Title: Do you believe that there is marriage in heaven?

Do you believe that there is marriage in heaven? Are we restricted to only one party over in the afterlife?

Blessings and Light of Love

What 'heaven' are you talking about, Alan? Did you say there was another party? Well, I should think so! How could they get everything done in a 'heaven' if there was only one party? I want to go to the best parties....even in my dreams I seem to complain if I'm not having enough fun. I  believe that all kinds of things are possible in the afterlife. What is good and right for you is, most likely, there if you want it, in my opinion. Finding it, well, that's another matter. I sure hope I have some nice friends when I cross over, and that I'm good to them. That's really all that matters to me.

Define marriage. What's the purpose of the marriage?

Do you think there are men and women in the astral or only gender-less souls?

How about gay-marriages?

Even Jesus says there is no marriage in Heaven.

But wont our earthly partners still have a special place in our lives in the afterlife,, I include gays in this comment.

The Mormon church has a strong belief in marriage in the afterlife, I am not a Mormon , however and do not agree with them.

What about our dearly beloved earthly parents and siblings, do you think that they might have a special place to us in the afterlife. The heaven I am talking about is the first heaven I know as we progress towards the infinite light we will shrug off all our earthly connections and merge into the great human mandala

Blessings and light

Alan

Could be. According to esoteric lore, each one of us was originally androgynous and split off into male and female essences -that means polarity wise, not that one is always male or female in incarnation, if you see what I mean.
So from that point of view, we've sunk down into the ELS to work our way back up and at some point we will re-merge with our literal 'other half' and become one being.
I know that's a different concept from the disk idea, but it also explains some of the more telling impulses for that one exclusive soul mate: our missing other half.
So I would suggest that as freewill is an integral part of our path both here and 'up there' then we can choose to marry that lost half. The only thing to remember is that is really would be 'forever' in linear time and I would guess that there are no systems for divorce!  :-? >:( :(

But then you'd know that the person chosen was another part of you anyway so that wouldn't arise. I see no reason why you can't 'renew your vows' to your beloved between lives if you want to. Mind you, the beloved there might not be the one here, and that's another can of worms entirely!  :'(

Best wishes,
David.

Marriage is a man made construct. I think it stays right here. If anything you recognize your marriage to your higher self which is you. The rest is data.

If you try to think of marriage and family in the afterlife the logistics of it will meet with a real sorry mess. Say I want my wife children and grandchildren to continue as one family in the afterlife, where the heck would it begin or end. Each of my adult daughters have their own family and so will my grandchildren want theirs close. If we insist there is marriage in heaven the offshoot of this silly idea would be a colossal family of billions of members most will have no idea who each of they are in relation to the other,Heck guys do you get my drift?

Its like this I think: We are here working out whatever through our character being played by our SELF. That Self has a totally different life within non physical matter reality. Maybe one is friends with the ones who play the family and maybe not. Is Bruce Willis really married to Bonnie Bedelia...of course not. And so it is with the big life as opposed to our small one here.

Hi again Alan,
this not be quite the 'sorry mess' that you allude to, simply because various people in our families will be part of our soul groups anyway, according to Newton's books on Reincarnation (not that that has any credence with some here, but I just thought I'd point it out).
Plus consider the possibility that when you get back over there you will almost certainly have a different attitude/overview to the life just lives and the family you were involved with.

Best wishes,

David

And I'm sure, if we do in fact reincarnate, that we don't come back with the same exact entities each time so it might get pretty hard to figure out who you REALLY want to be with. Thats why I have to say its all data and we process that data as being others when really its all "in our head" so to speak. You are the Everything.

...and not only those we love, but what about those we hate (or dislike greatly) here in this life?  ...maybe we will find when we get there that THEY are actually ones we LOVE ...hmmmm, maybe we should not hate them here afterall....

If we are all one, with no separation in the afterlife, then it seems there would be no marriage, maybe.
