In Astrology it is good to know the Planets and i would like to write briefly about them here.
The Sun Has rule over zodiacal Leo. The Sun represents the conscious element and is usually studied as providing an index of the creative self-expression of the personality. Traditionally, the Sun rules the heart and is also connected with the blood, even though it is the opposite sign Aquarius which properly rules the circulation of the blood. The Sun also rules the back and the endocrine gland ruled by the Sun is the thymus, which is associated with the function of growth. The Sun is a useful index of how the vital forces work through the physical body - this because spiritual (as well as physical) energies are derived ultimately from the Sun. The planetary colours of the Sun is gold, orange and yellow. The ruling Archangel is Michael.
The Moon Has rule over zodiacal Cancer. The Moon represents the imaginative, reflective side and is linked with the subconscious element. It is an index of the receptive, withdrawn, secluded part of the person. The crescent sigil for the Moon represents this body as a reflection of the Sun, not so much the lighted crescent reflecting the light of consciousness, as the part of the lunar globe which remains in darkness - that which is not seen in nature and the hidden part of man. The Moon rules the tides and all things watery and has an effect on madness. Traditionally, the Moon is given rule over the breasts in the body and over the human rib-cage, protecting the heart. The Moon rules the pancreas of the lymphatic system. The planetary colours of the Moon is silvers, whites, greys and 'green-silver'. The ruling Archangel is Gabriel.
Mercury Has rule over Gemini and Virgo. Mercury represents the ability to communicate with others and rules human speech. Mercury is an index of mentality, though it is concerned with the details, with short term reactions, with memory and with day-to-day problems, rather than with profound metaphysical thought, which is really the domain of Jupiter. The Mercurian personality is sensitive to the environment, and will tend to pick up influences from those around. Traditionally, Mercury rules the hands and arms of the human body, as well as the lungs. Mercury is a useful index of how the nervous energies will flow and manifest. Mercury rules the thyroid and the pulmonary system. The planetary colours of Mercury is azure, violet, soft-browns and spotted mixtures. The ruling Archangel is Raphael.
Venus Venus represents the spiritual side of the native as manifest in his physical life, and it is an index of the ability of the subject to enjoy beauty and to co-operate with others. It is traditionally termed the 'planet of love', and is indeed a useful indicator of how the subject loves the world and all its rich manifestations: it governs also the higher emotions, and the general refinement of the individual. Venus has rule over zodiacal Taurus and Libra: in the first sign we find the love of the Earth manifesting as a refining principle which leads to the creative manipulation of materiality, as well as love for sensual experience such as only the physical body may afford. In the second sign Libra, we find the love of the air type, which is for communication and harmony of expression, both emphasised and intensified in Libra. The sigil for Venus represents the circle of spirit (which contains all spiritual potential) lifted by the cross of materiality, suggesting that the Venusian nature may be regarded as equivalent to a 'refined or redeemed earthly quality'. Traditionally the planet rules the small of the back and rules the parathyroids, connected with the arterial system. The planetary colours of Venus is blues, pastel shades, greens, indigo, 'soft-pale' blues. The ruling Archangel is Hamiel.
Mars Has rule over zodiacal Aries. Mars represents the physical side of man's life, and is an index of his energy, endurance, and so on - of his ability to carry projects through, and of the active side of his temperament. Mars is directly linked with the sex drive, in which it co-operates with the planet Venus, the former being active, the latter passive. The sigil for Mars is said to represent the cross of matter (the fourfold elemental life) weighing down the circle of spirit. It is in effect the reverse of Venus. Mars is a useful index of how quickly the physical energies may be called into play as a result of disturbances on the physical plane through activities which give rapid results. All forms of ohysical and manual labour fall under the rule of Mars, so that at one end of the spectrum there is building and construction work, at the other end, surgery, driving and athletics. All work involving the use of iron and steel, sharp tools and weapons of war are connected with Mars, so that military establishments, slaughterhouses, waste-disposal units, mortuaries and so on are under its dominion. Traditionally Mars has dominion over the private parts in the human being and rules the solar plexus and adrenal glands, the cerebro-spinal system. The planetary colours of Mars is red, scarlet, carmine, magenta and deep orange. The ruling Archangel is Camael.
Jupiter Has rule over zodiacal Sagittarius. Jupiter represents the profound side of the mental life: it stands for speculative thought and for the spiritually expansive side of human nature. In particular Jupiter offers an index of the moral nature of the person and of the degree to which he will respond enthusiastically to life and its responsibilities. The responsibilities themselves may come from Saturn, but how they are shouldered depends very much on Jupiter. Jupiter is mature and expansive, good hearted and merciful, majestic and magnificent. Traditionally Jupiter rules over the thighs and liver in the human body and rules the posterior pituitary, and involuntary muscular system. The planetary colours of Jupiter is purple, violet, indigo, sky-blues, 'deep tones of midnight sky'. The ruling Archangel is Zadkiel.
Jupiter period A future evolution of Earth when humanity having learned the lessons relating to objective consciousness in the present cycles will attain to self-directed picture consciousness. The evolutionary development of this period will reach a very high level.
Saturn Has rule over zodiacal Capricorn. The influence of Saturn in the microcosm represents the restrictive side of man's nature. Saturn represents the underlying and motivating fears in the life of man: it governs the materialistic element in life, and in particular the limitations which the person is likely to experience. The Sphere of Saturn is said to have rule over time itself Old Father Time - that great 'structurer' of human life and personifies old age, which includes wisdom and teaching. Saturn stands for conservatism, to establish rigid structures, and to exercise control over life. Traditionally Saturn has rule over the knees, as well as over the entire skeletal frame, and expression of the cosmic fact that Saturn lends structure to life's forms. Saturn rules the anterior pituitary and cerebal cortex. The planetary colours of Saturn is black, grey, green, dark brown, sage green and dark mottled colours. The ruling Archangel is Zaphkiel.
