Today I began reading Brennan's "Light Emerging" and as I read I began to wonder about using Reiki to make a warmer and more direct contact with a loved one in the AL. I decided to meditate and try to connect with my daughter, who died in a car crash and suffered a broken neck and other injuries leading to her death. After a few minutes I was successful in contacting Lori, and asked her if I could do some Reiki on her. I wasn't sure where she needed me to place my hands, so I placed them on my knees, using my knees to represent her body in general. As the treatment progressed, I saw her facing me wearing a necklace. I wondered why she seemed to be stressing the necklace, then I realized she was using it to bring my attention to her neck, which had been broken. I had never, ever tried to send her Reiki healing, taking it for granted that over there many healers would have worked on her energy body. But when she asked me to send healing to her neck, I was so thrilled to be asked. As I moved around to the back of her neck and began to send healing there, I wondered why I had never thought of it before. I loved helping to heal her beautiful neck. She seemed so gracious with all this and seemed so glad to receive the closest thing to true physical "touch" I could have achieved with her. It was a lovely experience. Vee

It's amazing and it fits with a couple of other observations that have been reported here at this site. One, that when a being in the afterlife is contacted by a physically incarnated human,("called down" some spiritualists call it) the incarnate being will 'put on' some degree of physicality in order to show itself. That much physicality must be enough to allow you to feel that contact through Reike.

Maybe the second related idea is the same as the first one, but I'll go ahead and say it -- when OBexplorers contact beings in the various focus levels, some sense of their physical being can be experienced as in soul-melds when exchanging PUL.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all caring energy, in whatever traditions, led to afterlife access? I'm thinking maybe Yes, they do!

Thanks, Bets. Yes, this was a new discovery for me but when it came to me, it seemed so obvious it was almost embarrassing. I need to take time to connect with all my loved ones there to offer them some loving energy.
Another thing I have been thinking about is that when someone dies, even if we know they are in the AL and even if we can connect with them there, there is always that habit of spending time in the day of remembering things that we resented or that upset or bothered us in some way about that person, while they were in this life. I have spent much time being caught in anger against my parents as I remembered things in the past that I "crave" balance for and justice for. Lately I have realized that, hey, I'm almost ready for leaving earth myself (I'm 66) and they have been gone a long "time" and I am now FREE TO LOVE THEM, JUST LOVE THEM. And leave behind all the rest. I don't need to try to balance anything out on their behalf or blame or complain or be angry any more. I am now free to love. Whatever possibilities there are for justice, balance, "fixing everything" or whatever, I don't have access to it. But I do have access to total, unremitting love. And leave the rest behind now, it's time. It feels like a seductive freedom, the freedom to love my family without anger or resentment now. Perhaps, after all, this is what Heaven is. Vee
