Title: Premonitions, anyone?
Post by b2 on Feb 21st, 2010 at 8:40pm
Does anyone here have premonitions? What I mean is, small ones, shortly before the occasions? Feelings, thoughts, verbal messages, dreams, visual images?

This happens to me on a regular basis, but they are small. They are not some kind of blaring message where I am able to understand what they are telling me.

Premonitions, anyone?

Hi--

Yes B2, me too.
Mine take about a week and a half to come true.  I usually hear them as phone conversations just as I'm waking up. If I think about them too much, I usually get them muddled up. If my Interpretor were as clear as my Perceiver I'd get more accurate insights.

Hi B2,

Ooh fun topic!  I get them all the time too, but they are usually small ones too.  Nothing too terribly exciting and it's not like I'm out there saving lives or something.

Most often I get them right before something happens, literally like only seconds or minutes.  But sometimes it's hours, sometimes it's days, and then there are the rare few occasions of knowing things months in advance.

I have had premonitions many times over my lifetime. Some of them years before the outcome. Some others, weeks apart. Perhaps they are there in some sort of effort to deal with the potential emotional responses, beforehand, or just a way of other aspects of yourself or spirit keeping you up to speed.

B2,

Yes, I experience small premonitions too.  Things like suddenly thinking of a person and then the phone rings and it is that person.  Or wondering about some topic and then unexpectedly seeing a newspaper article or something on TV that talks about that issue.

There is another one that happens sometimes, most often with my wife.  When this one happens we will both start a conversation at the same time, speaking exactly the same words simultaneously for the first sentence of the conversation.

Sometimes these little premonitions seem like "messages" from Guidance and sometimes they seem to just examples of what happens when our perception opens beyond its previous limitations.

One time I was sitting on BART (The San Francisco Bay Area's subway), and two ladies who had been playing phone tag ran into each other.

I found this curious and started to wonder about a man I hadn't thought about in over a year. I arrived at my stop and while having one step on the train and one on the platform, I heard a man say, "hello Albert." It was the man I thought about.

How about a warning?

One morning as I lay in bed I experienced myself slamming on my car brakes while driving on the freeway (non-physically). This experience ended right before I made a collision with the car in front of me.

When I drove to work that morning, because of the above experience,  I didn't drive in the fast lane as I usually do. In the same location I experienced while laying in bed (adjacent to an airport), I looked at the fast lane and could see that a man wasn't applying his brakes soon enough to avoid traffic that had suddenly bunched up.

His car crashed into the car in front of him, and due to a change reacton three or four cars took part in the accident. If I would've been in the fast lane as usual, I might've been a part of the accident.

I received the warning while I was in contact with my spirit guidance.

I think having these is normal for most everyone.  They happen to me many times throughout the day.

The one's I pay attention to are what I call vision flashes which are like mini movies that play in my mind.  Just a few days ago I saw a maroon colored pickup truck not able to stop at a stop sign because of snow and ice and he ran into the side of my truck.  Later that day as I came to the intersection I'd seen I slowed way down and was able to stop as a maroon colored truck slid into the intersection.

Things like this sure come in handy sometimes.

It could be explained as easily as a consciousness worker , as Bruce had named them, sending a helper into our thoughts to assist us in avoiding a problem. I have receaved countless messages while driving on our local road to town. Its over 100 Kms long, through the back country. Very dangerious. We lose at least one life per year on it. Countless accidents happen. Yet in 14 years of driving it I have always receaved the messages to pull over towards the side when on a corner where someone was cutting it, or to stop at one of the many blind bridges when a truck was approaching and couldn't stop. Even when I was going to get a flat tire. I just know before hand. Sometimes it just not to drive that day. These premonitions or messages, from those I love who exist within the afterlife perhaps, have saved my life a number of times. Are these contact/messages/premonitions with a form of extraterrestrial life. Meaning not of this earth. To me, I think possibly. (Not the reptilian kind of ET) But even contact with God...wouldn't that be contact with an "ET"?

I have had 4 death premonitions.  In the first one, I tried to talk my friend out of a hunting trip--too no avail.  In each case, I unexpectedly "saw" the victim's skeleton with a sense of dread.  I tried to dismiss the others as mere paranoia.  But all 4 victims died 1 or 2 days later.  In retrospect, I realize that all 4 premonitions were a call to pray for each victim's safety because the future need not be fixed.  I regret that this realization came to me too late in these 4 cases.

But I have just experienced the same premonition for a 7-year-old boy, complete with "seeing" his skeleton, but with a nonlethal premonition.  I met with his Dad and told him this: his son was deeply spiritual and very bright.  He needed an adult other than his parents to discuss his paranormal experiences in a sympathetic and probing way.  He also needed that adult to discuss his inevitable growing doubts with traditional Christianity.  I had already played that role for this boy.  But his parents considered my church too liberal and were moving on to a Pentecostal church instead.  I made it clear that I need not be the adult to play this role, but that I needed to be replaced by another adult who would play this same role.  Otherwise, as the boy matured, he would keep his doubts to himself so as not to offend his parents, but would eventually become an agnostic.  I will pray for this boy that my prophecy will be nullified, but I have no doubt that my premonition is binding if this corrective measue is not taken.

Mine are like this too!!!  I also get them muddled up because I'm not very cognizant at that time in my sleep period.

I also get thoughts that pop into my head out of no where...that's when I know I should listen to them!  For example, I was shopping at Target today with my mother-in-law and she received a call on her cell phone, as she picked up the phone I got a sick feeling in my stomach and the thought, 'cancer' popped into my mind.  Now why would I possibly suddenly think of that out of the blue?!!

She was on the phone for a while and when she got off the phone she told me she needed to leave early because she had to get an MRI due to a suspicious "thing" on a breast ultrasound exam.  I had absolutely NO prior knowledge of this information, so I would never suspect anything.

The ones I find fascinating from some of you are the ones where you foresee an accident and then can do something to avoid it.  The reason it is fascinating is because the kind of psychic info I get is that I see exactly what is going to happen.  I will have to think about it really hard to be sure, but right now off the top of my head I don't think I've been able to alter any outcome that I've pre-seen.

I guess we all have different ways of being psychic.

I've been logging mine diligently lately so I can learn better from them.  One thing I've noticed is that when I pick up psychic information through someone else's future emotional reaction to a real-life event, the way that I perceive it will be through that person's interpretation...which as you may have guessed is not always accurate!  So I've noticed that this is why I can receive "silly" movies running in my head.  Later, when the real event happens, I see what the silliness in my vision was all about...it was due to someone's interpretation and emotional reaction to an event.  So, the event as I pre-saw it was real, but their emotional response was wrong or exaggerated.

Has anyone else received anything like this before?

Yes, a fun topic!

I used to get them when I was younger, but they only happened a few times.  Very abstract stuff mostly.  I usually got the premonition in the morning as I was just waking up.  Sometimes it was an odd sound, or snapshot of some visual scene... then a day or two later I would find myself exposed to that particular sound or scene.

The only one that I recall having any real relevance was one morning waking up with the thought that somebody would shoot at the president.  I remember I felt very odd about having that thought run through my head, but I didn't dwell on it.  The very next day, some guy is making the news by shooting a gun at the White House.

That's probably the best supernatural experience I've got so far. :o

Vicky, are you sure that you were wrong?  Most everyone is very good at putting on their ego mask, the front they present to the world.  Perhaps you are correct in regards to their actual emotional reaction, but when the event happened they did not allow their true emotion to become known by others.

All mine revolved around a former fiance.  Upon first seeing each other we ended up in deep conversation and were in a full relationship in days.  I could decide to cook dinner and she'd show up with groceries (pre-cell phone).  I would go to call her and the phone would ring with her on it.  I was depressed and lonely while in another city and I got back to my room at 12:45 pm and the phone rang before I could get the key out of the hotel room door...it was her...she had been awakened when she heard her name called (her roomates were all alseep) and she felt I needed to talk.  Another time I was awakened from someone shouting my name (no one there) at three in the morning.  I got the impression she was in trouble...I telephoned and her roommates were dealing with the ambulance...she had appendicitis and had asked for me (to the roomates) just as they were taking her to the hospital.

Our relationship dissolved due to immaturity and distance (and pre-birth arrangement?) over 18 years ago, but my current path of discovery began as a result of her.  On a trip through Italy by train three years ago (March 23, 2007), I heard my name shouted (no one else heard it) and I got a full image of the woman, complete with emotions, memories and even the scent of her favorite perfume.  I had to find out why.

A neurologist friend said to ask a psychic!  My reader said this woman and I have been spouses in many previous lives and the connection is very evident, but we were not meant for a longterm relationship this lifetime.  Also that there is no soul with whom I have a closer relationship.  Kind of makes it hard knowing that and understanding we are not going to be able to interact further in this lifetime.

Since the occasions with her, I have had no premonitory impressions...that I can remember.

Hey Kathy!

What I mean by their emotional reaction being "wrong" is that their emotional reaction made them assume something that turned out to not be true.  Here are 2 quick examples:

1.  While on a band cruise I got a vision of the band's tech crew setting up the equipment improperly and I was telling them they were going to blow a circuit.  About 12 hours later during a show, the power went out and the lead singer passed around a sign he made "Blew a circuit! Working on it!"  It was his impression that they had blown a circuit.  So far this matched my vision exactly, I thought.  But later on we all found out that the power outage was not due to a blown circuit...it was because the ship's crew pulled the power on the show to get them to shut down for the night (it was 4 am).  So the information in my vision was correct, but it was based on the lead singer's interpretation, or shall we say mis-interpretation, as to why the power went out.

2.  I recently got a vision of my entire basement flooding so completely and quickly that in my mind's eye I could see the water rising up the staircase at an impossible rate.  I realized this was not possible, so didn't worry about it.  About 8 hours later, my son called me to the basement...the toilet was overflowing.  I ran down there, and the water from the tank was filling the bowl without knowing when to stop, thus overfilling to the point of an enormous amount of water running over and flooding the bathroom.  I was finally able to get it to stop, and only the bathroom flooded, not the entire basement as my vision had shown me.  After getting the water cleaned up, I asked my son why he just stood there in shock and didn't help.  (He was the proverbial deer in headlights).  He said that he was so shocked about the way the toilet water didn't act normal (normally you can plunge to get it to stop before it overfills the bowl) and it made him scared to think that his whole bedroom was going to be flooded.  (The whole basement is his bedroom...all his stuff is down there).  So my irrational vision of the whole basement flooding was based on his fear and emotions.   He knew it was not possible, but his fear gave him the irrational worry.

In the case of the toilet, why didn't I just get a psychic thought about the toilet overflowing?  Apparently my psychic connection was not to the toilet, but to my son's emotional reaction.

As for the power going out during the concert, it's the same thing.  I didn't get the info about the ship crew pulling the plug...I got the information of what the lead singer assumed went wrong....so my connection was to him, not to the power outage itself.

Now I'm asking myself what causes these kinds of psychic connections.  It's very interesting to think about.

Hi Usetawuz,

This is so touching and sad at the same time.  Sort of a comfort mixed with lots of grief too.

That connection was quite remarkable!

I once dreamt of a helicopter in water. Later at the same day I heard in the radio that a helicopter had just gone down into the bay of my hometown.

It was amazing, and all the more difficult when it ended.  Apparently, our relationship was "a blessing"...a planting of a seed that would somehow get our attention focused in a certain direction in the future.  The "visitation" of her worked to put me on this path, but we did not plan to reunite.  I am assured of contracts we have in the future in which we will be the equivalent of spouses, which provides some solace...and for which I had a lucid dream further assuring me of our future together.

Hi Vicky,

Ok, now I understand what you're saying.  I think one way to explain this is as you mention, it is the connection between the consciousness of people that we "tap" into, rather than an inanimate object that doesn't possess consciousness.  Consciousness evolves by interacting with itself and each of us being an aspect of that consciousness is connected to a larger web of consciousness similar to how we are all connected to the Internet.  Each of us has our own web page (personal consciousness) and each of us can visit someone else's web page by tapping into their stream of consciousness.  Emotion/feeling does seem to play a part in the non-physical communication.  For one, we have a closer emotional connection with the people we know or are close to us, therefore it is easier to "pick up" on their stream of consciousness, but also "feeling" seems to be a way in which nonverbal communication can take place within our nonphysical awareness.

Like your experiences, it was the same tapping into emotion with the incident I described.  I actually felt the person in the maroon truck putting on his brakes, trying to stop.  I felt the fear he felt as he slid into the intersection knowing he was going to crash into me. For a moment I felt everything he felt as though I were merged into his stream of consciousness to the point of experiencing/knowing what he was feeling.  I on the other hand felt no physical emotion whatsoever for my own safety.  When the mini movie that played in my mind came back to my own awareness of myself I simply said... oh he's going to hit me and saw the crunch of metal in slow motion as it occurred.

Since the accident never occurred, I have no way of knowing if it occurred exactly as I viewed it in my mind or even if it would have occurred at all. It is only probabilities that we are tapping into and the thought/interaction with others and our interpretation of that interaction that all plays a part in any communication such as what we call a premonition.  There's probably even more to it than what I've thought of.  There's always more to learn and you're right, it is fun and fascinating to think about and discuss these things.

Perhaps the most important teaching from the early church (e. g. James, the Book of Acts) and Judaism (e. g. Hillel; Philo) of that era is the access of every decent person to the gift of prophecy.  Among other things, this gift would imply access to premonitions.  But the "prophetic" character of these premonitions would mean 2 things.  (1) The future is not fixed and the premonition is given to elicit protective prayer or physical intervention to remedy the victim's plight.  If the premonition detects a fatal, then such prayer would help make the transition to the next life smoother and more meaningful.
(2) The premonition is revealed to prevent one's divine destiny or purpose from being prematurely aborted or thwarted.
