swimming in the dark
Feb 11th, 2007 at 10:33am

I dreamed of the big rambling house out in the "afterlife" area again.  It's been about a year I guess since I dreamed about it before.  I'm always so pleased to be living in this house and I tell my friends what an amazing deal it is.  It still seems slightly unfinished. I tell them that they simply must follow me to the back, where there is a sort of "bayeau" wilderness area.

We step onto the thin wooden platform floating on the water.  It is large but very thin and  tips a little bit as I walk on it...and before I know it I am swimming in the comfortably cool, still dark water.  It is night time.  I can't see where I am going and so I know that I must turn around to reorient myself back toward the house.

I swim quietly back over to the edge of dry land and get out of the water. When I awaken I have a feeling of calmness, no anticipation, a flatness.

Maybe so, Caryn...I don't know who the others were in the dream.  I just know I had a friendly feeling from them.  It is possible that I did more in the dream than I remember.

There was no feeling of urgency at any time, but perhaps a very short, slight moment of fear when I swam near some branches rising from the water.  At no time did I feel trapped but I simply turned around and went back.

Somehow this house is important to me there.  I have never been a property owner, nor have I ever lived or wanted to live in such a situation.  However, in my dream I keep returning to this house with a pleased feeling about it.

Perhaps a meeting place of some kind? A site for further exploration, or a place to reorient?  All I know is that there is a pleasant feeling of familiarity to it, and the house is much too large for just one person such as myself.

Okay

First what I sense from your dream is you are a Soul; that you are the essence of the feminine and therefore perceive the world from the intellectual soul point of view without the spirit of Ego (the feminine soul's Ego is God - if I can say that and hopefully it is understood in it's essence)

The big rambling house may be a past life recall.  But let us put it into the present.

Normally a house symbolises you - your temple, your body. Or it might symbolise a meeting place (it could be this very board) either one, it relates to you and your perception of it.  Being unfinished and the wilderness area suggests an open mind and freedom in thinking and a want to share the things you see.

The wooden platform :  Wood is associated with the vegetable world or the Etheric realm.  Being large but thin suggests a veil over the etheric realm (The etheric realm is where intuition is gathered - the air) and with the above wilderness suggests you lift the veil.  The platform tipping slightly suggests the etheric/air realm again.  It is on water - the intuition is in the Astral realm (Astral - spirit world) swimming in the water, its dark, cool and still with a feeling of calmness after and not seeing where you are going suggests you are using your intuition in exploring and not your logic. (True spiritual exploring is intuition and not logic)

The house is your stability because you have a pleasant feeling associated with it; it is a base in the air and the water.  The other people may be your spirit guides or it may be yourself or other people in your life but they are quietly in the background with no pressure on you.

To me the dream is not an actual experience but it is what you are feeling.  This feeling creates the symbols associated to the feeling.

Smiley Blink if you've noticed I'm practising my dream skills, please let me know what you think.

Love
Caryn

I like this interpretation very much! It seems on target because I recently dipped into a few days of a rather tired/dark condition...nothing terrible, just a few days/weeks of a low energy time in which it was necessary to rest quite a lot.

The "darkish" feeling has passed now and I am left feeling just quiet and reflective in a pleasant way, so I would have to agree with your interpretation.

Very interesting, the way you viewed the platform!

I have had a heavy, black piece of cardboard with which I became inspired yesterday to begin a collage. I have been saving it for a while, and yesterday spent some time cutting out words and pictures to use from magazines given to me by friends.  I think the dream was on Friday night, but seems related to the ease with which I suddenly began my project yesterday.

So, yes, I think you have hit the nail on the head!

Thanks for the reply Blink.

We will have days of darkness and low energy - it is the cycle of .. well the Moon really, waxing and waning on her path.  These days are good for introspection and feeling we are growing - and we are loved.

Art is great for the soul - i always feel like a child when I get my paper and colours out and glue and glitter and sticky things and make a right mess really!

Love

Hi Da-Bears (hope the Bears are performing tops  Wink)

I think with dreams a clue is how you are feeling in the dream.  So if you swimming in dark water (indicating exploring spiritually) can you recall how you felt?

You never know, you might be remembering the time when you where in your Mother's womb.  If so there would be a need to look at why you are feeling you are in your Mother's womb ..

A thought because your dark water is different from Blink's dark water .. Blink experienced being on the surface of the water and a house whereas you say you are experiencing just water ..

Maybe I was experiencing that! Because it was kind of scary in a way.. Not like anything was going to get me. I was just curious on where I was going.. Maybe I need to connect more with my mother.. Yea the bears did pretty good this year they went to the Super Bowl!! They lost but hey they did great!!
