt or J---- or both.

She didn't talk much, seemed to be intently thinking so I was afraid the retrieval was bogging down. I knew she loved the nearby campus so I asked her if she'd seen the new area being developed there, called "The Park'. It was special, I said and had been kept a secret.  (I wwas lying.) She said that would be nice. As she walked away she was flanked by two light fields rather than costumed Helpers.  The sense of gravity  or weight lifted and everything felt lighter.  I said to whoever might be around that I could find my own way home and did.

Bet i tend to agree with what was said here. Helpers do know where to take retrievers.
After all we do ask to do a retrieval or retrievals. So i would say they definitely know where to take us... Roll Eyes

Nice one and thanks for posting;

Bets,

What a wonderful retrieval...and bringing up the new park worked well. Do you go OOB or were you describing a  Focused Attention way of doing retrievals?

Hi Ginny,

The sense of opening a subtle body or two and moving out  is barely noticeable any more, almost just a hint for the habit of expecting it. Most of my other experiences are more definitely Focused Attention, so this retrieval might have been.  When I do retrievals for "hitch-hikers,' unexpected and alert, those must be Focused Attention,--- no time to unzip the subtle bodies !  Smiley

You say the new park campus idea worked well, but I admitted that I lied about that. So you think the end justifies the means?  I hope so, --guess I'm a better liar than I realized.  Cheesy
I think she was still confused or she would have realized no such campus plan was being developed.

Alysia said on another thread that she now always asks guidance first if a retrieval is appropriate yet. And somewhere else I just read that sudden death victims sometimes need some sleep/rest to help overcome the trauma. Perhaps I went in too early? and that is why she was sleeping?

There's always more to learn!

Bets

Just a note here on bets' original report. We all have a lot of things on our mind and I suppose when we pass over, some of our stream of thought continues. The symbolism of the white plates with "greek key" design on them was puzzling. Greek key is an art design:

http://www.artlandia.com/wonderland/glossary/GreekKeyPattern.html

The part bets didn't know at the time was that this person, who had alot on her plate, so to speak, highly busy and highly accomplished, was a member of ΦΒΚ, which uses something called a key, a small rectangular/almost square shaped piece of jewelry,  with these greek letters engraved on it as its token of membership. That sounds like a greek key to me.

Hi Bets, good one  Smiley I think since u did this retrieval, that if it had been too soon, then you simply wouldn't have been able to do it, as per the guides know these things.

I thought it's ok to lie a little, if it's not harmful act about the new addition. what I find is generating some enthusiasm, you may want to generate that feeling, with a little white lie in order to "move" the retrievee, otherwise, she might not have responded to you at all. Enthusiasm, related to PUL, is an attention mechanism whereas a too casual attitude may not be seen or felt.
so good job. love, alysia

Hi Ginny

the honors organization's website is here. The thing they call a key is shown in the drawing int the top middle portion of the page.

https://staging.pbk.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home3

more examples:
http://www.pbkkey.com/Pages/PBKkeysOrder.html

When I read bets comments, that is the first thing I thought of; I didn't know the square repeating pattern in the other link is called greek key.

I think that is interesting because it means the interpreter doesn't always tell the difference among different meanings of the same word or phrase.

ps Bets in this day and age, claiming there is some new development (in the physical surroundings) going on seems to never be a lie!
