Title: My new short film about God Post by OutOfBodyDude on Dec 12th, 2010 at 10:45pm
Hey friends
I just released a short film that I wrote and produced about a man who finds God and the revelations regarding his inner nature which consequently follow. Please comment! I'm interested in all thoughts! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiIt8XSlFOA |

I don't really understand the thought process you went through. But if finding god, brings about destructive qualities then count me out. As for the lift of, could that not have taken place during a meditative state
The way the guy walked was disturbing, he looked like some kind of robot. I feel you, needed him to connect with his pathway more, reaching out to touch the foliage, looking upto the sun connecting with the energy. Looking down at his feet fulling the earth, all things of nature are reconnected to man as he develops spiritually. I would have taken him into the temple and shown the light re-merging with his soul, this tells the viewer that this is the goal, to reconnect. There needed to be more going on with light energy, maybe the path could have intermittent light particles merging with him as he walked` as well. Any how their my thoughts after I watched, hope you don't mind. |

I liked it, Dude! I think what might make it feel more complete is if we knew where the man came from, perhaps what state of mind he was in as he began to walk that path. Its interesting that you used Fire as the ultimate metaphor. I wonder if the powers could have been a bit more varied. The destructive nature didn't bother me because I saw him as destroying his own illusions. Great work! I wish I could put one together. What would it run me financially to get the equipment you used to create this film?
Yours, Beau |

Sorry you didn't understand the film. Well, I'm actually not sorry. But sorry. But, well, .. Oh well. Beau Thanks man! I pointed out in the dialogue that the man was coming from a place of fear, fear of the unknown, fear that all things spiritual didn't exist. But the idea was to surprise the audience. Not even the man knew what was hidden in his core being until it was revealed by God. The equipment I used to produce this was a HD camera, Final Cut Pro (a video editing software), and Adobe After Effects (a visual effects program). You can get a decent HD camera for a couple hundred dollars. However, the two programs along with the add-ons I used will run you close to $2,500. I recommend buying a mac, or if you already have one, using the built-in program iMovie. It is a great video editing program for beginners. b2 Thanks! Glad you liked it. |

No problems Dude, as I said I really didn't get where you were going. After reading what you've said I understand it somewhat better.
If its fear he was ridding himself of then yes I get it. |

It's not exactly a challenging concept. He feared that there was no purpose to life and nothing beyond death, so he began a journey to find answers. He discovered that God could be found in a place on earth, so he went there and found God. He explained that when a person finds God they gain Godlike powers and the powers are used to fulfill who that person is on the innermost level. So at the end his actions reveal what kind of person he really was.

I liked the film; your protagonist can give the Human Torch a run for his money or the X men.
That's what I love about this forum; we all have our ideas about consciousness and how it evolves. For me, God-realization is synonymous with love and loss of ego-motivated thought. Those who pursue destructive motivations take their thought in the opposite direction of love and light. Thus in my idea of the cosmos, a dark avenger like this protagonist or destroyer this "Shiva" type could only be a character from an ego-based hell. Evenso, I like the cinemtic twist that the seeker finds his "inner nature," but it is a dark destructive force. Its good film making to give the audience what they something they don't expect. M |
