retrievals
Aug 13th, 2006 at 7:10am

Hi Everyone
i have been a bit reluctant to post this, as i don't remember much but I am sure I have been doing retreivals.
I just don't remember them after i wake up later.
On one occasion I seem to remember being with 2 or 3 of you and having you show me what to do, lthough I am unsure of who it was.
another time I was not sure what to do as i had 2 people to help and one of you came and helped me with it (again, not sure who)
I am going to try and write them as soon as I wake in the night and not wait till morning while they are still fresh in my mind.
Have been unable to contact Smokey the cat, sowill keep trying
love to all Cathy Smiley

As an add on, things are definately getting a little weird!
i feel like a did a retrieval for a laying hen last night. I was on a farm where there were two hens, one black and one white. They were in a run with lots of long grass and flowers.
the white one was not responding to whoever was with it and I was asked by this person to retrieve the little bit of the hen that was missing and told how to do it!
When I found this piece and placed it back in the hen, she quickly became more animated and went out and joined her friend. maybe someone can help me understand that bit!
surely it's not a missing part of myself?
The person who was caring for the hens seemed to be one of you and had offered to help me train with my retreivals.
any ideas please would be great
love Cathy xx

Hi Cathy,
I too love animals and have recently been looking thru old photos of past animal-friends--- chickens, goats, dogs, but no b&w hens, and I don't feel qualfied to be a teacher, so guess I'm not involved .
What I'm wonderring tho, if anywhere in your belief system you've made a thought that you're not qualified to help humans,--- animals yes, but not humans?  (In that case you might be chicken Cheesy.)
In any case you could be starting with a small bit of retrieving before moving on to what you think is more complicated, as if you measured complexity by the pound!  Wink
Could the others with you be your Helper/ Guides?
Just wondering,
bets

Hi Cathy, so you started your retrieval lessons with hens? Why not!
My idea when reading your post was, it sounds like giving someone/some animal the right medicine. And this is to give just that which is lacking, or, to give the antidot to blockades. I've heard healers can transmit informations to their patients from their own (energy?)bodies, as long as they have themself the specific information needed by the patient.

Anyway, the specific healing you did was to make this hen more sociable. Maybe this has a meaning for you. Maybe you have a talent or a wish for this? (I mean, as Bets said, not only with hens) To make the black and white more sociable to each other could be meaning to bring opposites together.

Hi Cathy. I like what Spooky said that you can learn on animals as well as people, to supply the missing something. I also thought about the pun laying the golden egg idea, and how chickens are so sociable creatures and so are humans.
chickens are also like people in that they peck the sick chickens to death sometimes or peck the young ones even or the chickens that are different.  theres much to study about chickens. I once had a chicken farm and sold eggs. I had maybe 50. I notice each cluck noise they made had a message in it for the other chickens.
would like to have chickens again actually Wink
I'm not saying I was in your dream showing u about chickens. just sharing what u brought up for me and retrieval of animals is something a lot of us do. my sister is on the other side and she takes care of horses that have passed on, she cares for the ones who have had a rough time of it. its a very valid profession as our animals are extentions of ourselves, of our love for nature.
you can rest assured you have made a chicken very happy out there! love, alysia

Hi Everyone
I love your ideas, and it has given me somthing to ponder. I do like hens (loved having babies and used to rescue the battery hens and treach them to be real Chooks!)
spooky, I guess you would be right about bringing the black and white together, I find it inconceivable that anyone would want to harm another anything whether it be an animal or human.
I do prefer animals to people (sorry, love you guys too of course!) so you could all be right. In my experience aniamls are easier to work with because of lack of expectation, so would in my book, be easier to wrk with.
I actually seem to be doing lots of different retrievals, but there is always someone there (thankfully) guiding me.
thanks guys for all your help
love Cathy xxx Smiley

Cathy it is wonderful you love animals so much (i understand the animal rather than people work - animals give so much love back to us)

Marilyn wrote something about animals that i can't find now but what she said is so truthful as i have read this as well;

Animals were created from extra etheric forces that were left over as a help-mate for humans.
Loved ones who have passed over will leave a bit of their fragment in a family pet or other animal that is in close contact with the person they have left.

This needs to be understood properly ... it is just a tiny piece or fragment of the passed over person .. just to stay in touch and close with the loved one left behind.

It is NOT re-incarnation of a person .. this is how the whole misconception came about that people re-incarnate into animals .. NO WE NOT .. it is a fragment of the spirit that does.

Please do ask if there is any further questions about this phenomena.. taken from Rudolf Steiner work.  And maybe Marilyn would like to add further or comment ..

Keep up the great work with animals Cathy .. they are so special.

Greetings,
Pet animals become a part of a family so easily. Do you all think that they somehow absorb abit of people's etheric nature even before the people pass over?
Or are pets just good at psychology and so they quickly learn to adapt to their people?

Hi augoeideian
Are you saying that animals are only a part of the etheric forces and not entities in their own rights? Or that they have a bit of us as well.
In my experience, animals also have guides and higher purposes as do we. they also evolve through contact with humans which is why they can choose to cohabit with us.
(must say, I hope ours realise how good they have it! but it is a two way street)
Have a funny story to tell you about our little Rose. She is a petite maltese X, black and white.
When tony was ill in bed, she went and slept with him, then she went and got her nylon chew bone and woke him up by placing the chew bone in his mouth. She thought that the chewbone might make him feel much better. then, every ten minutes or so, she would go into her toy box (it is very vast) and bring him another toy and put it on his chest until he started to respond. she spent around 6 hours nursing him throughout the afternoon. Very sweet!
love to all Cathy xx

Hi Cathy

That is a lovely story .. isn't that so amazing and sweet .. i can just picture Tony lying there with a chew-bone in his mouth and all the toys spread around!! i love Maltese's .. they are very intelligent dogs that is for sure!

Thanks for the question .. i refer to Steiner's make-up of the body which includes minerals, plants, animals and humans.

Man is three stages above mineral and one stage above animal (a stage is quite immense)

An animal posesses 1) a physical body 2) etheric body 3) astral body with the sentient soul

Sentient soul = bearer of consciousness and the lowest part of this bearer is the awareness of sense impressions.  In animals this is related to consciousness of hunger, thirst, instincts and sense impressions.

Man has 1) a physical body 2) a etheric body 3) a astral body 4) a Ego.

So, we see that animals do not have an Ego.

Further man's Astral body carries:
a) sentient soul (as explained above)
b) intellectual soul (thinking)
c) consciousness soul or spiritual soul (consciousness of external truths)

The Ego in man is the etneral spirit of man and re-embodies in new physical, etheric and astral bodies in progressing earth lives.  The Ego is always fully awake.

So animals do not possess a Ego the intellectual soul or the spiritual soul.  Although with Rose you make say she does possess a intellectual soul!

This is interesting to say this because Steiner says that our we will be evolving the three members of our astral body into a) imaginative cognition b) inspirative cognition c) intuitive cognition .. we can see this is already happening (the new planets will confirm this)

So there is no reason why animals will not also evolve - although i do think it will be incorrect to say they will ever possess an Ego - but no reason why their sentient soul cannot grow.

Animals are not entities in their own right because they belong to a group consciousness of the animal world that resides in the astral world.

Also, not all pets carry a bit of someone we know .. i think it is only if you want them to or need it they can.  Some might be a bit of a fragment of a spirit that wants to keep in touch with earth with a family that accepts it. Some might just be pure dog energy for example.

Interesting subject!

OK, Caryn,
You've got me hooked on wanting to know more about R Steiner. Daedalus online bookseller has 3+ works of his for about 1/4 price so I'm starting with those. Thanks!
