Title: The afterlife according to Fredric Myers Post by Alan McDougall on Mar 24th, 2010 at 6:06am
According to Frederick Myers, stage one is the earth dimension. As soon as the earth experience has been thoroughly comprehended – either through reincarnation or through the exchange of experiences with others in other dimensions – the soul may proceed to dimensions beyond the reach of the material dimension.
Stage two is called the Intermediate Realm or Hades. This is the spiritual condition, which is referred to in the ancient religious traditions as "hell." This is the realm where all must go upon experiencing the earth realm. Here, memories of our entire past lives flash before us. Whether or not this experience is "hellish" depends upon the memory of the particular person. If it contains sinister episodes and terrifying experiences, these will drift by the person's vision along with the more joyful happenings. Some persons begin at this stage to feel what is called "the earth pull, the birth pull" and the person may decide to return to stage one, the earth realm. For others, stage two is brief and is followed by entry into a more stable world, which is stage three, the Realm of illusion. The Realm of Illusion is a dimension where things may be created with the mind and shaped by the direct action of the imagination. Though a person may linger in this stage for undeterminable period of time, an eventual decision must be made. The soul returns either to earth or to progresses to stage four. Before leaving, however, the more enterprising souls may have an opportunity to experience one of the great wonders of this dimension of consciousness – a tour through some section of "The Great Memory." Just as on earth, one may go to a library and see newsreels of important earth events of history, so, in stage three, one may witness any event that occurred from the beginning of human experience. The Cosmic Memory has recorded everything that has ever happened. Stage four is the Realm of Color. This dimension is an indescribably lovely existence. Here one must leave behind all rigid intellectual structures and dogmas, be they scientific, religious, or philosophical. An infinite variety of new sounds, colors and feelings are experienced here and souls find a much wider freedom to function with highly energized intellect and spirit. If, in this dimension, the soul becomes free from the earth pull, it is qualified to experience cosmic ranges beyond earth's confines, such as the next dimension. Stage five is the Realm of Flame. In this dimension, the soul acquires a body of flame, enabling it to tour the stellar universe without being harmed by its temperatures and turbulence and to return with a fuller experience of these cosmic reaches. (I like this as my nde was similar) Stage six is the Realm of Light. Souls in this dimension are matured spirits, having lived through, with conscious comprehension, all the aspects of the created universe. They are capable of living now without form, of existing as white light in the pure thought of the Creator. They have joined the immortals, thus fulfilling their final purpose of the evolution of consciousness. Stage seven is the Realm of Timelessness. In this dimension, souls enter full partnership with God. This dimension is of an advanced spiritual nature, so close to the ultimate essence of creativity that no adequate vocabulary has yet been evolved to describe it, and hence it is difficult to communicate to earth-level beings. Very very true Alan |

This is pretty fascinating and I don't disregard it. A friend of mine were just having a discussion about the afterlife and all this the other day and he mentioned that "when we die we first experience death realms." He has also done a great deal of psychedelics and believes that LSD has brought him greater knowledge of existence.
In our discussion we touched upon the idea that everything we know of from History and most things concepted from humans even in fantasy will be accessible. That we could indeed visit Olympus or even Middle Earth. Of course neither of us know that but in my idea of a great afterlife maybe it's possible. Not just visiting it from our mind's creation but from its possible actual existence or from the perspective of its original creator (like if we can visit Middle Earth it appears directly as Tolkien conceived it). Now this is something I have yet to research or really reflect on because sometimes I'm not sure just how drugged out my friend is, but he said he found information which regards part of the beginning of human existence and Atlantis. That Atlantis is a real place on this earth and many things began there, as well as he brought light to the fact that our species as an evolved humanoid life form coexisted with species that some scientists believe we evolved from or were cousins to. I will research more into that as well when I'm up to it. Alan, do you have any information on how Fredric Myers came to these beliefs? Most of the information I have found which I have come to reason with most involves multiple realms after death. Victor Zammit's information was the first to ease my mind and offer me reason to the afterlife. Most evidence seems to come from paranormal research and contact/exchange of information with spirits from mediums and psychics which I imagine is the best way to understand these things. I watched a Youtube video (and I'm 50/50 on its legitimacy) of a Quija contact with a spirit which informed of its residence in the 6th astral plane and that there were 9 in total, it wasnt ready to enter that plane and it was the 9th where Jesus was located. |

Myers was well known in his time. However, while much of what he writes of gels with the "spiritualist movement" of his time period - he was a contemporary of Madame Blavatsky and the theosophists.
I don't see much in these "levels" of consciousness that pertain to love, so I'm inclined to believe that they are levels that he had theorized or experienced but not necessarily true for all of us. I have been most impressed with Emanuel Swedenborg's description of the consciousness of heaven and the arrangement of "heavens." He ties everything together into the person's expression of love of God and love of each other. This makes deep sense to me, and appears to be absent from this initial description of Myers "levels of heaven." Matthew |

I don't like Theosophy because I believe Hitler picked up his idea of a super race from much of its writings |

I believe in the idea of Theosophy. Or at least, I believe there is something in all religions which can be attributed to improving yourself and finding enlightenment. I believe that but yet I have not explored as much as I should of most religions. I certainly will. I'm just biding my time. I most certainly do not believe in limitation by any means. There is knowledge everywhere and knowledge is power. Limiting your beliefs is limiting access to knowledge and therefore limiting access to power. Power with purpose.

Hi Stone The physical universe and the Superconsciousness All information, both past, present, and future, exists in the ““Superconsciousness”.” The “Superconsciousness” (or Collective Mind) transcends time and space and with diligent practice, is consciously accessible from the deep state of awareness. Sentient“intelligent beings in the universe are interconnected in what I call the Superconsciousness” this is not God; it is where information comes from for all accurate predictions and visions, whether auditory, visual, or emotional. It encompasses all that is and all that will be in our universe. In truth, it is where our thoughts go to and come from. We only perceive these whispering thoughts in our brain and usually take little notice of them but we should try to be more aware and connect with this source of universal knowledge for the benefit of humankind, we have learned to filter out them to our disadvantage. I see it as something similar to the hive mind of the bee or ant but that, which connects all higher beings in one consciousness throughout the universe. I speculate this “Superconsciousness” is finite consisting of finite albeit highly intelligent life forms throughout the universe and “is not the infinite creator God” but one of his creations. A sort of galactic, or universal internet, think how useful this source would be if only we could gain access to it when we want to? Blessing and light Alan |

Ok. But where does that knowledge come from? Where did the understanding and realization of this super conscious become truth? |

The Information comes from all the higher sentient life forms in the universe, not only from humans on this earth. We make up only a tiny fraction of the higher life forms within the whole universe. The problem with this source of knowledge is exactly how to access it.I do it by entering an altered state of consciousness, by covering my eyes when I am not sleepy and waiting for visions, words and ideas to flood into my mind. I believe anyone can do this I am definitely not anything special so guys give a try for yourselves. Maybe it is all semantics what I call the Superconsciousness could be called the cosmic mind or the cosmic mental library Blessings and light Alan[/color] |

The report bogusly attirbuted to Myers' discarnate spirit contradicts reports of other channelings. For example, one of the most literarily prolific mediuns of our day, Susie Smith, is repeatedly warned by her spirit controls that there is no reincarnation and that the false reincarnation doctrine is dangerous because it masks an important afterlife truth: that the afterlife is our future career, a realm of evolutionary soul progression. One of the most respected mediums who channeled Myers was Leonora Piper. When she and other mediums were duped into channeling fictional character as if they were decease, she lost confidence in her channleing gift. The real Frederic Myers advocated the super-ESP theory to explain away paranormal channeling hits. The mediums' best revenge is conjure a false Myers persona and portray him as contradicting his earthly positions. It is irresponsbile to post channeled fanttasies about Myer's alleged vision of the afterlife with no regard to the nature and cogency of the mediums involved.

But what about all the people on here who have claimed to meditate into their soul and access information regarding their past life? |
