Just for the record, here's an overview of some retrieval activity ---

Many retrievals don't get reported here because they are so similiar to ones already done.
For example when I drove a route that took me by a cemetery, I'd get some spirits who'd come home with me, and that started attracting others.    I thought I was supposed to report every retrieval here until an experienced retriever PM'd me and nicely suggested that wasn't necessary. For most spirits the procedure is rather standard.

For these I didn't have to go 'out' in any way, because talking to them from the physical was just like mental telepathy. It was sort of fun that they all had different mannerisms which reflected their personalities and their attitudes about being 'stuck.' With three or four coming by a day I got to learn in a relatively short time how to talk to different people about their situation. ( One thing I learned was that politeness on my part wasn't always the most effective means of letting them know what was happening.

Getting enough information to document them was always a problem for me because talking to strangers is not something I do well. (I can write to 'you' because I assume we share some very important interests, but talking to a stranger and having them say unexpected things was hard.) I verified a couple of names on the US Death Index, a site used by genealogists, etc. and some others had unusual last names that I found possible relatives for in the local phone book. I haven't documented as closely as I should in order to prove something.

Only two have completely turned down the opportunity to go. About 25--35% or so were at first reluctant.

When you do see a retrieval here, it's usually because
---the retriever is new and wonders if they did OK;  or
---some aspect of the retrieval is unusual and will teach other retrievers from the experience.

I started retrieving by accident when I drove by a fatal accident scene, but then read Bruce's work and use his preparation including 'active imagining' with prayer when going 'out.

What I'm trying to say is that it is not hard, it's natural, something that we have been designed for. You can do it and will find it very rewarding,---  better than that good feeling one gets from helping a litle old lady across the street!
