Kyo kindly suggested that i move my Astrology threads to a new topic heading as he moved the Ouija topic to the Afterlife forum (and it is well deserved there)  Thanks Kyo   Wink

Astrology is a vast subject; it is indeed the make up of our immediate universe; it is part of us and we are part of it.  A part of Astrology that i would like to write about now is what is called the Descent of the Soul - in this we have an insight into our cosmic system.

The Descent of the Soul is the returning back to earth;

There comes a point when the expanding ego can make no further progress in the spiritual realms.  The ego then has a yearning to return to earth in order to carry out further deeds and to develop stronger faculties and talents which only earth life within a body physically seperated from all others, makes possible.  It will then be necessary to build a spiritual prototype of a physical body which will include all the fruits of the past incarnations.  This is done with the help of the Hierarchies.

From the limits of the world of the fixed stars and beyond, the being of man contracts, becoming smaller and smaller.  He travels through the starry heavens now with more sympathy and in other spheres with less sympathy.  As we relate ourselves with each of the spheres we pass through, so will our coming earth life be determined.  All the Hierarchies assist man to metamorphose the experiences of his last earthly life into spiritual forces to form the right physical body for the next earth life in order to carry out the purposes engendered in the soul on the upward path after the last death.

With the help of the Beings in each part of the Zodiac, man acquires their specific forces to build a particular organ of his physical body.  For instance, while the ego is in the Constellation of Leo with the Sun Beings sending their forces up to it, the Leo Hierarchies and the Sun Beings give man the spiritual forces to build his future heart.   When you are living in and with those Spiritual Beings in the constellation of Aries, you will work with the Hierarchies of Aries and the Mars Beings in forming your future head.  How we relate to the Hierarchies of Aries differs in each individual as a result of what we bring to that sphere from our previous earth-life.

And through each constellation the Soul gathers together its physical body from what was and what is to become. Now the Soul Descends;

The soul, wrapped in a luminous body, descends into the Sphere of Saturn where it develops the power of reasoning and theorising (intelligentia et ratiocinatio); in the Sphere of Jupiter it develops the power of putting into practice (vis agendi)  In the sphere of Mars, it takes on the power of 'ardent vehemence' (Thumikon which in esoteric lore is linked with magical powers) In the Sun Sphere, the soul learns 'sensing and imagining' or phantasie.  In the Sphere of Venus the soul takes on the power of desire which is linked with love.  In the next Sphere Mercury the soul is given the power of 'giving expression'.  In the final Sphere, that of the Moon, the soul begins to learn about physical bodies - how to move and grow, which is esoterically connected with the etheric forces.  In the lower realm, the Sphere of the Earth, the soul takes on through incarnation the 'terrene' body and the soul is wrapped in the shroud of the physical.

The outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto have further advanced powers that are bestowed onto the soul.

And this being be the foundation of Astrology as well as the Ascend of the Soul when the soul leaves the body and travels back through the Spheres.

i further post another writing on Astrology that i have posted before here .. but i hope you don't mind if i post it again .. it does go hand in hand ..

We are creating a New Zodiac Constellation

Think of the vast difference between man and mineral!
Yet man is only three stages above the mineral.  Try to conceive of the sublimity of beings who are nine, eight, or even seven stages above man.  These supersensible beings, the highest of the Spiritual Hierarchies, are called the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones – the First Hierarchy.

It is they who comprise the twelve differentiated groupings which we call the Zodiac, which forms as it were, the womb of our solar system.  As a teacher was once a student and as a mother was once a child, so these exalted divine beings came from an earlier solar system in which they passed through their lower stages, until they were so advanced that their solar system could be transformed into our Zodiac and they could rise to mighty, creative, cosmic deeds and make the great sacrifice which gave birth to our solar system. Beyond them is the Divine Trinity, the Threefold Unity.

From the twelve directions of space, they organised the warmth and laid the foundation for the twelvefold differentiated warmth we bear in our twelve-membered physical body today, from Aries-head to Pisces-feet.

There is no chance or accidental coincidence in the recurrent reflection of the heavenly pattern in earthly life.  We find it in the twelve sons of Jacob, the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve disciples of Christ Jesus and the twelve Knights of the Round Table.

And with same principle mankind, with Earth at the midway station, is evolving the three spirit principles: the spirit-self, life-spirit and spirit-man. All mankind will evolve them somewhat in the course of their future incarnations, and fully in the future planetary existences, called the Jupiter, Venus and Vulcan Periods, through which the Earth will pass in the future, before the beings of our solar system reach the stage of creativity when they can participate in the birth of a new Zodiac and solar system. For man is becoming the Fourth Hierarchy, named the Spirits of Freedom and Love.  At the end of the Earth Period, love should be part of everything, as wisdom is now.

For an approach to this consciousness, we need an enlarged- a cosmic –concept of the Christ, the sublime Sun Spirit who incarnated in Jesus of Nazareth from the Baptism till the Mystery of Golgotha, when he become the Spirit of the Earth and ‘The Lord of all the heavenly forces upon Earth.’ Christ is the being who in the Sun Period selflessly gave himself up in devotion to the Twelve Voices of the Word of Worlds, which kindled in him such Light that he can say, ‘I am the light of the world.’  He belongs to our cosmos as a whole and spreads life throughout our entire universe.  For those who direct their thought to him during waking life, he becomes their guide through the cosmos during sleep and between death and rebirth.  The Midnight Sun; The Spiritual Sun.

In Astrology it is good to know the Planets and i would like to write briefly about them here.

The Sun
Has rule over zodiacal Leo.  The Sun represents the conscious element and is usually studied as providing an index of the creative self-expression of the personality.  Traditionally, the Sun rules the heart and is also connected with the blood, even though it is the opposite sign Aquarius which properly rules the circulation of the blood. The Sun also rules the back and the endocrine gland ruled by the Sun is the thymus, which is associated with the function of growth.  The Sun is a useful index of how the vital forces work through the physical body - this because spiritual (as well as physical) energies are derived ultimately from the Sun.  The planetary colours of the Sun is gold, orange and yellow.  The ruling Archangel is Michael.

The Moon
Has rule over zodiacal Cancer.  The Moon represents the imaginative, reflective side and is linked with the subconscious element.  It is an index of the receptive, withdrawn, secluded part of the person. The crescent sigil for the Moon represents this body as a reflection of the Sun, not so much the lighted crescent reflecting the light of consciousness, as the part of the lunar globe which remains in darkness - that which is not seen in nature and the hidden part of man.  The Moon rules the tides and all things watery and has an effect on madness.  Traditionally, the Moon is given rule over the breasts in the body and over the human rib-cage, protecting the heart.  The Moon rules the pancreas of the lymphatic system. The planetary colours of the Moon is silvers, whites, greys and 'green-silver'.  The ruling Archangel is Gabriel.

Mercury
Has rule over Gemini and Virgo.  Mercury represents the ability to communicate with others and rules human speech.  Mercury is an index of mentality, though it is concerned with the details, with short term reactions, with memory and with day-to-day problems, rather than with profound metaphysical thought, which is really the domain of Jupiter. The Mercurian personality is sensitive to the environment, and will tend to pick up influences from those around.  Traditionally, Mercury rules the hands and arms of the human body, as well as the lungs.  Mercury is a useful index of how the nervous energies will flow and manifest. Mercury rules the thyroid and the pulmonary system. The planetary colours of Mercury is azure, violet, soft-browns and spotted mixtures. The ruling Archangel is Raphael.

Venus
Venus represents the spiritual side of the native as manifest in his physical life, and it is an index of the ability of the subject to enjoy beauty and to co-operate with others.  It is traditionally termed the 'planet of love', and is indeed a useful indicator of how the subject loves the world and all its rich manifestations: it governs also the higher emotions, and the general refinement of the individual.  Venus has rule over zodiacal Taurus and Libra: in the first sign we find the love of the Earth manifesting as a refining principle which leads to the creative manipulation of materiality, as well as love for sensual experience such as only the physical body may afford.  In the second sign Libra, we find the love of the air type, which is for communication and harmony of expression, both emphasised and intensified in Libra.  The sigil for Venus represents the circle of spirit (which contains all spiritual potential) lifted by the cross of materiality, suggesting that the Venusian nature may be regarded as equivalent to a 'refined or redeemed earthly quality'.  Traditionally the planet rules the small of the back and rules the parathyroids, connected with the arterial system.  The planetary colours of Venus is blues, pastel shades, greens, indigo, 'soft-pale' blues.  The ruling Archangel is Hamiel.

Mars
Has rule over zodiacal Aries.  Mars represents the physical side of man's life, and is an index of his energy, endurance, and so on - of his ability to carry projects through, and of the active side of his temperament.  Mars is directly linked with the sex drive, in which it co-operates with the planet Venus, the former being active, the latter passive.  The sigil for Mars is said to represent the cross of matter (the fourfold elemental life) weighing down the circle of spirit.  It is in effect the reverse of Venus.  Mars is a useful index of how quickly the physical energies may be called into play as a result of disturbances on the physical plane through activities which give rapid results.  All forms of ohysical and manual labour fall under the rule of Mars, so that at one end of the spectrum there is building and construction work, at the other end, surgery, driving and athletics.  All work involving the use of iron and steel, sharp tools and weapons of war are connected with Mars, so that military establishments, slaughterhouses, waste-disposal units, mortuaries and so on are under its dominion.  Traditionally Mars has dominion over the private parts in the human being and rules the solar plexus and adrenal glands, the cerebro-spinal system.  The planetary colours of Mars is red, scarlet, carmine, magenta and deep orange.  The ruling Archangel is Camael.

Jupiter
Has rule over zodiacal Sagittarius.  Jupiter represents the profound side of the mental life:  it stands for speculative thought and for the spiritually expansive side of human nature.  In particular Jupiter offers an index of the moral nature of the person and of the degree to which he will respond enthusiastically to life and its responsibilities.  The responsibilities themselves may come from Saturn, but how they are shouldered depends very much on Jupiter.  Jupiter is mature and expansive, good hearted and merciful, majestic and magnificent.  Traditionally Jupiter rules over the thighs and liver in the human body and rules the posterior pituitary, and involuntary muscular system.  The planetary colours of Jupiter is purple, violet, indigo, sky-blues, 'deep tones of midnight sky'.  The ruling Archangel is Zadkiel.

Jupiter period A future evolution of Earth when humanity having learned the lessons relating to objective consciousness in the present cycles will attain to self-directed picture consciousness.  The evolutionary development of this period will reach a very high level.

Saturn
Has rule over zodiacal Capricorn.  The influence of Saturn in the microcosm represents the restrictive side of man's nature.  Saturn represents the underlying and motivating fears in the life of man: it governs the materialistic element in life, and in particular the limitations which the person is likely to experience.  The Sphere of Saturn is said to have rule over time itself Old Father Time - that great 'structurer' of human life and personifies old age, which includes wisdom and teaching.  Saturn stands for conservatism, to establish rigid structures, and to exercise control over life.  Traditionally Saturn has rule over the knees, as well as over the entire skeletal frame, and expression of the cosmic fact that Saturn lends structure to life's forms. Saturn rules the anterior pituitary and cerebal cortex.  The planetary colours of Saturn is black, grey, green, dark brown, sage green and dark mottled colours.  The ruling Archangel is Zaphkiel.

Ouranos
Has rule over zodiacal Aquarius.  Ouranos is the planet of change, marking social or personal revolutions and disruptions and is magnetic, original (to the point of genius or madness), reformative and unconventional.  Ouranos is responsible for political revolutions, industrial development, social change and international collaboration and rules inventions.  Ouranos rules lightning and electricity and is even older than the Time God Chronos (Saturn) Ouranus rules the ankles and the gonads and genital system, and the function of reproduction.  The planetary colours is electric colours, light blues, ‘a profusion of glaring colours’.  The Archangel of Ouranos is hidden.  One of the Angels of Aquarius is Cambiel.

Neptune
Has rule over zodiacal Pisces.  Neptune urges towards self-sacrifice, and service to others and is expressive of the ‘principle of the Love of Christ’.  The opposite of unlimited openness and sacrifice is egocentricity and is expressed in unrefined Neptunian qualities.  Neptune represents anything vague and ‘whatever dissolves’ and in a negative state deception and whatever may be illusory in a character or situation.   When working through its beneficent side however, it includes an maginative, inspirational, idealistic and artistic nature.  Neptune rules the sea (Poseidon) and is the principle of absorption ruling the dream thinking of the unconscious.  Neptune rules the pineal gland with a function ‘as yet unknown’. The planetary colours is lavender, greys, whites, mauve and ‘sea colours’. The Archangel of Neptune is hidden.  One of the Angels of Pisces is Barchiel.

Pluto
As Pluto is the most distant from the Sun of the far so known Planets and takes 248 years to orbit the Sun and 28 years to pass through one sign of the Zodiac.   Its vibration over the varying conditions of life must, of necessity, follow the ‘long term’ plan.  However, with regard to the House position, it will pass through the whole of the twelve House in the 24 hours of the day.
Pluto represents the idea of the veil between here and there, the underworld, the darkside of mankind, death and transformation.   Between Here and There; and governs the ‘New Sciences’, those which have developed from the point to which the ordinary Uranian process of science previously carried them.   These new sciences are those which come into the nuclear field and which have brought a clearer understanding of the process of Fission.
As a result, previously unknown elements have been isolated, whose power, and rays, have untold potentiality for both good and evil, although, so far, the evil has been more forcefully demonstrated than the good through the medium of the bomb.  It is interesting to note, that the protective agency, and the one which conduces to safety, is lead – which is ruled by Saturn, often maligned as an evil and bad Planet but, nevertheless, powerful enough to act as the bridge and the safety device between forces which are infinitely more evil.
The two principles that Pluto expresses are a) The Principle of Banishment and b) the Principle of Bringing things to a Halt.
Pluto rules the negative side of zodiacal Mars.  The planetary colours are ‘blood reds’.

THE ELEMENTALS

The elements in astrology are the expression on the natural plane of the activity of the four elements.  The Gnomes are the earth beings, the Sylphs are the air beings, the Undines are the water beings, and the salamanders are the fire beings.  It is erroneous to call these beings ‘spirits’.

These elementals are expressed in the natural four elements; of which there are five in number, for it is maintained that the four themselves restless, and even in enmity with each other, so that they are bound into a temporary pact (such as is required by the world of material form) by a fifth element.  This fifth element maintains the pact between sublunar things, and is called the Quintessence.

It is widely recognized that this fifth element will in the future become visible to human beings.  It is further said that there is two other elements which will long remain invisible.

Each zodiacal sign is in sympathy with it’s natural element:

Earth
The Earth element finds expression through :  Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.
It is the element most deeply associated with the physical body and environment.
Earth is an incarnating principle, which seeks to either draw or invite the
immaterial into physical form: any incarnating spirit feels the weight of such
form, with the result that the element is also associated with inertia, with physical
and mental passivity, and so on, and is inclined to find pleasure in material well-
being and physical comforts.  The aridity of Earth calls for the enlivening fluidity
of water – which is to say that the Earth element has a beneficial affinity with the
Water element.

Water
The Water element finds expression through : Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
It is the element most deeply concerned with reflection, sensitivity and fluidity.  Water is an impressionable principle, the important aspect of this revolving around the idea (more fully expressed in alchemical than in astrological texts) that water, to operate in accordance with its true nature, needs to be contained, and thus given form.  This partly explains the connection drawn between the ‘dry’ Moon and water, for the Moon is that which gives growth and change to form. The esoteric water element is far removed from the fluidic water of the modern chemists, though suitable analogies between the material fluid and the spiritual principle are often found.

Air
The Air element finds expression through : Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.
It is the element most deeply associated with thought, and with volatility: this is recorded by the saying “the envelope of the life of our sensitive spirit”, meaning that the human being swims in the world of thought, as though in a sea.  And Air is at times called the ‘sea of things invisible’.  It is the element which carries sound, and thus permits communication between people; the oxygen of air enlivens or feeds the flames of fire – which is to say that the air element has an affinity with the Fire element.

Fire
The Fire element finds expression through : Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.
It is the element most deeply connected with spiritual activity.  Fire is an expressive principle, the important aspect of this revolving around the idea (more fully expounded in alchemical than in astrological texts) that fire, to operate fully in accord with its nature, needs an agency of control.  Fire which is not controlled is called in alchemical terminology ‘common fire’: it generates nothing but destruction.  Within all the fire conditions known to astrologers, there is implicit (and indeed sometimes explicit) a destructive power.  The consuming nature of fire calls for a constant supply of ‘oxygen’, which is expressed in the harmony the fire element bears with the Air element, a harmony which may be reduced to fire being predatory at the expense of air.
