Reprehensible, to use hypnotism on someone (Natalie) in this way. Manipulation and deceit passed off as knowledge and progress.

Derren Brown is entertaining.
Hasn't got a clue that he is more psychic than he could ever believe himself ;-) Russell Targ was a magician and he soon figured out it was more than slight of hand or mind that was in order. |

Derren Brown is very skilled but its always fun trying to work out how he does it. Sometimes its surprisingly simple e.g. how he played against multiple grand masters at once (hint: he used the moves used against him against his opponents, playing alternate black and white, making sure he had one weak player in the group to initiate against). He is very good at using showmanship and throwing attention away from his sleight of hand. Often when he claims to read minds etc. he is really using simple conjuring skills and distraction. Having live pause TV helps to spot the switches ! Some of his stuff I have no clue how he does it. The problem comes when the public come to see all psi, telepathy etc, as trickery; its important to know how to differentiate between the two. The important point is that Derren always controls the conditions of the trick.

So you think it's OK for the Monroe Institute, which Bruce Moen attended and endorses(he said in past posts here)to charge $4,000 for nothing more than hypnotic suggestion. Having your brain hooked up to audio-electronic devices, after the NLP(New Linguistic Programming)initial rapport given out by their programmers, and later being hooked up to audio non verbal or verbal-subliminal-hypnotic programs via headphones in a solitary atmosphere, giving out a certain frequency to program the highly impressionable-emotional sub-conscious mind, by previous verbal NLP-rapport, but now electronic means direct into the brain. The same mind hypnotists use in their stage acts!

Yes he does it all with trickery and says that PSI doesn't exist. Goes to show it is all for money and hasn't looked past his limited beliefs. LOL.

KaramaLars/Carl/Harvey/Etc,
Programming implies an agenda implanted in the subconscious. While TMI does make use of relaxed hypnotic techniques, they leave it open ended for your experience. Thus, people report speaking with a dead relative, or floating out of their body above the bed, but nowhere are they given a verbal command to say "you are now going to speak with your dead grandma." The typical TMI tape has the person relax deeper and deeper, in a secure way, without being "programmed" what to expect (I know, because I have several TMI recordings). True, TMI has its own belief system of where the frequencies lead, etc. So yes, TMI is its own belief system of sorts, but an open one, which leads the listener free to come away from the session with whatever he/she brings to it. Manipulative hypnosis for a purpose implants a suggestion into the listener's mind when they are in a suggestible state. The hypnotist then uses the creatie power of the subconscious to let the listener bring his command into being. TMI tapes do not have an agenda like that. Not without the participant's request (they do have tapes for healing, pain relief, etc.). Hypnosis, in my opinion, is direct contact with the subconscious mind (that part of us that interacts with a stronger creative energy) and as such is a powerful spiritual tool - not scientific at all. It is a joke to call it a science, as Western science doesn't really have a place for the notion of a real "mind" as a discreet indentifiable entity. M |
