Explaining Retrievals a bit
Mar 14th, 2007 at 1:46am

Hi all, a poster asked me what is retrievals so I said I'd venture a little explanation. Also don't forget, Bruce's books have a lot of descriptions of retrievals.

Basically the poster who pm'd me has the right idea, that it's a type of rescue activity. To do it you have to develop some sort of compassion or empathy towards humanity which is what the human does within their family unit (ideally speaking) so this extends to outside of the family, like say the other dimensions, within our thoughts, by taking a more global? outlook as we all share much the same situations and grievances so I think we all like to help out when we can.

what I've been instructed to do here is ask for guides to assist me in doing a retrieval. You can't pick up a physical presense of a nonphysical in most cases you are surfing on trust. You need to quiet the mind. practicing meditation will help you quiet the mind.
Then as you practice imagination techniques as Bruce teaches you may phase into a vista of images...this is your guidance operating..trust it.  ask what you can do..where you are suited to be, if you can help someone towards a better circumstance, say, the light, to move them on from where they are stuck.
then this is a retrieval. another type of retrieval you can practice is committing random acts of kindness while wide awake, like smiling at someone for no reason. this too, is a retrieval. a retrieval is something you give that has no expectation of return. If you do this in C1, you will do this in your sleep also.

In this way you benefit the entire human race helping to quiet down the grid out there; it's a noisy place, many are calling for help and direction. The retriever simply extends a hand. also you have to leave off judgement of people to do this. however they got theirself in a pickle is none of the retrievers business, that way you can help them move out. it's not an intellectual pursuit. it's a heart path pursuit.

so I hope I shed some light on retrievals. Smiley  be sure to read Bruce's books, he taught me basically all I know.

Thanks a ton. excellent description. So what you are saying is a retrevial is done more from a trance state not from an obe state?
I understand what you mean regarding being as helpful and kind as you can while in the physical and how the act of activly thinking about this can help you toward your goals but are retrevials done from the obe state also? Ps i'll get Bruces books eventually but i'm currently reading astral dynamics  and I have another book to read after that hehe, to many books to little time Wink

Alysia's explanation is very complete. It is the PUL that we all release into the Ether, that allows us to make contact to the non-physical, and it's inhabitants. Our PUL is like a beakon, that attracts all those void of love, in the physical, and in the non-physical. Doing retrievals, or soul rescues in the out of body state, allows one to bring back more information, by being conscious of the whole process, if one can achieve this, if not bruce's method of focused awareness, is second to none.

Dimensionally Yours,
Rick

yes you can do retrievals from obe state as well as phase state, I cannot say for sure which is best as retrievals can be involuntary, they just happen in other words, or if you advance like Monroe did to the phasing state, then that would be something to shoot for, as then it is a voluntary, intentional creative thing, so theres not so much of the symbolism and interpretation to work through as with spontaneous obes, theres that sense of "where am I?" I know I'm here, but how did I get here?

so in phasing you bypass a lot thoughts that might get in the way. its faster in other words.  right. lol. too many book, too little time.
be careful to not pressure yourself to read all the time with your stack I know you have! as you can inadvertedly cause yourself to avoid books. Pick up the one that speaks to you the most and read it slowly with no feeling of rushing to the next.
the book that will be your favorite is the one that gives you the most pleasure to read instead of a chore. It doesn't matter if you read them all. it matters though if when it comes time to downsize your book collection and you have to decide which ones to sell, which ones to keep, which to give away...you have this one stack and those are the ones you want to have placed in your coffin with you...lol...Bruce's books I want to be buried with, and Monroe's, and the Course in Miracles.

My first retrieval I was taken from my body by a guide in the traditional obe state, but it's an individual thing..I had set an intention without remembering how I did set one until later.  dream retrievals are retrievals also; they are just hard to decipher.

Thanks Rick, I wasn't sure I said that right or not. Smiley

Alysia, I think you are becomming somewhat of a mentor for me for I seem to have been pulled  into conversations with you. I feel very comfortable asking you questions thanks a ton Smiley

Also I know what you mean about the books and yes I do have a habbit of jumping around from book to book w/out fully absorbing each one hehe it's like an addiction though, when i see a good book I must have it hehe anyway i'm going to read all of astral dynamics its really great and after that mastering astral projection then i'm going to buy 1 of Bruces books which do you recomend for me?

Well off to meditate for an hour, i'll be focusing on retrevials tonight. Talk to you soon      -Pat-

hi again Kroan, I'm happy u feel comfortable, its my pleasure I assure you to express here Smiley  Bruce's first book is "Voyage into the Unknown" if you read by an author's sequential design. Robert Monroe's first book was "Journey's out of the Body."
I'm currently re-reading Monroe's first book after I first read it more than 20 years ago and it's like the first read. Don't ask me how that works..blows my mind.

My favorite I think of Bruce's is "Beyond All Doubt" just because we all go through some heavy skepticism about what we are doing, and point by point Bruce explains how he got beyond doubt, and if you can achieve this, like leaps of trust, or faith that what you are embarking on is a worthwhile endeavor you will see much more satisfaction and experiences come your way.
I would suggest doing them in sequence but since you already have a stack of books (lol)
you should research on either Barnes and Noble or Amazon the advertisements about each book, as well people leave comments, you can get an idea which to choose. or if you have the money just collect them all and stay up all night reading Cheesy

heres a tip: generate some enthusiasm the next time you set an intention to explore a retrieval or go obe, or even a self retrieval (like another life)
or generate a huge curiosity..that works...ask for higher self guidance though.
sometimes what you receive will be basically without emotions, just images. but I'm just talking about when you set your intention to do something u use the emotions to set it with and can get you there faster..the trick is once you do find yourself in an unknown location such as obe situation, that you remain calm and don't get excited or that can catapult you back to C1 too soon.

happy reading... Smiley

Hi Alysia,

You gave a fine explanation of retrievals!  Thanks for the reminders.

Do you see a very direct link between random acts of kindness and the more classic retrievals?  I'm just recalling that I got more retrieval 'assignments' when I was consciously doing the random kindnesses thing.

Love, Bets

Hi Bets.. Smiley  yes I see a relationship between C1 and being out there exploring.
it would seem the thoughts and feelings, curiosities, reflections of C1 generation produce our experiences within other dimensions..in that way we also set up ourselves for our afterlife areas as well.

our natural state as nonphysical beings appears to be a state of becoming and curious openness which lends a freshness approach to our being. the openness as spirits means belief systems become fluid and unanchored levels of being.  if we can achieve that while physical, these explorations we discuss here, and the various methods and modalities, then even the need to have these experiences disappears.
therefore what I'm saying is to choose every thought well, whether negative or positive while here as our reactions to life is what determines our experiences in other dimensions and our reactions is all basically that is under our control. hehehe, I wonder if DP looks like this guy?

Funny thing, i've been noticing that I can hear a slight ringing in my head at all times if I concentrate on it. If Im in total quiet and concentrate I find that I can always start to hear it, I find that when I focus on it it helps me get into a trance like state.

Alyssia, last night I was doing my standing meditations outside, it was a beautiful night, I was out there for about an hour, I diddnt see any images or hear anything but I did feel at one point that I was in another area perhaps, like I felt that if I were to open my eyes I wouldnt be in my backyard I'd be somewhere else. Of course when I did open my eyes I was still in my backyard hehe i'm just saying the feelings I got w/ my eyes closed was just about being in another place maybe. Any of this sound familiar?

not to be too funny here but ..lol...sometimes I get the same feeling when stepping out into a crowded parking lot and realizing I have no idea where my car is... Smiley then everything looks strange for a second, like another planet. if I close my eyes and stand still then I know where the car is as an image slips in of the route I drove into.

I used to get that feeling you're talking about when I meditated on the fact that I was here now, I was I, alive in a body and who is the I, who is the me that is here now? a feeling that I was the universe, a pinpoint of the universe would assail me, the wonder of it and some sort of grace that would let me be this, here now a human that was being.
if you noticed the beauty around you, beauty alone can slip u into a trance, I'd say you were communing with your inner god or plugging into source energy, always there if we focus on it.

the ringing you hear can be several things..sometimes I can hear my bloodstream circulating through awareness..another form of meditation is to listen to the breath going in and out quietly, this is a good one. you can also enter as a  pinpoint of awareness into your own physical body and hear the blood as a rushing river sound.

during C1 alot of folks hear ringing in their ears. I don't where that comes from, seems an external sound vibration we hear that we are usually not in tune with, like a dog's ears can pick up more sounds than us, we might be momentarily picking up external sounds. A friend used to just say someone was thinking of him when that happened. I stand still and listen to it to see if there might be a message there, maybe it's a tranmission heheheh from another planet...
my daughter and I were fighting when she was 16 and being such a rebellious one. I said something mean and made her cry and she went into her room. she walked over to her window crying. suddenly she came out of her room all happy and cheerful, our fight forgotten and said "mom! I was by the window and I heard a high sweet ringing sound which calmed me and told me everything was going to be ok, it was a beautiful sound full of gloriousness like delivered from an angel."
then I knew she and I would get thru these teenage years just fine!

love, alysia
