Title: The reason behind "aka Vasya", spiritual names
Post by Justin aka Vasya on Dec 20th, 2010 at 2:17am
Quite awhile ago, my wife had a rather interesting dream wherein we were traveling together, were visiting Greece (a place she loves though hasn't been there physically in this life), and we met a very intuitive, sort of "guide type" there in the dream.

The woman was telling my wife things like, "you two have some important work to do in helping people in the future" etc.

My wife was like, in her head, "yeah, yeah, we've heard all this before from others."  (which we have in various ways).

But then the intuitive woman said something she found new and more interesting, she told us our "spiritual names".  Hers was similar sounding to the Earth name Llewellyn and mine she remembers sounded similar to a Russian version of the name William.

Quite awhile after the dream, i finally decided to do a little research into this.   I found out that "Vasya" is one of the more common Russian derivatives of the name William, and out of all the ones i looked at, sounded the most right.

Hence the recent "aka Vasya" add on.  I suspect it may be a little different than this, probably more like Vasra or something.

Vasya is correct. It is a diminutive of Vassiliy. (Pronounced: vah-SEE-lee) .... But I always though the English equivalent would be Basil.   :-?  (St. Basil's Cathedral - for instance).

http://www.behindthename.com/name/basil-1

"From the Greek name Βασιλειος (Basileios) which was derived from βασιλευς (basileus) meaning "king". Saint Basil the Great was a 4th-century bishop of Caesarea and one of the fathers of the early Christian church. Due to him, the name (in various spellings) has come into general use in the Christian world, being especially popular among Eastern Christians. It was also borne by two Byzantine emperors."

Hi aka hello Justin,

"The woman was telling my wife things like, "you two have some important work to do in helping people in the future" etc."

We're here, then we're not, the world still turns and has a way of turning around regardless of our perceived importance.

"But then the intuitive woman said something she found new and more interesting, she told us our "spiritual names".  Hers was similar sounding to the Earth name Llewellyn and mine she remembers sounded similar to a Russian version of the name William."

I'd ask the intuitive female what the importance is, really, if p daddy aka p diddy daddy aka yo diddy p daddy's name is.. whatever? :p

Hi Still Living,

Yes, i know that is correct, but in the dream she heard it was similar to, but not necesssarily the same as a Russian version of William.

I say "Vasra" for various reasons relating to karmic and Soul patterns.

  Hi there Volu.
