Lucid dreaming
Jan 6th, 2006 at 11:38pm

I went for a nap earlier and somehow I found myself being aware in a dream. I was going around my house, changing things, like tidying up the "easy" way (willing the rooms to be tidy, not having to lift a finger, lol) and so on. At some point, I'd said to myself that I was lucid dreaming. I knew I was in a dream. Everything felt real enough to me. I went in my living room, and my mother was standing by the window in the wall dividing my living room from the kitchen. It was bright daylight in the dream (in waking life, it was pitch black outside). I was surprised, but very pleased to see my mother, I've been missing her so badly since her death in Summer 2004.

The next thing, I'm holding my mother's hand, and we're flying over some beautiful countryside, over a big castle or fortress type of bullding, and I could see a big forest too, along with green rolling hills. The sky was perfectly blue, and the sun was shining brightly.

Eventually we landed in some sort of village, with little houses. I think some of them were made of wood, but I'm sure I saw some stone buildings there too. Might have lost a bit of clarity there. There were people there, including some from my own family, Nana and my uncle. I remember hugging Nana and my uncle as well. I remember there was a beach near this village, kind of like a "beach meets wilderness" setting. I remember running on the beach then running back to the village. Then I found myself in a little cottage, I got the sense it was a stone cottage. I also got the sense of my Nana living there. We were in this little room, with a big open fire. My family were in that room, chatting or whatever. There was a great feeling, a happy and safe atmosphere.

I lost track of it all soon after that.

I do recall feeling emotional during this dream, positive emotions, that I'd more or less forgotten about since these members of my family passed over.

This sounds like it was a very peaceful dream.  I think sometimes we need these kinds of dreams to energize us to make us feel good.  I'm sure your mom's spirit wanted to give you this peacefulness.   The setting sounds gorgeous.  I love how dreams give us such beautiful landscaping.

Yes it was peaceful. I don't recall much of it now, just bits and pieces.
