Title: reading between the lines Post by Rondele on Oct 10th, 2013 at 9:08am
A certain person wanting to punk the board, pretending that he/she has a serious disease, has a real talent for deception, knowing how to press the emotional buttons. So far no one apparently has caught on.
This ploy can work but only if they stay on script. When they slip and go off script if only momentarily, the act becomes transparent. No names will be mentioned, just the need to realize that not all folks are who they pretend to be and anyone can be anyone on the internet. r |

That is certainly always a possibility, but no harm in giving the benefit of the doubt and trying to be helpful anyway. I actually expect that to happen here, and that whatever advice is given is understood by all readers to be personal opinions only. There would be other kinds of responses on other public forums in cyberspace, assuredly, and not all would be positive or kind.

That thought did occur to me Rondele, but i also agree with what seagull wrote.
Even if the person seeking the advice is faking it, the advice given may help others reading who do have real issues. Still a win-win in my book. |
