Title: Good vibrations Post by betson on Jan 23rd, 2010 at 6:32pm
Hi,
(Rebecca's phazing/ Ganzfeldt thread and Alan's Frederic Myers thread got me thinking of experiences that relate to both. I didn't know which to attach it to, so here's another thread....) The range of perception in each stage of afterlife development seems to provide all the experience one could hope for -- and then it gradually leads us to another stage. For example, the energy we preceive first may be the roughly startling, very physical vibrations that loosen our physical body away from the subtlebody layers for OB explorations. Once able to separate from the physical, we can rely on a softer energy field that someone has compared to the purring of a kitten. Rolling your R's like a Scotsman's brough (think Craig Ferguson ;) ) will set up a vibration in your throat that is a small sample of energies often felt beyond the physical. Taking explorations further we get to experience an intensified energy field when we get involved with phazing and soul melds. And on and on, until through seven stages or subtle bodies, we have completely left the physical so far behind that returning to it seems a terrible fate. Phazing was originally spelled with a Z for a reason, I think, to encourage an experience of those energies involved. Saying zzzz-zzzz quietly (without thinking of cartoon snoring, if possible :) ) is quite different from experiencing the rough boat ride on choppy waves that may be our first experience of energies that lead us out of the physical. Or even the rolling rrrrrs of athe purring kitten. And it's much more pleasant. I expect many of the stages Myers describes unfold with new finer perceptions. When I've done phazing, that zzzz vibration is concentrated around the third eye (rather than permeating all my body as it does during a soul meld). Quickly after it statrts I seem to be involved with other persons/souls, without any sense of travel or movement being felt. Phazing seems to speed one into the situation where a retrieval or reunion is set. The whole experience then unfolds with little or no notice of words and just brief senses of emotions or attitudes passing through. If you've done phazing, I (and Rebecca :) ) would really like to know how you describe the experience--I'm finding it very hard to attempt to describe! So when Frederic Myers says there are seven ranges known by such simple words as colour, flame, light, etc, I don't think the simplicity of those words does much to translate the amazing potential of these experiences! Each stage reveals its own universe, with the perception of energy being just one aspect. Descriptions of NDEs are a better clue of what lies waiting for us to discover. Bets |

Hi Bets,
funny you're mentioning the "z" of "phazing", I can relate to that. I like the pink noise in some of the TMI recordings. Sometimes it's modulated a bit, so it sounds similar to tree's hiss. I find it's very calming, and at the same time (when not falling asleep) it is as if there is a space is created which is expanding. A steady hiss is an acoustic "Ganzfeld". And sometimes we calm down little children with a gentle "shhh". My phasing experiences are mostly of a smooth character, meaning, normally there are no rough transitions, shocks, or bodily symptoms. In some cases though there was a heavy emotional component, which unfolded mostly afterwards, when going through it again. In very rare cases I've had a feeling of being electroshocked, or falling down on a hard surface from great height. I cannot shut down all physical input through phasing, this means I am not fully emerged in this other reality. Others apparently can do that, having a gentle phasing start until they totally loose body consciousness. In such cases I would speak of an OBE induced by conscious phasing, such as Monroe seemed to have had (except his early OBEs). I don't really see or hear while exploring, it's more like daydreaming. Like imagining something. Only that it gets a life of it's own. The good thing is, when always being partly aware of you body, there are as good as no fears while exploring, you always know you can immediately phase out and fully into the physical again. The backside is, it is not as imposing as "real" as an OBE is. An OBE on the other hand often is weird, uncontrolled, just because one tries to act in a physical manner, as it seems all so physical-real, but it is not the physical. That can quickly lead to overwhelming fear, as the lack of a steady awareness of the physical body can make one forget about it in a hectical moment, and then you feel like a stranger in a strange land. The concept (and phaenomenon) of "phasing", rather than the "classic" OBE accompanied by heavy symptoms, is as well interesting in another way. In my reading of Taoistic and Buddhistic texts I found a very similar concept. We are already "all", "enlighted", but maybe not aware of it, we have not "realized" it; and, "the source/the buddhaship is subtle, but still already here". Translated into our phasing terms it might mean that most of us are focused on a small part of reality, or more precise, a small part of what reality can be interpreted as (we even could say the physical world exists through our focus on it), while we wouldn't exist at all if we wouldn't exist in the absolute as well. This is all very difficult and tricky, but it seems to me that "phasing" is a broad and handy concept which can be understood in many cultures and traditions. Spooky |

I do not think it is an accident that cartoon characters are portrayed with "ZZZZZZZZ" over them while they are sleeping (or perhaps just OOB). My old TM mantra was very close to "ZINGA" and I found it was very activating to the Third Eye area. The very first recordings of binaural beats which I heard in 1972 at the Duke Psychic Research Center had a lot os buzzing sounds, and the rationale was that the frequency was higher and more closely matched that of the Third Eye. Remember, too, that less than one half of one percent of the total audio signal is the actual binaural signal (on TMI recordings it is typically 0.1% of the total signal). the only thing you hear with your ears is sound effects; all the humming, machine sounds, throbbing, and such is sound effect and engineered sounds. You cannot actually hear the binaural signal, even when it is not embedded in sound effects. Odd, no?
Phazing is almost what Monroe described in his later books, after he had spent considerable time exploring the actual instant of separation from his physical body. In the theater they have light boards with computer controlled circuits that fade from one scene into the next, like a "morph" program for the computer. He wrote about the sensation of vibrations getting stronger and stronger, as did Bruce, as he phazed in to Locale Two. Several programs have him describing log rolling out of your body (Guidelines, for one) rather than phazing. I see it like a Holo-Deck on the old original Startrek series-- like changing channels on a TV with a dial (like we used to). The scene changes around me, and I do not often have a sensation of traveling like Monore described in his books but rather a sense of exploration of the Inner Universe. Intellectually I "think" it is a different dimension, and I have found them distinct, but not as many as the Focus Levels of Monroe. Phazing for me means turning down one channel at the same time as I am turning up another. But you are right on Bets-- it noticeably softens as you break out, break through, what I "see" as the Veil, the membrane between these dimensions. It is very interesting to read Meyers, and others. I find the model of the elevator opening at each Focus Level to be confining and restrictive, and it does not match my own experience, which frankly is more resembling Meyers' stuff. Thanks for the link, by the way. Oddly I have been lately guided by Miranon, who is teaching me about the Nine Dimensions. He says the colors and the seven layers are only the first part... I must be right on. They have kicked me out of my local Monroe Institute group for knowing too much and asking too many questions. If anyone would like the free public domain program which decodes binaural files (called BAVSA) please let me know and I will gladly send it to you. It is surprising to find out some recordings have no binaural signal on them at all. Sorry for the little rave. Thomas |

Hi Spooky and Thomas,
You are beautifully expanding our sense of what phazing is ! Spooky, your use of the word heavy for OOBEs and Thomas' 'turning down one channel while turning up another' are IMO particularly clarifying -- thanks! Thomas, your comments about seeing showed me that even in phazing, I'm still blind, as I usually am in the previous states. I can sense the energies of what's happening and where people are positioned and where they move, but I have to rely on my HS to tell me the overall setting. I've been relatively actively involved with the afterlife visits for at least four years. Am I still afraid to 'peek' out at what's going on? It's harder to find F Meyers' work in this field than I thought. Most of my leads turned out to be more related to the physical world than I wanted. If you find some more pertinent links, please add. I'm really glad you found this thread and are willing to share some of your experiences. Bets |

Subject: Improvement (or restoration) of Perceptive Abilities
Bets, I have recently had pretty severe problems with losing Nonphysical perceptions -- dim, fuzzy "vision", including to the point of blackouts, loss of any sense of touch -- even though, previously, my sense of touch was not comparable to Physical world sensations, it was still there. I was terrified of losing my connection with Lauren, as things seemed to slowly get worse. My fear was probably part of the problem. I found this (reworded) instruction below in Appendix B of Bruce's "Book 2". Using his example as guidance, I reworded it to suit my situation. I mostly memorized what I wanted to say. Then, I pretty much did the SOP I used to get to the Altered State of consciousness when I go traveling. After I stepped out of my energy structure into the blackness, rather than trying to go somewhere, I opened up a conversation with my Aspect. I was surprised that it answered. Copied from my Journal, below is the way the conversation went, as best I can remember. I may have missed a word or two, but I think the gist of the conversation is there. I actually did this around 9 PM on 1/21/10. The next morning (1/22/10) at 6 AM I went to see Lauren. It went splendidly! What a difference good perception makes. My aspect actually listened to me and heeded my request! ================================================================================ January 22, 2010 Last night (I think around 9 PM) I talked to an Aspect of myself that I believed might be interfering with my perception. I did the SOP in the office chair to relax myself and drop into a meditative state. Then I began speaking to my own mind. I asked to communicate with that Aspect of myself which was interfering with my perception of the Nonphysical World. I stated (in thought), I want to perceive clearly in the Nonphysical World. Why are you interfering with my perception in the Nonphysical World? I want to change or eliminate the interfering belief, so that I perceive clearly the subtle energies in the Nonphysical World. A voice in my head said (as best I recall), There may be dangers and entities in the Nonphysical World that we cannot handle. Already we have perceived things that I cannot interpret for you, I have no memories or experience of such. It is frightening -- and best not to be aware of these unexplainable perceptions. We could be damaged. We could lose our mental stability. We might go insane! I replied, We are stronger than that. This is a great opportunity for learning and growth for our evolvement into a greater being. Admittedly, it will take courage and strength. We will find that, whatever it takes. We will not let fear stall our spiritual growth at this point. I do not believe that there is really anything to fear we have learned to let Love protect us, as well as good and powerful friends on the other side. I continued, Up to this point in my life, although I was not consciously aware of the belief, I must have thought I needed that belief to protect me. Thank you for fulfilling your function so well all these years. But, this function has proved, at this point in my development, to be not only unnecessary, but a major hindrance to my further growth. I release you from your duty to perform this old function right now. I stated firmly, Now, I would like to institute a completely new function for your enforcement. This new function will operate from this point on. The new function is: Whenever I desire to be aware of Nonphysical energies, they are to be brought into my awareness by whatever ability there is to sense them. Also a part of this new function is that if a new perceptual ability is possible to improve my Nonphysical perception further, then you are to assist me in development of that new ability. The Voice replied, If you are certain that this is best for us and this is the way it must be, then I will comply with your request. I said, I would like to express my gratitude to you for agreeing to perform this new function. ================================================================================ That was it. I can't believe the result from such a simple procedure -- I really didn't have much confidence in it. If this is not a perfect example of how powerful your thoughts and beliefs are, I don't know what is. My perception is now back to about where it was when I started. There is certainly room for improvement. In the future, I will gain from this part of the new function: "if a new perceptual ability is possible to improve my Nonphysical perception further, then you are to assist me in development of that new ability. I am sure there is also much work for me to do in eliminating conflicting and outdated beliefs -- to further improve my perception of the subtle energies. I post this in the hope that if anyone else is having similar problems, it may offer ideas to them for improvement. Quaero |

Thanks Quaero,
Just reading your words made my mind perk up with attention :) I'll meditate on it later and go read Bruce's wordings too. Very helpful! Bets |
