Title: Seeing it not there Post by a channel on Feb 25th, 2014 at 2:57pm
Seeing it not there is a teaching that is found in Bruce's work.
I have a lot of respect for Bruce and his work, as well as personally like him. But with this teaching, i've often wondered, what has more power, "seeing it not there" Or seeing, "what you want, what is helpful and constructive there."? Because of my experiences and understanding how the subconscious mind works, i've realized that the latter is more powerful. I'll give an example. If someone had a skin cancer on their arm, asked for help with healing, and i partook in their overall healing process--i think seeing the skin cancer not there on their arm could work, but instead i would prefer to instead visualize, see, know radiantly healthy, smooth, balanced skin there. They are similar in intent, but the latter is more positive or Yang in nature, carries a greater active force or charge i think. The former is more Yin. The Yin is necessary and comes in more in opening self up to the Creative, healing consciousness that is innately part of PUL and Source Consciousness. A kind of emptying or clearing/balancing of self, to allow better attunement to that which is healing. Once that connection is made, then one actively directs that energy, vibration, consciousness via thought-intention-will. In a very real sense, it's not us who is doing the healing, but rather channeling that which is healing. Our part to play, is to get self out of the way. Course, the little self is also part of the healing, because some part of self has to have the intention, desire, choice to partake. Hence, while one can talk about Yin and Yang as separate and different sides of consciousness, there really is no separating the two, they are one, though different. Kind of like the left and right hemispheres of the whole brain. Or, we are One though the many and each unique at the same time. |

I understand what you are saying. I agree. That is why I support such experimental practices such as guided meditation which, when used appropriately, can introduce us to new ways of thinking and feeling which we may not be accustomed to experiencing. Without the experience, what can we really know? We are hearing about things second hand. When taught how to visualize in a positive way, it is a lesson which cannot be forgotten. Even when refraining from the practice for quite some time, one cannot forget the power of the mind, and the way in which one has been taught. For instance, I used to be very afraid of flying, which was an anxiety difficult to control. Until I realized that I am the one in charge of my thoughts, and that I can choose a different thought, no matter what my doubting mind might initially construct for me. In a similar way, life is. For each of us. We choose. Our thoughts direct our paths. Our belief constructs our reality. Life, itself, would be a terrible bore, otherwise, wouldn't it? So, the ability to choose is the greatest gift a Creator could give, so that we can teach ourselves what is important to us.

Thank you for the thoughtful, holistic reply Seagull.
Did you ever figure out where the fear of flying came from? In any case, good to hear that you transformed it! For the last part, very well said. I sometimes find myself between a rock and a hard place in that area. I tend to be a little Yang polarized/imbalanced, and so really want to help the process of retrieval here and else where, but sometimes i think i need to be a little more laid back or Yin about it, but neither do i want to become apathetic or overly laissez-faire. Like with many things in life, there's a necessary balance to achieve, which is not easy. |
