I'm not even plugging me, I'm plugging daughter here although I surely hope my book will give somebody somewhere a little inspiration to explore our afterlife and before life or any life really! love, alysia

I love it LR!!!  She's definitely done a fantastic job.  If I saw that cover in a bookstore it would make me curious to have a quick read.

thanks Cathy, all,my daughter said she wants to know everybody's comments about the cover so she can improve herself. as a mother, she says my opinion of her doesn't count, as we always think our children are perfect! haha! so true.  Roll Eyes but she does have certain eye for color arrangement, depth and perspective overall to my unbiased? opinion.
Vicky said I should put a roadsign on the road though, and Dana & I agreed, a roadsign for a book called roadsigns, might be just the cat's meow! ...

not sure what kind of road sign..the number 11 miles? a deer road crossing? have to think about that. maybe anybody have a suggestion I can use..appreciate it. love, alysia

Alysia,

That's one serious professional cover and I suspect from what I've read from Roadsigns so far, this cover is picking up on the essence of your tales and you, especially the way that you sit by the roadside with your hands dangling and your eyes looking expectantly towards the unknow adventure down the C1 road and leading out to the Universal road. The colors too are just right and give the cover and book a dignityand respect needed for such a revolutanry theme presented by average Joe/Jane.  I love it and I can tell it was created by someone who loves and wants to do good by you.

Love, Jean Kiss

P.S. Still looking forward to going into a Barnes&Noble and spotting it on the shelf and proudly stating, "that's my friend" as I purchase it and then going home to devour it. J

Hi Jean, I think it picks up the essence pretty well of a journey. that we're all on one of those but its always good to get confirmation or allow yourself to gloat for one second that it's doing what its supposed to. Dana's not home today and I can't wait til she reads this thread. so thank you all again. I guess thats me, with my philosophy if in doubt what to do, hitch a ride until you figure it out. Smiley  oh, I'm slow today. its purty.
hugs, alysia

Hi Alysia,
no I wouldn't add a roadsign. It would somehow hinder the flow into the depth of the picture. The roadsigns are coming, not yet to be seen, hidden ahead in the shades, sitting Laughing Rain is just about to start her journey and then will see the signs. They are INSIDE the book, not on the cover, the cover invites the reader to follow the road, to read the book and while reading to see the roadsigns.

my goodness spooky, I think you have a valid point! I was wondering if I did put a sign, where to put it without cluttering up the area and what size. but what u say makes sense that u must not underestimate the readers imagination.. Cheesy  thanks dearheart!

Well fine....tthhffft!   Wink

PS--Whatever you decide will be perfect.  I'm glad to see you are letting yourself play with your ideas and have fun with them.  That's important too.

Also, I think we all do judge books by the covers don't we?  I remember being drawn to Bruce's first book because of the cover, then I saw the word "Afterlife" and I was just too intrigued by that.

Do you know what the back of your book or inside flap will say as a description yet?

no not yet Vicky. its hard to describe 300 pages in a paragraph huh? Smiley Smiley  I think they want to know on the back what I do for a living. its going to be hard as I don't have a career other than writing, that I identify as my intrinsic self. but I'm sure I'll think of something to say being as I can't keep my mouth shut about anything Smiley Smiley

Heya Alysia .. Johannesburg, South Africa is my part of the world lol.

Hopefully your publisher will ship some out here?  I think its high time i read Bruce's books, they sound very intriguing from what i have learnt here so far.  I'm not so keen on on-line purchase though (yes silly i know) but there's a very good chain of bookshops here called Exclusive Books and if they don't have it in stock they will order it direct from the publisher.  Think I will do this with Bruce's books and the same when your book is released .. and Marilyn's as well!

Lots of love and best of joy with your book.

thank you Marcela, I like your tag too "the explorer" going where no man (few men and women) have gone before! lol.  maybe I'm too much the cheerleader type but I always like to say hold onto your hats as the big mind shift is a ride.
Marilyn you are a book. and I like the way you help writers with your energy, always steady, always encouraging! if you ever did put some pages together I would buy it as I never know what you are going to say! Smiley
Vicky u said whatever I decide will be perfect. I hope life is like this for you, when u look back u saw it was perfect!  I get your drift on a deeper level.
Caryn it will be great to talk to you again once you read some of Bruce's books we can have fun with it as you are so well read already I can tell, that you won't have trouble understanding the way Bruce writes, he was an easy and enjoyable read for me, my opinion and I love plugging his books...if I was a publisher I would be begging to publish his stuff...lol...I have been trying to make my stuff easy to read and I don't mind saying I had a tough time. I had to ask for guides assistance and they were relentless, as I did ask for it Undecided   lol. whatever! not complaining about hard work, but now I want to be lazy for awhile. guess that's ok too. Smiley

Cathy and Spooky (and all) u said something important that a picture draws a person in..like a thousand words..I want to be a artist instead now! ah..maybe later.

thank you all again for making me feel good about this project...you are all the ones I am writing to and you are my friends forever. love, alysia

Very nice!  Reminds me of my daughter's web page art, and that's high praise indeed.  She always had fits when the person she was designing a page for wanted some art that didn't say anything about the site, she understands the importance of the website/cover art both reflecting the content and drawing a person in.  From the sound of what your writing is about, it looks like that artwork is perfect.  Smiley

I've written a couple of books and other things. I decided to not get them published because I din't believe in what they said anymore. For one of them I was at the point where I was ready to look for a publisher, but something inside kept telling me "not yet, not yet." It's a good thing, because less than half of what I wrote it true. I'm so thankful I never got it published. It's a tricky thing writing books when we're spiritual, because we're always learning.

It takes work, but once you get going you're on your way. I found that the first draft doesn't take too long. It's the rewrites that take time.

some of us take years to write a book. it took 3 years to write this one, about 6 to 8 hours a day as I'm retired. wasn't writing all day, sometimes was just sitting and working on belief systems and emotions surrounding that. my best friend in roswell walked in the back door and caught me crying on the puter once Cry  didn't know that would happen but got myself a little enlightened while writing. did a couple self retrievals at the puter too and included them in the book. I'm a firm believer in self retrievals before getting good at retrieving others but I have some retrievals in chapter 23. the next book will be easier, called Celibate in the City! haha! now watch someone steal my idea! cool, then it would be The Other Celibate person in The City. just a fun book I'm thinking. I had 500 pages and snipped it down to 300...my guides were like, "take it out alysia!" NO WAY! I'd say. the next day I'd read what I wrote through someone elses eyes and think man, that was crap! ha ha!  ah, yes, we are such changeable people and so full of it sometimes. I'd better shut up and speak for myself. thanks Albert keep writing if thats your path. you would probably have lots of help around you. love, alysia

I don't feel compelled to write anything now. Right now it seems like helping with retrievels has more to do with why I'm here.  But you never know.  If you would've told me two years ago that I'd be helping with retrievels I'd say, "What?"

so heres the scope Cheesy  Dec 4 I ftd the thing thru the air holding my breath that it was going to Canada to be printed. if anyone ever says to me that "anyone can write a book," I want to ask god if I can punch them Tongue and get away with it.,

I uploaded twice and still no confirmation. so I called..did y'all get it? Tongue not yet! here try this. sent it through "U send it." thats for fat files. then I still don't get confirmation. so I mailed off a CD. overkill of course. its like the whole world is saying "you think we all stand by our puters and phones waiting for your book?" get real!  Tongue  I did get a confirmation alert that Trafford Publishing had a pending request for $60,000 withdrawal on my account!...  called Trafford...ah...I think theres too many 00's...hello? oh they said, the mistake is in your country, not ours. sure enough I get an apology after wresting one from the bank, "may we offer our sincere apologies for this little oversight..we didn't mean to ruin your life. a day later I receive confirmation the first time I sent the file it made it there. and now for the good news...Trafford knows who is calling when I call them now Cheesy . they also know me at the bank, because I don't make telephone calls if I can help it. I like to talk face to face, not push buttons for the next available robot. so its allgood . my dream said the book would birth on Jan 18. so remember that date and lets see what happens on that day. will let you know. love, alysia

hi its me again Cheesy  I'm over here making further announcements on the announcements thread.

ah, I finally got my email responded to at Trafford Publishing company in Canada but first I complained to a very nice lady over there that my emails were not being attended to in a prompt manner. don't u guys think Cheesy that two days is enough time to wait for an email to get a response? sometimes I wait a whole week before I get ichey because I don't want to..to...be a pregnant dog?  I can't put the word b-i-t-c-h here. Cheesy

just bring interested parties up to date on the first time you publish something, its not like life was ever supposed to be a smooth ride..words of wisdom overflowing here Cheesy

yea, so heres what he said today over yonder there where my child is...yea my book is my child...
quote: Dear Alysia,

Thank you for the go-ahead.  We will place the materials into the production queue.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Jeremy

now, wait, I wonder what he means by that Cheesy  production queue...I just wonder how long the line is.
well, see I had this dream the kid was birthed jan 18. actually it was the time of birth but I translated the time to a date on the calender. Nothing happened on the 18th, except that Trafford said they weren't sure about whether my graphics would be fuzzy or whatever and they wouldn't be able to print just a few chapters for me to looksee and decide whether I should work on the graphics some more or not. thats what happened between the 18th and now.

but a year or two ago, I got the date Feb 9th was the big day of birth, so that's only 3 days from now. so I'm waiting.

anyway, I wish to thank all of you who emailed to Trafford a request to be emailed when it gets ready to fly, as it may have brought some notice to them that is working the production queue and I hope those graphics are legible...had another dream they would turn out ok, so I'm sitting here on fire with hope...

those who are sensitive people should not view the image url I have just posted. I am not responsible for the feelings it causes you Cheesy  I just want u to get to know my true nature. hugs, alysia

Hi Alysia,
no I wouldn't add a roadsign.

Spooky

Hi Alysia,

Sorry I havn't followed along with your book cover sooner...a lot on my mind. lol.

I have to say that I agree with Spooky 100% on this one.

The road just pulled me in to look for more...raising curiosity...compelling me to look inside. I think a roadsign would stop me first...probably not what you want. I love it the way it is. It draws you in closer.  Much love Stacy

hi friends and neighbors, not to draw attention to myself hehehe but I want to share my happiness of a project completed I GOT THE PROOF OF THE BOOK BACK!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

ok, I'm composed. yes, it looks fine and even if it didn't I'm through messing with it after 4 years. even the graphics look ok for my first time trying to make them. word of caution, never use mac paint program and then switch to adobe photoshop. start in the later.

my goodness, this joint is jumping here Bruce and all, look what you started Bruce!
god bless you and if you don't believe in a singular god, thats ok, may the force be with you one and all.
Trafford is asking me to set a retail price and I don't understand what money is. I think I'm in trouble and I would rather they just give it away free. I suppose money is energy. well, ok I have plenty of energy. god bless money while I'm at it, to be blessing everything. what a sappy christian mystic I've become. its DP's fault I tell you.

I will sign off my consent sheet soon. my kid is in kindergarden, I hope the teachers are nice. love, alysia

My hearty congratulations Alysia!  Uhm, if money is energy and you have lots of energy in the book, I hope you don't price the book too high.  But don't give it away free either.  When do you think we'll be getting those e-mails from Trafford?  Best wishes - Rob

heres the link to order from Trafford should anybody want it:
http://www.trafford.com/4dcgi/view-item?item=19109&72171350-22912aaa

it will be at Amazon in a few weeks they said. Smiley  it cost me $1200 to self publish, but don't worry gang, for my financial well being Smiley I sold a house first for the money.

everybody who wants to write a book, you can do this for as low as $400. but that means you have to hustle it yourself in some way. never been very ambitious that way. Smiley

I got a buddy spend $10k of the australian dollar publishing over there. she really needs our prayers. she busted herself. but at least she had courage to believe in herself.

Shes in my book btw as my exploration partner.  hugs, alysia

alysia,

I will be picking up a copy sometime this month. Then all I have to do is read it.
I still have yet to read Bruce Moen's home study course. I support everyone, but read very little. I will try to start it and let you know how it is. I am sure it is wonderful. Again, my best to you, and hope sales will go through the roof!

Super Alysia,

I haven't received an e-mail yet but I imagine it takes a few days (if we're lucky) for the publisher to send them out.  Uh, does it make any difference to your pocket if we buy from Trafford or wait for the book to show up on Amazon.  I don't like to give my credit card info out to too many places.  Congratulations.

With love,
Rob

Hi Rob. actually I don't care about the money, maybe you should wait as I think the bookstores get a discounted rate on the more they buy, then the retail price would drop down some. Trafford sells a single copy for $21. Thats the lowest price they would let me set.  I'm thinking it will be around $14 at some point through a bookstore in the future so u should wait.

you're smart not to give out your numbers too many places...lol..I've got a story about that...oh well some other time Smiley

thanks Rick, if you start to read it and don't like it, don't tell me Cheesy but thanks for the vote of confidence.
btw, I can't stop writing...whats happening to me? Cheesy

so it was in your junk folder? hmmm. bummer for me!

since I'm on the internet a lot some spammers are getting into my main inbox trying to sell me watches they are, every single day I'm reminded to buy a watch, usually a Rolex. but I don't wear watches. just the other day a man walked by on the sidewalk and tried to sell me a watch for only $3...lol...the internet is a lot like living on the street.
I'm still getting used to this technological age and I don't think I ever will get used to it.
well, not that you needed this post. talk soon and thanks again for your interest. alysia

The bottom two thirds of the pic has a good, dynamic yet mysterious composition with nice tonality. It looks as though road leading into a vanishing point is the main element of the composition. I wouldn't put any distracting elements in there if I were you.
