a very strange dream
Aug 2nd, 2006 at 10:57pm

Hi all
here is one for all you dream interpreters!
I dreamt that I was driving my car in a local shopping centre car park and my brakes failed.
I  hit the curb and as I did I hit a 6 inch high little boy.
when I got out of the car he had turned into a stick or blade of dry grass about 6 inches long.
I was panicking until I realised it was a dream, I then woke up with relief .

Facts are my car has gone if or brakes today
on the news last night: police are looking and jail sentences for drivers who injure or kill chariging them with dangerous driving.
so any thoughts(please don't ring for the men in white coats) Huh

Hi Cathy,
You're fun!
Here's some line-by-line stuff. You can use it as
additional bait to get someone here to take over
who has some real understanding:   Smiley
It wasn't a retrieval because you were panicked.
He could be a small bit of yourself, set off by the news the night before. --- Perhaps you have fear of being hit by a car because a loved one almost was, or you were in a previous life as a male.
He's gone now is a previous situation because he'salready turned to grass.

Perhaps if you held a conversation with him in your head, assuring him he's OK and cars have better brakes now so it happens less often, and that he can go on up now with a butterfly helper or angel etc, in case he's stuck? And send him PUL.

Woops, are you looking for better breaks in a situation you're dealing with? My dreams like to pun, do yours? the rest could be anxiety about the situation, not necessarily prophetic?

Hi Bets and Cathy..yes Bets, my dreams like to pun Smiley

Cathys dream:I dreamt that I was driving my car
____
tons of us drive a car in dreams. was thinking if we were in another location or time period we'd dream about riding on a camel Cheesy

the car can represent your body.  I'm not so sure this is symbol of a real child. especially since it got flat like a cartoon.
if you are shopping in a dream, it is like seeking ideas to buy into. but while you are the seeker, I think you are warning yourself to observe first the small items (child) right in front of your wheel or it could be a warning to slow down and smell the roses, make sure you know how to take care of mechanical things in real time like the brakes before going shopping in the great mall of life. its probably a prioritize dream. I don't know why you mention 6 inches, but the 6" can also be 6 days, the 6th day of the week, 6 oclock news? for 6 years you've been trapped in a shopping mall  Grin  (joke)
whatever u ran over is really a small item.. so maybe your brakes are going to be a small item to maintain? I see, you did realize you were dreaming when the kid became a stick..good! lucidity here, means lucidity there...hey! I just made that up!

it looks like it was warning to get your brakes checked. did you say your brakes did fail?  nice to have warning dreams to avoid..well..you know...I donno Cathy, 6" kids that turn into popsickle sticks, may have to get you some help.. Grin  very good, now I have to go tell my daughter about her brakes need work too!

Hi girls
knew you would just come up with some intersting stuff!
My brakes were a bit dodgy and were booked to get fixed the following day.
Guess I fear that if I make a mistake and accidently hit someone, I could get locked away. Would be my worst nightmare!
anyway, brakes are fixed (quite a cost).
Actually what did happen after the dream was Tony found a dent on the car when cleaning it, someone hit me in the carpark. strange, I only just thought of the connection!
oh weel just goes to show where my brain is these days! lol!
love Cathy Cheesy

Hi Bets
the car was parked at the time, sorry I was not clear about that.
it was a hit and run on my little car... my poor baby!
but the new brakes work a treat! Roll Eyes

Hi Everyone
you will never guess, but I had a bit of an accident in the car tonight.
I scraped the wooden post of the carport when I backed out at work!
(note it was wooden)!
AND NO! I haven't told my hubby! Was just a bit of dust on the car thankfully!
but I laughed when I remembered this post
love to all

Hi Cathy, hope you and your car are okay. Let no-one say it's woman drivers!!

The strange thing about the dream you had and posted on the 2nd - that very day i had a incident outside work.  i work in a building in a suburb and the street block is (don't ask me why) used for learner drivers especially 08 (truck licence) So often there is this 2 ton flat bed mini truck going around and around the block with a learner driver and the instructor.

On this day a learner driver was going around a bend just by my building; instead of pushing the brake (which is never done on a corner anyway - she (erm yes she) should have been in 1st gear) anyway instead of pushing the brakes she pushed the accelerator, the vehicle spun onto the pavement and hit a pedestrian who happened to be standing there.

The mini truck knock her down and rode over her arm - awful awful because she was unconscious for about 20 min.  The paramedics came and thankfully as far as i know the only damage was a broken arm but the medics were worried about possible head injury.

We now have a campaign in the suburb to stop our block being used by the learner drivers.

It is strange that you dreamt this and posted it on the day this incident happened here - odd hey Cathy!

I am sure it's all over now  Smiley

Hi augoeideian
i am sorry to hear about that!
seems this dream had a life of its own. we were hit from behind today on the way to work, very shaken but otherwise Ok. the car is going cost a bit to repair, but we are insured,
They were kids on their P plates and just did not stop at the pedestrain crossing and just went full on into the back of us.
Strangely My hubby says he dreamt about  the car accicdent too. Cant say we didn't get any warning hey!
lets hope this is the last of it!
love to all
Cathy

Oh gosh Cathy - this happened yesterday to you? What a thing, i trust you and your husband are okay - i can understand how both of you are shaken.

Yes, it seems the dream has a life of it's own. Feeling a bit strange about it all as i'm sure you must be.

May we all watch out and be protected from learner drivers.

Love to you.

Literal interpretation, be careful when you drive because you don't want to hit a hard to see child by accident.

Non-literal interpretation, if you don't have any children, the shopping center car park represents the physical World, the driving without brakes represents being kind of wreckless during your life, the curb represents something that is blocking you, the little boy represents a child you never had but want, his turning to a dead blade of grass means it's okay if you never had a child, because the love people miss out on when they don't have children isn't someting to be concerned about, because the physical part of who we are is meaningless compared to who we really are, and the availability of love goes way beyond what is available in body based parent/child relationships.

Hi Recoverer
you are very astute!
I am no way reckless but instead very much the opposite, but I fell over when I read what you had written about the child
I had s miscarriage at 4 weeks and a hysterectomy shortly afterwards, so have no children (only the fur babies)
I have actually wondered about him in the last few weeeks.
I have been lucky enough to see him as my grandparents came with him to visit in spirit.
love Cathy
