Thanks for the story and for checking on them.  I've never done an animal retrieval or been to their focus level so that would be a great adventure, I'd think. I particularly love all sight hounds/running hounds.
Have you gone often? Do kittens that like to sit on pillows have a different focus level than greyhounds who run, or just different parts of the same pet focus level?
Both Cricket and Cathy B, I think, are professionally involved with animals.  Maybe we could start a pet thread (again?) and get their input or you could let us all know if any extra steps are needed to set pet intent?

Animals are so much easier to work with on a healing basis because they live in the present. they don't in general carry the same emotional baggage we humans do.
Most animals require 1 treatment for injury although I had a dog patient who had watched his doggie brother be stangled by a violent  husband and would not eat or drink, and every time he did he would choke. he did not stay and all attempts to help were usless.
Most animals respond well because of lack of expectation, unlike humans who often require regular treatment.
For humans, their healing model puts them in a place where they beleive that only surgery will fix them or that pain is expected as they are "getting older"!
so my guess is that unless an animal has suffered severe, on-going trauma and abuse it would be seem that they would not need retreiving.
Wild animals would have an easier time than those who have no human contact.

No I am not a vet, but have loved and worked with animals most of my life, my mantra has always been "animals are people too!"
I am a natural health healer and I work with Bowen Therapy, Reiki, Emmett, Some massage (reluctantly)
I always wanted to work primarily with animals, so how on earth I ended up with a "human" practice, I'm not quite sure! i do work on animals from time to time more often than not it is easier to distant healing.
I am working on two rather big dogs tonight! (They love me)!!!!
Funnily, last night I went around to a friends place to do some work on her and her little cockatiel sat on my shoulder the whole time and chatted to me, strange that he has only met me once before and is not keen on strangers! sooooo cute, and I love the smell of him although it makes me miss mine
