Title: Camping's end of the world
Post by hawkeye on May 24th, 2011 at 2:04pm
Well it looks like yet another end of the world prophecy has come and gone without the end part happening. Where do people like this Camping person get off anyways? Now he blames this non event on a slight error and we can expect the true end of the world to come in October. (He was wrong last time also) So to all  those people who didn't sell everything they own and donate to his church, you still have time to. His offer to give a tax deductible receipt seems some what ridiculous as we wont be filing taxes in heaven now will we? That's if you and I pass the grade and get in that is. I find people, and religions like this ridiculous. Its just more fear mongering. Repent, repent... The sky is falling. Donate now to save your soul.  What is he an X JW? They got the dates for the end of the world wrong also. A few times. There were people out there quiting their jobs..selling everything and donating it to this fool. His so called Church has over 100 million already. How can people be so led around by the nose? Why wouldn't his Church have given that money to the poor and needy to make their last days better? I think because they really are just full of the old barnyard mess. I believe its better personally to believe in yourself, instead of these crazies. If it looks like a duck...Sounds like a duck, Talks like a duck...Must make it a quack then. Besides that, we all know the end of the world is next year..2012...hmmm

The latest version of the Catholic church selling indulgences. Only this time it is wholesale rather than retail sales.

He said his calculations were wrong again. That's okay, because he has announced a new date.

http://www.wsmv.com/news/28009765/detail.html

From the link:

Howard Camping told his radio followers that God decided on May 21 that it was time to end the world. Camping now says that there will still be a fiery end that will ripple across the earth Oct. 21.

The 89-year-old said he feels bad about being wrong and that Saturday was an emotional day for him.

"I went back through all the promises that God has made, all of the quotes, all of the signs, and everything was fitting perfectly. What in the world happened?" he said.

Camping said he won't return the money of listeners who donated to his cause. He said that money is already being used to educate people about the world's end.

Camping seems to be really less about religion than making money off of people.

Anyone who proclaims one day of the "end time", and asks for money to prepare for that, is probably not to be trusted.

If such an end time scenario was to happen, what good or worth would money be anyways?   It's best worth in such a situation would be as a fire starter.

However, we shouldn't let crooks or people with various agendas or imbalances lead us from the truth that many credible psychic and spiritual sources speak of massive changes and civilisation collapses.

Virtually every ancient culture around the world has memories written in the forms of myths of past cycles of much change, and many of these have prophecies of future ones.  Just taking the Native American tribes alone, there are multiple, multiple accounts of both past accounts and future warnings.  Many ancient cultures understood the truth that time is not truly linear in nature, but is more cyclic.  What has come before, will come again, until we step outside the loop of space/time.

Then we have sources like Bruce Moen, Edgar Cayce, Rosiland A. McKnight, Bob Monroe, Courtney Brown, and others who warn us that major Earth and civilisation changes are coming again on this cusp between the old Age and the Age to come.  Many of these have verifications in relation to their work in other areas.

What cannot be "predicted" with complete accuracy or certainty, is the exact times and severity of these events.

To some extent, both the exact timing and the severity aspects are in a state of constant flux.  One can only read the major probability streams.   But, the way time seems to work, is that the closer we come to a general cycle of change, the more probable and clearer the probability factors become.  The more the events and their timing and severity can be narrowed down.

Hence, it is my feeling that some people here, and in some other places, will be given warnings right before events culminate in order to help the survival factor if we had pre-agreed to stay here to see these changes develop.

P.S., unlike Bruce Moen, Bob Monroe did not speak as openly and directly about the coming Earth changes in his books.

Yet, we find some clues here and there. For example, his unusual meeting and communicating with "He/She" and the implication of "necessity is severe stuff" when talking about a catalyst that would force humans to work together in a more unified, coherent way.  *A plan that doesn't involve religion, politics, military, etc*

More so in his biographies we get a more direct glimpse into his perceptions about this, and it's quite obvious that Monroe felt that the U.S. and many other countries were going to fully collapse at some point in the future.

He was off on the timing a bit, but that's not hard to get wrong.

Here is a link to a post i wrote about a very interesting and unique Remote Viewing Study/experiment involving the future.  Specifically a time cycle from from 2008 to mid 2013.  There is a link within that post as well where you can read directly about the experiment/study and the results yourself.

If you study the history of date setters for the Second Coming of Christ (e. g. the Millerites in 1844), you see that they typically rationalize their failed predictions and reset the date.  Their followers are often so eager to be right that they go along with this ploy a few times, and then drift away disillusioned.  Don't these people know that Jesus said, "It is not for you to know the times and seasons (Acts 1:7)?"

I read that throughout their history the Jehova Witnesses lost a lot of followers because of failed predictions.

Well, I believe I'm ready if he is right. I'm far from perfect but hopefully I will pass the grade with whomever or whatever is keep score, besides myself that is. If its Oct this year, or in 2012, what difference does it make. If its over, its over. Shouldn't we ready for it to be the last day of our live every day. I have a tendency to pick on the odd person here and there on this site (IE Don or AKA sometimes) but I also know that most everyone comes here because they are searching for something. Some sort of clarification of their own beliefs or truths. Sometimes I don't necessarily believe what they are saying or am willing to open up my mind to even see. But in the big picture I believe we all come here for common reason. That's sort of make us a group of one. Like a family of a sort. Well in my family, we have the odd disagreements. Some of them, I don't even like. But they say you don't choose your family like you do your friends. But you love them unconditionally. Just because their family. So if it is the end coming. Just to let you know. I love you guys. Even those of you in my dysfunctional family.
PS: That doesn't mean I think Don any less arrogant, and I still dislike red haired men AKA. ;) Just that I look at you like one of my own.

Greetings Hawkeye.

I'm another odd person on this site that you didn't mention. I too am here searching for something. This place helps me a lot in understanding the "Big Picture" while I patiently wait for my inner explorations to progress.

Originally Harold Camping predicted the "Rapture" to happen on May 21, 2011 with the "Judgement Day" to happen on October 21, 2011. Here is a website that has been there since before the May 21 prediction but only slightly updated:
http://www.ebiblefellowship.com/outreach/tracts/may21/

The date calculations that were used start with the date of 11,013 B.C. being the birth of creation. Just that part of the formula is discounted by the discovery of artifacts going back hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of years ago:

I dont think your Odd Ralph. Camping....hes a different story. I put him in there along with people like Jim Jones and the Davidians. Or the wacko from Waco. People like Camping are dangerous because week minded people really could believe in him and his end of the world storys. To me, they all fit in with the old twin towers conspiracy theory people.(And the Bush's also) Possibly dangerous to the wrong person. Bro.

Cool, you know how to measure the world, also we're observing other incarnations we too have that are spread across the timeline of earth, that are on all kinds of levels doing their part. Thick as a brick, bush wackos and meek as a hawk taking a leak alike. Experience is "dangerous", and there's way round it.

Bruce Moen talks about major, coming Earth changes, mass migrations of people into the nonphysical, etc.

Would he then belong in that "dangerous" group you talk about?

Certainly we tread on "dangerous" ground when we begin to demonize and so marginalise people with different beliefs and perceptions than ourselves.

Hawkeye:

How can it be dangerous to question? History has shown that it is dangerous when people don't question.  One reason Bush etc would try to get away with an inside job is because they know that there are a lot of sheep who won't question.
