Title: astrology
Post by deric on Aug 27th, 2012 at 2:27pm
Somewhere I read a comment saying that with obe you can learn things about astrology.  Sounded like the implication was that astrology is a real thing.  Does anyone here have any experience through going ob with astrology.  I have always thought there was something to it.  I used to do charts using my own calculations and several times the signs were just more than what could have been coincidence IMO.  You should see my chart.  If you look up the meanings of the different positions and angles it points strongly to astral travel and other occult interests.  That's me.  A girl I once knew was extremely beautiful and looking up the definitions it showed that.  The same for another friend who spent some time in prison.  It's shocking that so called people of science discount astrology on the grounds that gravity couldn't be the cause because the stars are too far away.  Of course gravity has nothing to do with it.  How nieve-how little they must know.

From my standpoint, gravity and cosmic magnetic aspects determine everything about personal astrological characteristics.  To me, the date, time and location of our birth is no haphazard occurrence.  Rather, it is one aspect of a planned and deliberate assembly of characteristics and circumstances and placement of a being into this environment to experience the opportunities available therein.  It seems to me that the variables making up each of our astrological profiles provides us certain talents, proclivites and foibles, and we can benefit from the talents, refine our proclivites and seek to overcome our foibles...or not, in the life we have this opportunity to live.  While I do not look to astrology for predictive purposes, I have learned a great deal about the manner in which I tend to deal with events as they come to pass...one of my trining characteristics illustrated the possibility of divorce in the event of matters which ultimately came to pass...

With that said, during a life planning session I witnessed during a meditation, the astrological component was part and parcel of the entire planning process...no mystery involved, just setting up the personal characteristics most favorable for the lifetime being planned.  I assume this could be seen during obe's if it was occurring during one's life planning session.

I don't know anything specific about astrology associated with OB.

I do know that one can't begin to understand astrology until one looks away from charts and mathematics and the drivel published in newspapers and peioricls.

I've felt the touch of luna on a clear cool night. It is a soothing yet gently controlling within me. It is a knowing that there is a system-an incredibley old and powerful system-exerting influince upon use.

The traditional astrologers who give imprtonce to th newborn's 1st breath understnd more that any roomful of chartcasters and interpeters.

The rules, mechanics and dynamics of the outer universe-whether physical or otherwise- are just as, is if not more so, in effect than our petty technical achievements here in this space-time concstruct we have become lost within.

Tool perhaps says it well "Saturn comes back around. Lifts you up like a child or
Drags you down like a stone
To consume you till you choose to let this go."

Hardly lotto number pics with that...

"I enjoy Ruiz' positive energy but he seems to be omitting some key components of the Toltec perspective.

The "dreaming body" or 'the doube" (surely the same as ths "second body" as described by Monroe)"

The full range: benevolent, malevoelent, and utterly uninterested beings aware of human existece.

Pardon me for digressing. I've be reading a great deal of Monroe and Toltec books lately.

I'll be around-looking for answers...

I'm sorry for any confusion with my post. The final five sentences (Ruiz, etc.)  were intended for another post topic.

I had two windows open and being a bit fuzzy from medication, I confused the text windows. I will be more careful in the future.

What I have experienced while OB has made me more open to many ancient teachings, although I haven’t encountered astrological knowledge yet.  I think contemporary times know only bits and pieces of these old traditions. What is revealed to us individually is what we’re ready for, they say, so I look forward to learning more about astrology too.

Maybe someone reading this astrology thread can answer another astrology question: Is there any reason that the name of our strological ‘sign’ is the same as the name of the meteor shower that accompanies our conception?  You’d think if there were a correlation or even just coincidence that the meteors’ names  would  correlate with our birthdays, not nine months previous.

Having had an interest in astrology for a long while, i've come to the conclusion that while there is something to it, it's not about gravity or physical effects so much as just a natural consequence of living in a larger reality based on interconnectedness between all Consciousness (aka Oneness).

Astrology reflects that interconnectedness in interesting ways in a symbolic language.  It only indicates or reflects patterns, it does not cause it.

What astrology can never chart or indicate however though, is freewill. It can only show the patterns built up and most probable by past use of the freewill.  In that, it sorely lacks and so isn't always accurate and can't be accurate all the time.

I don't generally have classic OBE's, but i've had a couple of dreams involving looking at positions of planets or the general solar system and i have psychically received information from guidance relating to astrology.

Hi a channel,

You seem to be saying that your 'intent to know’ astrology occasionally connects you to a source of wisdom about it. ?
Do you ever ask directly, stating your intent to know about some principle etc of astrology?

Many obes result in popping out, floating around, and dropping into random places. (“Pop-flop-and-drop”? :D Sorry, just kidding.)  When the ‘explorerer' has no intent beyond getting out, Consciousness provides no further meaningfu information.

Bruce’s method of retrieivals establishes meaningful intent, so when retrievers are ob, they are not at the mercy of bits of consciousness flotsam.

It seems that astrology and obes are entirely separate but could be combined if one had specific intent to do so. However experience with going outside the body is suggested to start with places and issues close at hand, to not stretch too far at first. For ex., some cosmic game of baseball using planets and suns as bases isn’t wise until some obe wisdom has been established.
