Self retrieval:  Advice needed
Sep 12th, 2007 at 1:11pm

For me there is not doubt about the "many parts of the self" within our consciousness.  For some reason, a part can detach from our consciousness and can bring away a force or characteristic of our consciousness.  That why self retrieval maybe a wonderful thing to "reunite ourself".

I'm generally a timid person with middle-low confidence.  I always thought that I had to build up my confidence... But I began to think that I have a "self" trapped somewhere in a low focus level (he would be  my confidence part).  I explain why I think so.

I had astral projection and lucid dreams those last years.  And often, I was a kind of observer observing myself.  This self I was observing was often over-confident and even provocative.  Sometime, I was "incarnating"  this self and I truly not feeling the same confident Here, in C1.  Recently, I realized that this self was playing "games" with other "person" like him... Kind of game described my Bruce in his Max Hell article.

I'm now wandering how I could retrieve this self (if i'm right about that).  Maybe I'm just crazy too.

I deeply desire the help and cooperation, the assistance, the understanding of those individuals whose wisdom, development and experience are equal to or greater than my own.

Hi PhantasyMan,

From my experience I've found that we are not the tight single package that our ego would like. Every subtle body has its own goals, every layer of consciousness its own knowledge, and aspects of ourselves seem to operate quite fine on their own info-finding trips.

By writing your above note, you have focussed your intent, maybe more than all the on-again--off again brief thoughts you've had about this self-retrieval possibility. So you have brought logic to the potential and you are on your way.
Have you yet used Bruce's 'active imagination' method (AI) where you just sit down as in a meditation, but lead the session by picturing yourself taking off to look for this lost aspect? Your spirit will take over quickly and create the scenes necessary if you don't try to control the images.

Such a retrieval is not dangerous or crazy, it's a smart thing to do.  Smiley  It may happen as a dream after the session you'd planned and hoped for. If it doesn't happen within a month, there may be some other reason you are separated from such an aspect--some lesson you are to learn without it.

You are very knowledgeable about many things that you've shared here, you can be confident of that !!
Many readers look forward to your posts!

Hi guys; well..i do agree with Bet here..aspect of  ourselves seem to operate quite fine on their own...Smiley

Now the trick so to speak is to talk to each one of them..and Bruce as an excellent exercise for it.
Just go through the exercise "retrieving an aspect of yourself" and you'll do fine.
I can speak from experiences that it WORKS !!!
Good luck and keep us posted.

Beston & Romain,

Thank you so much for the advice.  It will help me to know where to focus my energy and attention.  But I think there is an other thing in me that I need to solve before I'll be able to do it.

I tried few time self retrieval exercise, but without success.  I realize that there is a strong belief in me that is : "It don't/won't work.  It cannot happen to you".  I tried to speak to the aspect of myself that hold this belief, but the same thought pattern happen.

How can I bypass the belief?
