Title: Different method to contact the dead Post by Boris on Oct 27th, 2003 at 6:31am
Here are two interesting web sites:
http://induced-adc.com (induced after death contact) http://www.emdr.com/ (eye movement therapy) Using eye movement therapy, it has been possible to induce after death contact experiances. People are seeing and talking to departed relatives, according to the above site. Here are some excerpts from those web sites: How EMDR works is still a matter of some debate. However, most psychologists familiar with the procedure would agree that it somehow greatly increases the brain's ability to process information. Shapiro's "Accelerated Information Processing" model is consistent with clinical observations. It has been known for some time that the shifting of the eyes is associated with increased brain processing. The most familiar example is that of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which occurs when we dream. It is generally agreed that the increased processing that occurs during dreaming causes the eyes to shift back and forth. With EMDR it appears that the reverse is also true, that a purposeful shifting of the eyes causes an increase in the brain's ability to process information, and the patient is fully awake and alert during the entire process. -------------- After this, the client is instructed to focus on the image, negative thought, and body sensations while simultaneously moving his/her eyes back and forth following the therapist's fingers as they move across his/her field of vision for 20-30 seconds or more, depending upon the need of the client. |

Hello Boris,
This sounds quite like hypnotizing to achieve this? Not that I think it makes this more or less valid. People have been using hypnotizing to explore past lives for a while I guess, and most get dismissed because alot seem to have been 'famous' charactors from the past, maybe them charactors just left a stronger impression eh? The site looked good and talked openly of the placebo effect and how that was a possible reason of the succes they have, nice to see a good level of objectivity. Ta for link peace love empathy Simon |

I only discovered the site on Monday, and have not read all of it.
Below is a quote which is one of my themes: the way information is stored but not processed by connection to other parts of the mind. I am glad to see this idea appearing in a professional paper. Quote: -------------- When a traumatic or very negative event occurs, information processing may be incomplete, perhaps because strong negative feelings or dissociation interfere with information processing. This prevents the forging of connections with more adaptive information that is held in other memory networks. ================= In the cases I am thinking of, "forging of connections" may be prevented by established belief systems. Yes indeed. That is why the twin towers went down. Here are some more quotes: --------------- The EMDR technique involves getting the patient to move his or her eyes in a particular rhythmic fashion while at the same time attending to a particular aspect of the traumatic memory. The therapeutic results, to those familiar with the treatment of PTSD and grief, are nothing less than astonishing. For many patients, significant desensitization of the intrusive images and feelings associated with a particular loss can occur within a single session. Similarly, EMDR also results in a rapid cognitive restructuring of the traumatic event. We are thus in many instances able to achieve in one session of EMDR what we had been unable to accomplish after years of traditional psychotherapy. ------------------ Qualifications for Attending: A clinical background is necessary for the effective application of EMDR. Attendance at the workshop is limited to mental health professionals who have a masters degree or higher in the mental health field and are licensed or certified through a state or national board which authorizes independent practice ================== In other words, they don't seem to tell you how to do it. It occurs to me that my eyes are moving back and forth whenever I am reading something. Obviously it has to be more than that. I hope if any qualified people find out how to do it, that they will post it here, so that we unqualified reckless nutheads can fool around with it. ( I am just being humerous). A book will be forthcoming. |
