Hi All: Anyone interested in an entertaining tv series (only ran one year) about a white magician who helps the Chicago police... try The Dresden Files. It is available on netflix.

Hi Seraphis
I watched the whole series a while ago with my husband, he is a fan and has read most of the books. Strange how the Wizard plays an American and is really a Brit when the guy from the skull is an American and plays British. Shame they only did one series! Violet Sky |

Hi Violet: Yes, I was disappointed it ended after one season... but this was a sci fi channel original production and I guess they need an overwhelming response to keep putting production money into the project. Actually this was done in Canada and was a considerable saving in cost... I am getting one of the books from the library and if they are good I will go to the beginning and see what the character origins are this must explain the casting. I invite the board to suggest other gems like this for viewing or reading: There is a great movie... Men who stared at goats (I think) Joe Macmonagle was the model for the main character. reading: An Unlikely Prophet by Alvin Schwartz is a great one.' S. |

Hi Seraphis
I've seen men who stare at goats, very funny. I tapped my husband on the head, like the death tap, as a joke...he will not let me forget it! It wasn't a real death tap I might add. ;D One of my favorite shows is ghost whisperer. Cheers, VS |

Hi S.
I know this! And so does my husband! He says that whenever he dies now it will be my fault as I gave him the death tap....made me feel real guilty! Hopefully I didn't do it correctly! Thanks for your confidence boost. LOL ::) VS ;) |

Hi All: I am cycling through the Dresden files again. I noticed this time that the star or co star of the show is the City of Chicago. I wonder if that is the reason the show didn't take off... there may have been too much emphasis in the montaging on Chicago... if it was San Francisco or New York they might have faired better with the emphasis on the City.
But, I just wonder why the x-file crowd didn't come in on this show... it is really imaginative and well executed... too bad fox didn't pick it up as a follow up on x - files... But then Fox dumped on The Lonegunmen way too soon... S. |
