Another dream about Jesus
Jul 27th, 2007 at 1:33pm

If anyone would like to take a gander at what my dream last night meant, I'd be interested to hear what ya think.   Smiley

Every now and again I'll dream about Jesus or have a dream where I'm in His presence and I had one last night.  It was more strange and bizzare than happy and comforting like I'm used to:

In the dream I was in church and I was there with many people.  I was doing volunteering during non-service hours like cleaning up, straightening up the pews- helping in that sort of way.  There were really tall green trees and other greenery on the altar and their branches reached almost all the way up to the cross.  In Catholic churches the crucifix is pretty high up so I remember thinking in the dream that the trees/greenery were way too much and were a real distraction.  Usually there are a couple of small arrangements and candles up there so all this greenery was just totally out of place.

Suddenly (floating) I found myself way up in front and off to the side of crucifix, almost eye level with Jesus as he hung on the cross up there.  And then, to my astonishment, Jesus's face became alive and full of expression.  His eyes were still closed and He still looked like a white, marble statue, but He started shaking His head from side to side slowly and He had a horrible look of pain and suffering.  His eyebrows were furrowed and his forehead was crinkling up, and his mouth - everything was the expression of intense pain and suffering.  I was hurting for Him and I didn't know what to do, and I did know why He was doing this, etc.

Then the dream was over.  I've never had a dream like that where Jesus was ever upset or looked hurt before.  I wonder what I'm supposed to take away from it?

Thanks for any ideas.  Shocked

Hello Kate:

Below are some possible explanations within double quotation marks.

Every now and again I'll dream about Jesus or have a dream where I'm in His presence and I had one last night.  It was more strange and bizzare than happy and comforting like I'm used to:

""The below is from the Gospel of John:

"15:5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing. 15:6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 15:7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 15:8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so shall ye be my disciples. 15:9Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love. 15:10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 15:11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. 15:12This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you. 15:13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 15:14Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. 15:15No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father, I have made known unto you. 15:16Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 15:17These things I command you, that ye may love one another. "

The Gospel of John basically states that God created the universe through Christ. Therefore, everything that takes place Christ knows about.  The foilage you saw was a symbolic way of expressing that the beingness of Christ connects to all of life within this World.""

""This could mean that Christ is unhappy with what he experiences in this World. He experiences all of the negativity. He wants us to live according to love. Going by the messages I receive, we can each help increase the amount of love there is in the World, simply by allowing ourselves to feel it. Radiate love rather than whatever.""

Then the dream was over.  I've never had a dream like that where Jesus was ever upset or looked hurt before.  I wonder what I'm supposed to take away from it?

Hi Kate,

a very interesting view of a divine revelation. If one has revelations of divine persons such as Jesus or Mary, they always see them as guiding figures, or like helpers in their darkest hours, when they are lost, when they have fear or lost themselves in arguing.

This time it seems like the divine one tries to express pain, or He is unpleased with the way things work on our planet. You called the greenery on the altar as "overdone", and above the overdone greenery you were floating eye to eye with Jesus, the pain he suffers from is in my view the pain he had to suffer while being cruzified. Through being cruzified, he took away the sins that were done, are done and will be done.
In that dream, where you were in a church with many people, you were doing community service, what means, that you are responsible for the church to be looking good the next time, people will come to hear Gods word.
Candles or the arrangements on the altar normally show, that they are placed there, to praise God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost.
So that you have not overdone the greenery on the altar, it could be a sign for the fact, that the many people, who were at the church, are the ones who are overdoing in saying how close they are connected to God and Jesus, and the fact, that the greenery is like going up to the cruzifix, it could be a sign, that Jesus suffers, because there are so many people going to church and pretending to be hardcore believers.
So maybe He wanted to show you, that through community service you are doing more for the community than everyone who pretends to believe, and so you are doing in small parts something for a community, what he was doing to the world, acting and not being selfish. Remember the fact that you are the one who is liftet in a position where you are able to look in his eyes, even if they were closed. So it's like he expresses his sorrow towards you, not like it is normally, the other way around, that humanbeings turn to him for help.
But I think you should not give an answer, only experience, what effects it has on him.

That would be how I think it's possible to be understood.

Love,

pulsar

What pulsar wrote also makes a lot of sense. I've found that sometimes dreams can have more than one meaning. The important thing is what you get from them. Actually, in this case, the important thing is that you received a message from or relating to Christ. Smiley

Wow!   Cheesy Thanks Recoverer and Pulsar for your thoughts on my dream.

I haven't ever mentioned this before but I'm on of the Saturday Cantors at my church and tomorrow is my Saturday to sing.  That's my contribution to the Church, has been for almost 11 years now.  I can't imagine not singing to the good Lord and I hope I'm still able to until I'm an old woman.

And the church I go to has a lot of high profile people who are parishoners.  They treat Sunday AM service like a fashion show.  That's why I don't go to that one, I go to Saturday services.  I love where I go and I'll never go anywhere else.

I think both of you are right, He did want me to know of his suffering about how things are going on earth and what man is doing to hurt each other.  It's just very concerning to me how this is the first time I've dreamt of it being the other way around - me wanting to comfort Him when He is sad and hurt.  I still felt love and peace coming through me as I always do but never sadness like that.

And I don't know why I didn't correlate "I am the vine and you are the branches"  with all the trees right off the bat but see it now.  The trees were very green and full of lush leaves - kinda like a really bushy bamboo would look as it grows in the wild only the leaves were bigger.

We (man) have to stop hurting one another. Cry

I had a dream when I was a boy, I somehow moved through times, and the most important thing was when I had become aware that now was the time and place where Jesus was; briefly to be in his presence. I dreamt this two or three times. It was very impressive.

Wow Spooky - that's really neat.

About being in his presence, there's no mistaking it.  You just know He's nearby.  We are lucky to be able to have these dreams from time to time.  Smiley

Hi kate,

My hunch is,

Whether you have gained something specific or not, the ‘bottom line’ of his presence was to reassure you not to worry and everything is alright.
