Title: Betty Eadie V Nanci Danison
Post by carl on Mar 3rd, 2014 at 3:51am
It seems both author's account of the Afterlife contradict each other in major spiritual points. Betty Eadie is the most prolific author of an NDE book. Her book, 'Embraced by the Light', had sold over US$20 million in the English language, and US$25 million, translated in all other languages.

That makes her at least a millionaire from the sales of her book, assuming that the US$1.50 cents, she receives from each book sold-royalties. Perhaps, Bruce Moen, can enlighten us as to how much $royalty he receives from each of his books sold.

But, this post is not about royalties from book sales, but about the contradictions that each of the above authors write in their respected books about  Afterlife conditions. So who is telling the truth, and who is lying? I add a website-forum who I'm a member of, but I rarely post there. Why should the afterlife be the same for everyone, Carl?  Is your earthly life and beliefs the same as mine, or the same as that of someone living in sub-saharan Africa?  If not, would it be such a surprise if we experience things differently?  Why does someone have to be lying?

Betty Eadie was a christian, and her being of light was JC, who she knew had always been with her.  Nanci Danison found that her thoughts immediately manifest into her reality.  She thought of a tunnel - it was there!  She realized that it was her own mind doing this and actually experimented and manifest different surroundings (a summerland scene, etc.).  Did Eadie do the same thing?   Would she have been aware of it, if she had?

The feeling of love and acceptance with the being of light was identical in both accounts.  The message of the nature of our spirit and the importance of love was the same in both accounts.  Eadie goes on to say that she was told that different religions were "right" for different people, though she felt that all had to eventually spiritually mature or come through Christ as they progressed.  Niether woman wanted to leave the light or unity they found with light beings.  Both did.

I have found some East Asian cultures where NDEs describe encounters with local deities, and other such events which correspond to their belief system, without mention of a classic "heavenly structure."  Why would that be?  It seems clear that their belief system influenced their thought, love and emotions, so that what they manifest in their NDE was unique to them.

Will your heaven be the same as that of someone else?  Not necessarily.

From scripture:  "In My Father's house are many dwelling places."

If a near death experiencer isn't open to experiencing far beyond her current belief system, she probably won't.

I read Betty Eadie's books and they have some good things to say, but her perspectives seem limited.  One thing she said, I forgot the exact words, "Sorry ladies, but it is true that you should be subservient to men."

I've seen a copy of one of Bruce's books in a book chain store only one time. He is part of a small niche market. He probably receives a commision of 10% or less. So I doubt he's made "lots" of money on his books.

Bruce doesn't charge a fee to access information from this website.  But how many of us thank him for the service?  No one is getting wealthy off of the afterlife here, that much is certain.

Bruce and other paranormal authors have to eat to, you  know.  And they have the guts to put themselves out there and share what they have learned.  I think some on this board think that knowledge should be passed on with a beggars cup, like Buddha or other great religious leaders used.  That is ridiculous.  In the physical world, a service is a service, be it teaching a workshop, working on plumbing or sweeping floors.

I wish to thank Bruce for his support of our own explorations and the resources this site provides.

I was just thinking over the last couple of days how great it would be to have a thread thanking Bruce for this site and the activity which is allowed on it.

Thank you, Bruce!

(and, thank you Carl for starting this discussion)

OK, DocM or Matthew! ...As you egotistically wish to show all here that you are a medical practitioner working in a hospital! Wow! What egoistic BS!..But that's what I'm asking you. Did you read Rondele's post, where she accused me having black(negative)energy my hands? I'm only asking for straight honest answers!?...Or is this too much for you??? ...Carl...Sorry, no blessings and love for an evasive egotist....

Hey Carl,

I wrote to contribute to your interesting thread.  If you look, you will see that I addressed the question you asked, in a straight-forward way.  In my reply, I mentioned nothing of working in a hospital.  Generally, my posts, I deliberately don't go into details about medical knowlege - unless asked.  When I spoke of performing services, I did talk about sweeping floors and plumbing.  Was that a medical metaphor?

But rather than continue your own topic, you berate me, call me egoistic, then ask me to recall an event about Roger to berate him.  Why?

I will say that if he saw you with blackness around your hands, it probably had little to do with the topic of conversation, and more about his perception of your intentions.  But no, I don't condone any personal attacks on you, Carl - if that is what you are asking.

Carl, you started a perfectly reasonable thread about two NDEs, contrasting the two.  Why not continue the discussion?

Matthew

Just as you can never enter the same river twice , no two earthly or near death events are the are exactly the same, in every detail. They are colored by our prior beliefs.

Everything we experience is our own particular reality, both in the afterlife and during our earthly walk.
