Title: A NDE to share
Post by nini on Feb 3rd, 2010 at 6:04pm
A recent conversation I had with a guy who had a NDE. I decided not to divulge any names. The video he is referring to is the BBC special on NDE that Juditha shared recently.

NDE guy:

"The short version of my experience began as I suddenly appeared into a realm that had no horizon. It was a golden color like waist tall wheat, ground to sky. I stood turning 360 degrees to get my bearings and figure out where I was. Then off in the distance was a figure that appeared sort of silhouetted as in the vid you directed us to, which by the way really freaked me out cause I haven't seen that image since then and they were very similar...:).

At the time I was newly paralyzed, in fact, it was only 5 days at that point. I yelled to the figure but there was no response. Then as the figure is off in the distance, about 200 yards to my right in the 2 o-clock position I begin to see other people entering this realm from the left in the 9 o-clock position and they're heading toward the figure. I get frustrated at the lack of response so I begin running toward it, but I wasn't running; I was moving but I wasn't running. I remember being worried I might twist my ankle going through the waist tall wheat like grass then realizing I wasn't running but still moving. I could get closer to the others entering the realm but I could not get closer to the figure everyone was heading toward. The figure would eventually point the others beyond him/her and they would disappear as if they walked into a fog.

I stood there puzzled and wondered if I was dreaming. It felt as though I had spent several minutes from my initial arrival to this point of reflection. I was desperate for an answer and others kept passing my by and they were all ages from very small children to adults making their way so I thought I would get in with them and try to approach that way. As soon as I attempted to do this the figure moved closer to me from 200 yards to about 30 yards and stopped and he/she covered that ground in the blink of an eye. I had an immediate feeling of wrong doing without any sound or facial expressions to que off of. Then the figure waved as if to say "no, no, move away."

Now I was both relieved and devastated. Relieved because finally I was acknowledged and devastated because I wasn't going to be allowed to follow everyone to where ever they were going. It was clear to me that I was in a sort of intermediate plane between here and the afterlife, which makes sense.

All through this up until this moment I haven't thought about my 9 month old son. Being a new father, my son was the MOST incredible thing I had ever experienced and any parent understands what this means especially at that age. Now it begins to sink in that I am dead and I won't be seeing him anymore. That realization and feeling of sorrow was very brief due mostly to the fact that I also realized that I was sitting just outside the hereafter.

As more time passes I become more concerned about my situation and the more concerned I get the farther from everyone I get as if I was being too negative and that energy isn't liked so you're pushed away until that emotion settles and goes away.

I began to just stay still and look all around and take it all in. At this point I can see there is a brightness behind the figure at the 12 o-clock position but that's not where everyone is being directed. They were being sent to the 2 o-clock position. Bear in mind that everything is golden colored like you're in a sort of bubble. As I settled down and just relaxed I just gazed at the new surroundings. All I could do was just watch as what appeared to be hundreds of others move beyond me and the figure directing them. It was a lonely and confusing feeling and it felt like a very long time. There was no sun light to give any perception of time and that was an unusual feeling too.

Then the next thing I know I'm waking up back in my room with tubes down my throat and can't breathe. From there it was just the pure will to survive (pneumonia, infections, you name it).

My doc tells me the day after that I flat lined and they weren't sure if I'd be able to continue with the surgery. He never estimated the time but when I asked my other doc that was present she estimated about 6 minutes.

It could be explained away that I was hallucinating from the anesthesia. The problem with that argument is why did I only have an afterlife hallucination coincidentally at a time when I flat lined? Why not an alice in wonderland dream or series of hallucinations? None of that just the afterlife experience and it was as vivid as me sitting here typing this response to you now.

I did change spiritually as much as humanly possible. Before my NDE I'd mouth the words "I believe in god, christ and the holy spirit" when asked. Mostly because it made sense, the idea made sense. After the NDE I am completely at rest with death because I realize it's not the end and having been to the front door of the hereafter I look forward to seeing what's on the other side. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no hurry. My son's only 8 and I'd like to see him comb gray hair, god willing.

So there it is. from that I have no doubt in the afterlife. When I think about the intermediate plane I was at, it could explain how ghostly spirits can be possible. They don't make it beyond where I was and perhaps find their way back (in simplistic terms).

I dunno, but I hope you are a little comforted also..."

I found this so interesting because unlike a lot on NDE's, his was not an independent experience of crossing over and going into a light but more like being stuck in the "in-between" and observing others moving on. Kind of like he was hanging out in the waiting rm and his appt. got lost.

Yes, thanks, nini, to you and your friend for agreeing to share this experience.

This experience does seem important because of its unique aspects!
Especially for retrieving, since it's a first-hand view of how some spirits could get stuck.
How could it be shared more widely?
